      It is good to use hot water but only at first. It opens the pores for a deeper clean. Then rinse after with cold water to close the pores.

    I have the world's most sensitive skin, and her "Calm & POREfect Serum" has helped my skin so much, especially with irritation and dryness on my cheeks, and some of my acne marks and scars have slightly faded, just over the past month of using it. I usually don't gravitate towards celebrity brands, especially skincare, but after reading the quality of her ingredients, I was hooked. It is so nice having skincare geared towards sensitive skin but with the technologies and science of 2020.

    I hate when brands advertise products for people with sensitive skin, eczema, rosacea and then put a bunch of essential oils in them.

    • @Candyprincess971
      @Candyprincess971 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      It depends of what essential oils they use some do have clinically proven anti inflammatory properties like frankincense (boswellic acid), chamomile, blue tansy, lemongrass, coriander, basil etc... as long as it’s appropriate percentage in sinergy with cold pressed oils high in omegas 3. I’m a natural skincare formulator with occasional eczema and sensitive skin and these essential oils have made a huge difference for me. There’s a lot of misinformation about essential oils, the chemotype of each one is what makes the difference. You can check the clinical studies on Pubmed.

I do love her but I’ve seen Jessica do several skincare videos and the best word I can use to describe her methodology is intense. I did some research about hyaluronic acid supplements. From what I found these supplements can help lubricant your joints and improve mobility, supports overall skin health such as softening fine lines and wrinkles, it also supports our connective tissues. So overall hyaluronic acid supplements seems to be very beneficial as we grow older because it helps improve signs of aging in the skin, joints and connective tissues. I read lots of different articles and this seems to be the comments throughout. I hope this helps. (:

    I like your comment about the essential oils. I find it funny when some people "avoid chemicals" but swim in the essential oils.

    • @Candyprincess971
      @Candyprincess971 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are different chemotypes, some essential oils do have clinically proven anti inflammatory and regenerative properties (Pubmed). I’m a trained skincare formulator and they have made a huge difference on my skin. Chemo type and percentage are important in sinergy with the right carrier oil. I use both synthetic(wrongly called chemicals as everything is a chemical) and natural ingredients.

    • @skinsolicitor
      @skinsolicitor 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Candyprincess971 In my understanding - Yes essential oils do have proven properties, but in concentrations that we would need to use EOs to display those properties, would be actually harmful because those concentrations are too high.
      There is an idea of cumulative benefit with long time use, so low concentrations over time lead to those proven benefits.
      I also work in the skincare industry for a lab. I'm a copywriter, so I read lots of studies about ingredients we put in products in order to understand what I'm writing about or to help me better propose product concepts I need to pitch to clients. Of course, there are some parts of studies I need help with when it comes to understanding them, so I always talk to our formulators when I get stuck with the studies.
      My comment was to help understand that we don't need to fear chemicals and that for most people essential oils are just fine to use as are other chemicals that are used in skincare. The industry is heavily regulated, the whole process of creating products has several safety tests, and even when I write an article about ingredients or product labels I ask regulatory or formulators advice for claims.

    Questions: How do you clean a face roller/face massager? When using a chemical exfoliating toner or serum, do you need to let it sit on your skin for any length of time before applying your next product? I know pH is important for an exfoliant to be effective and it seems to me that going in right away with another serum or moisturizer could change the pH.

    As a person with rosacea I feel like facials aren't for me.

      I have couperose and sometimes rosacea, I love getting facials but they’re my worst enemy! I can’t find an aesthetician who knows how to treat my hypersensitive skin. Every time I go is like 10 days of irritation. I don’t know how since I’ve built the tolerance of my skin so much in the last few years...

    Could you do a reaction to Jada Pinkett Smith's skincare routine?

    I only do double cleanse, if I’m wearing makeup. Otherwise I just like to go in with a gel/creamy wash. I changed my skin care routine a bit and my skin is glowing! Even my husband made a comment about it

    I got the honest beauty gel to milk cleanser because of her video but it didn’t work at all like in the video 🤔 didn’t emulsify or remove my makeup!

    There is *some* evidence that hyaluronic acid supplementation can help improve the moisture barrier, but as of yet it’s not great.
