The reason why I have enjoyed this podcast so much is that it is not a documentary but real conversations about passion for a variety of topics, it does not always have to be the greatest or brightest that bring the best value... genuine humans doing their best - even if I don't like them I give them a listen because of your efforts and what The Diary Of A CEO represents.

You guys value influence too much. ppl easily respect him without looking at the full picture. That guy was born rich and all he did was steal and devalue their achievements.

A few weeks ago I was traveling in the U.S. my first flight was delayed by 6 hours, when I finally arrived in Houston, I went & sat in the United lounge to wait for my newly booked connection, I took out the book that I was reading & began to flick through. It wasn't 5 minutes later when the legendary author Walter Isaacson himself came and sat opposite to me.
Completely lost for words, I showed him that I was reading his latest book about Elon Musk, and he smiled & grabbed a pen out of his pocket and proceeded to sign my copy. A very kind person, even noticed that I had purchased it over in the U.K!
It was only a couple of weeks ago that I was traveling around Florence, Italy after reading & getting inspired by one of his previous books that documented the life of Leonardo Da Vinci. Having also listened to countless hours of lectures & public Q&As lead by Walter Isaacson, meeting him made my day.
If it wasn't for that 6 hour delay, I would have never bumped into him. The world works in funny ways sometimes! @thediaryofaceo

No long live the Lord and savour Jesus Christ, who already told us of the end times and being able to see the signs, when good is evil and evil is good, people turning away from God, and turning to the things of the world, wars , rumor of wars, pestilence and earthquakes. Jesus is the only one that knows what we don't. I don't fear death, for we don't live forever, but I do everyday more and more live my life knowing that I have an appointment and that is the judgement of God, whether I kept my feet clean, or worked on it. I put God first when I start my day, tomorrow is not promised , Im slow to anger now, think before I speak, frustration , anger, anxiety, greed, I strive to live the opposite of these emotions, thats not what Jesus taught us to get caught up in, thats what the evil one throws before an unsaved person , so they have no faith, to believe and be saved. No my friend when you know that you know Jesus has your back the evil one of this world can't get into your mind and you act out the way he planned for you to act out because he gets strength from your torment. I say come quickly Lord, I'm sick already by what I see. Hollywood the modern day of Sodom and Gammorah, I don't even follow Hollywood anymore , bunch of Satan worshippers men with boys, men with men just to be famous. Let's see what the devil has in store for Diddy, gangster rappers know were their going for the things that are important to them are not to my Lord.

So true. I Buried mine.. wasn't the smartest thing to do. At 11 I escaped my nightmare.. but my dreams haunted me..till VA gave me. What I called no dream pills.. it took away my dreams.. but I lived with them for 30 years.. waking so afraid I would go to Dennys where there were people.. still I never delt with all that I stuffed away.
I too have issues of DID. I isolated myself. Just worked..afraid of my own mind. I have gone to therapy..now 64. It showed me what my brain was doing..2-places at
Once.. horrible feeling.. made me see the past. Which I conviently blocked from my accessable thoughts. Things I didn't wznt to face.
Now,I control my enviroment to keep me from going there.. it works if I can control it.. I have a very intolerant person..very smart
      But afraid of relationships. So,.

I am currently reading the book and have already read the biography of Steve Jobs. I am an Arab, Muslim woman, teacher and educator. I find it very inspiring to read biographies of illustrious personalities who mark the course of events in human life, and I highly recommend reading biographies to my students. The fact that we read biographies of people from other cultures is capable of bringing people together, of cultivating tolerance and empathy towards difference and above all of not breaking down others and giving them the benefit of the doubt when they makes mistakes and gives him the chance to reinvent himself and improve. You should read only one book the word of God, don't you want to know how to live in this short thing we call life in true happiness and peace of mind. Making your self a better man day by day. And when its appointed onto you to die, don't you want to stand before the creator the one true God, and be judged worthy to enter into His happiness and peace that passes all understanding, and know all things and be bathed in His light , being changed in the spirit never hungry, never sick and its forever 10,000 years from now still giving Him the Glory and praise for allowing you into His mighty kingdom. Or be cast out into utter darkness, filled with pain, hunger, hopelessness, alone forever and ever 10,000 years from now and knowing you had the chance to chose, but you thought you knew better. I'm not willing to take that chance to many things add up in my mind and life journey to understand that just like a watch maker makes a watch out of 1900 pieces I to was created by a mighty one, as everything in this world was made by Him. I chose to be with the Alpha the Omega, the beginning and the end of all things seen and unseen. There is no other life out in the cosmos its just us soles here on earth in the middle of the galaxy the milky way, there are no aliens those are demons anyway. Don't be fooled, man didn't create himself, the big bang is the theory of man, just like evolution what we crawled out of the primordial soup of an ocean and evolved into an ape and kept evolving until we turned into a human. That takes more faith than to believe that God created us, because He wanted to fellowship with us and of course be worshipped by us at the same time. I have no problem bowing down to Him in awe , thanks and the fear of His power. But most of all chosen me to be chosen that He pulled back the Vail that was over my eyes so that I could see that He has been patiently waiting for all to choose Him to believe that I needed to be saved. That the way I was living my life was not the true way, but was the highway of destruction and many are on it, but He showed me the path and there are few who believe and follow that patch which leads to salvation, we will know all things and be in His presences for eternity 10,000 years from now because my sole never dies. But not everyone will go to Heaven His kingdom , they will be turned away into the darkness for eternity, alone, in pain, never satisfied , and knowing you had a chance , its not going to be like Vegas thats for sure. Thank you Lord, King of Kings. For leaving your words of wisdom the way out of this mess. I pray He comes in my lifetime, I sick by what I see.

