You guys are amazing at talking about hockey. Very honest & keep up the great work. I'm happy that there was a new episode today because I watched the past two shows about 3 times😂
Potentially!! If they can stay healthy and IF PD gets them support, meaning NOT a 5’7” Dman in the bottom pairing. The bottom pairing should be big guys that can play heavy, hard mins so your top 3 don’t have to play them as much to protect them from injuries (which 2/3 has never played a full season without injury)
Yeah I agree Stutzle isn't self-centered or doesn't seem to let his early success get to his head yet. I will admit, the first person that came to my mind when you were talking was Trevor Zegras. He's on the other end of the cockiness spectrum.
I hate myself for this but I wanna play devil’s advocate a little bit with Tim Stützle. I wanna start by saying absolutely love the kid. One thing I do notice, and maybe it’s a bit of the language barrier coming forward, is as humble as he does come across, some of it does sound very rehearsed. I truly do think he cares and you can see it in his expressions on the ice and maybe it’ll take a couple more years for him to truly feel comfortable in front of the media but some of the humbleness almost feels a bit forced where you didn’t get that with Alfie or Karl if that makes any sense. But again, he’s 22 and maybe that sense of confidence and real leadership comes with time
One thing I will say about him, is he absolutely loves this team undeniably. And even if he didn’t sign a contract last year, I think he would absolutely sign a team friendly deal this year just to stick with the guys. And maybe that’s just an international player bonding with guys his age that took him in and made him family but he absolutely wants to be around all of them for a long time.
As Denis Potvin put it so eloquently (in Legends of the game) “I never seen anyone that accomplished anything in life, that didn’t have a tremendous belief in themselves.”
If Kubalik plays on the second line I will bet my shirt against anyone. He will get 25 or more goals and Norris probably 35 and up and Pinto more than 20 goals. I also think Stuzle gets 50 or more if no energies happen. Brady, the skies the limit and he has skill. I just want one more forward to play Pintos line. GO SENS GO!
Most likely! I think he will get close or exceed 25 goals given he is likely going to play on the second PP unit which will be have the talent to match any other team's top PP unit. He is most likely going to play on the third line with Shane Pinto and Ridley Greig.
@@MrPhilYelle Are you saying Ottawa 2nd PP is gonna be better than most teams first PP. 😂😂😂. Stop. You know the Sens didn’t make the playoffs last year, right? They may squeaked into the playoffs this year but mostly because Boston has gotten significantly weaker
@@Whowhatme Ottawa's issues weren't their special teams last year. Their special teams were above and better most teams who made the playoffs. Their issues were 5-v-5. Yes, they can spread their players and have two number 1 caliber powerplay units. Or, they can decide to shore their first PP with one of the strongest in the league. They were 10th overall last year and they should only continue to improve as they young superstars under the age of 23 are bound to continue along their development path. There is a possibility that Batherson, Giroux or Tarasenko doesn't even make the first PP unit.
@@MrPhilYelle They didn’t even make the playoffs. I think you’re fooling yourself if you think Ottawa is some juggernaut. You must ride the roller coaster of emotions if you think Ottawa is anything but “hopefully we can make the playoffs”. The depth is not where it needs to be. The 4th line is a joke and the bottom D pairing is AHL caliber. You do know their AHL team was the worst team in their divisions (dead last). So not sure why you think they guys from the last place AHL team are gonna save an NHL team?? Sure some exciting parts but can they do it again. Will Giroux have another season like last? I hope, but certainly no guarantee. Are all Fs gonna stay healthy? Probably not, the depth will be a problem. Can the top 4D or 2Gs stay healthy. Probably not, historically they haven’t. Will Sanderson take a step backwards (which often happens as players get to know his game and video shows his weaknesses), can Pinto produce anywhere near 20 goals again? Not sure, certainly wasn’t impressive after original 15 games. Is Stutzle a genuine 1 pt/game guy? We will see. Lots of questions around this team, time will tell how those answers play out. To think 100% of those are gonna fall Ottawa’s way… is well EXTREMELY positive thinking (but there is something called reality). Let’s hope for playing meaningful game down the stretch (anything above that.. will be a bonus).
@@Whowhatme wow, you're either a troll or the biggest Debbie Downer fan I've seen. I never said anything about making playoffs is a lock. I think Sens will turn some heads next season. If they don't make it they will be close. Brannstrom and Klevin/Hamonic on 3rd pairing is an excellent 3rd pairing. Brannstrom just started blooming last season. He's no Sanderson, but hes a good reliable, fast skater and above average puck handler.
If DJ is on hot seat (and frankly has been last 2 years), why bother? Give the new coach, training camp to instill his philosophy. I guess, the only reason it isn’t happening is because of ownership change
Another great show, thank you
I love Ian such a nice guy always positive he always a pleasure to listen to

We really appreciate the feedback! It’s our pleasure to produce Senators content; this kind of support makes it worth the time!
Great show guys. Awesome guest you guys have today. Nobody’s better than Ian.
Thanks, Mark!
Great episode guys. Well done!
You got the GOAT Ian Mendez. Great show.

The real burning question this off-season: will the Sens bring back bobblehead giveaway nights at the CTC?
Hopefully!

Chabot was over worked for years, finally he can play a normal amount of ice time.
I think Chych gets hurt and Kleven never gives his spot back
Of course Chychrun will get hurt. He’s never played 82 games. If Kleven moves into our top 4, we will never win

will be stiff competition for playoffs between teams in Atlantic division