Fast forward a few decades, he is semi retired now but has been a professor at university for much of his life, written several books on his subject, written hundreds of scientific papers, headed his own department, and several other departments and committees etc, worked in conjunction with NASA and other international scientific companies and organisations and is still working on new projects now… if your son has the capability (and it sounds like he does) then with hard work and dedication he can reach for the moon… you have done the best thing by home schooling him too… keep him away from the woke mind virus so he can think for himself. This was arguably the next best thing. And Isaacson does not disappoint. Equally interesting was Isaacson’s clear interest in Stephen and knowledge of the podcast (and Stephen’s life). I know this is a very “meta” comment, and the interview itself was, as always, exceptional, but it was also an incredible milestone. I’d bet anyone that Stephen is now working the Isaacson connection to help land that “dream” interview - Walter Musk. Go get him, Stephen!

I am nearly finished with Walter Isaacson's book (audio book) on Elon Musk. It is quite fascinating, delving in on what Musk has gone through in his life: details on his childhood, relationships + family, multiple companies he's successfully built and others that failed, his way of thinking, drive, demons, passion, and much more. The book is 20 hours long and I have about 2 hours left- and at times it can feel grueling, extremely technical, but wildly detailed. However I highly appreciate the deep inside look in one of the most innovative and intelligent man in our time today. If you're an engineer, have a technical inclination, or are simply curious about Musk's unique mind, I think you'd enjoy it. Also Isaacson is a great author and story teller, and I enjoyed his perspective. Thank you Steven for the interview!

I really enjoy your interviews, the best traits of yours is your listening to your guests. Your intelligent questions is also great skill that you possess. Admirable characteristics in a person.
I enjoyed this author's honesty about himself, a humble person. Very lucky to have had a very nice childhood. My husband is like the author, very balanced person.

Terrific interview w/a great fellow. You do a thoughtful job of asking interesting questions and even better, letting the man answer. The reason I have not subscribed in the past was that I did not like hearing about the % of listeners who subscribe. It left me feeling under a microscope. But today, thumbs up and you have a new subscriber. Thank you.

I was diagnosed with auadhd later in life, I was also heavily traumatized by narcissistic abuse, I was diagnosed with cptsd, pba and bpd. Meds never helped me until I found a med called nudexta that helps with the emotional incontinence, I didn't start laughing and crying uncontrollably until after a bad head injury tho. the things he said about musk feels like I'm looking in a fractal mirror. I think when immersed in abuse your whole life, its hard to find peace. like people get addicted to the chaos of their mind and they don't settle down which leads to the emotional exhaustion that I think is often labeled as bipolar. They way I hyper focus on my art reminds me of the way you speak of his attention to detail. I think its wildly paradoxical the awareness our country has for mental health. Most of our idols and most prominent leaders are lead subconsciously by their past and their attachment theory. and the ways in which our younger years form our frameworks later in life. I have a lot of empathy for musk because I can relate to melting down modes, or apathetic modes. I think it all comes down to attachment theory and how personalities affect each other. His dad was cold and that I think still it pushes musk to validate himself with addition to overworking and musk doesn't have the capacity to slow down and feel the muck. Also probably why he expects a lot of his employees. Perfectionism is also a way to cope with having a NPD parent. A lot of times autistic people are affected by cognitive dissonance at a deeper rate because of the way autistic people are inherently seemly strong with a moral compass and hyper vigilance. Reiki and dance help me slow down and reach calming states and for a long time I did not realise how much my art was my resting space in a world of chaos. It breaks my heart he feels so hurt by his daughter. What a humanizing story of a man who is commonly demonized or misunderstood.

Not even half way through. Brilliant episode, amazing guest. We have too many regulators, not enough risk takers. Such an accurate observation, so succinctly put. Love it. Already one if my favourite episodes

Yes risk is fine if any negative consequences will only affect yourself. Elon could take risks and cut off those servers in an instant - they belonged to him. Had an employee done that and their system went down, they would be sacked. Elon is definitely a forward thinking doer. It’s only because of people like him that we do move forward. Elon works on logic, not emotion so unrelatable to many.

I completely disagree with Walter's take on Elon's acquisition of Twitter. He's exactly what the company needed to give itself a real purpose in line with the renewed attachment to core values we're seeing in the West.

It's the first time I've spend over a biographer interview. It's all because of one person Elon Musk. My curiosity towards his personal lives is now fulfilled after this interview. Thankyou so much for sharing your experience with the most complex personality and developer of our generation. I choose to empathize not to judge. He's my inspiration indeed.
