I genuinely like the suit, it’s not perfect for sure but I’m happy with it! I really like how it looks more like clothes and it’s baggier. It adds to his everyman charm imo. If you don’t it’s totally ok I can see how it’s not for everyone. Just like and subscribe instead of yelling at me that’s more productive tbh
I think its the best suit in live action, has trunks which makes it better than heoclin and cavill suits, it's on par with routh's cw superman suit, only thing is the collar
Actually i also like the suit it reminds me of the 1978 film and the Kingdom Come versions of the suit and it looks geniunely amazing
@@user-qn5iq3os4k also it doesn't really matter which suit is better because each suit was designed in that way to fit their respective movies. the same way snyder's suit was dark and had no trunks, that fit the tone of the film they were trying to achieve

@@user-qn5iq3os4k it wouldn't work in a more classic superman tale, the fans now have been so used to it, thinking the underwear is outdated, that it is the only way to go for a superman suit because it is more modern. Gunn said he wanted to be true to superman and still do something new and never seen before. keeping the elements that are true to superman - curl, bright colors, trunks - but something new as well - tactile and practical feel and new 52 and kingdom come inspiration. its not a royal garment-like armor, its a symbolic uniform. like captain america's suit and how that was modernized...

I think this is actually a behind the scenes photo of David getting ready for a scene and not an actual still from the movie. The picture makes a lot more sense when you think about it.

My 1st thought
If it's a 'behind the scenes' photo... that makes it even worse. You don't show 'behind the scenes' content as a 'first look'. The 'first look' is normally used to make an impactful first impression of actual movie footage. Whereas (BTS) behind the scenes content is bonus stuff (or B-roll footage) that gets added to a DVD (or a Director's Cut) after principle photography has wrapped. The very first glimpse of the movie should not be any B-roll footage (or photos) that will never be shown on the big screen. That's such a dishonest & misleading thing to do to your audience. It's better to wait until you have something GREAT to share, or show nothing at all... instead of deceiving the audience.
This guy is truly a superman. People forget that he's literally 6'4, as tall as Christopher Reeves and he's massive( look at his biceps).

Cavill was 6ft and was 190 pounds in Man of Steel. David is 6,4 and has transformed for superman 2025 to 240 pounds and is shedding some of that weight as he tones up - said by his trainer.
I think my favorite aspect of the photo is the inherently simple act of him just putting on his boots one at a time. Hes an alien that flys supersonic, but like everyone else in a down to earth way simply puts on his costume(ofcoarse that contrasts classic depiction of quickly changing in a booth) but this presentation looks like itll be grounded in values and personality but fantastical in action and scope.
The picture is symbolic of how we go to work to a 9-5 daily and we get tired. Superman’s 9-5 is saving the world him sitting down putting on his boots is relatable to the everyday hardworking class individuals.
Great take. Very interesting theory at the end as well. I'm glad to see the belt and trunks. Suit is battle-worn and dirtied. Shows good realism. Suit is an amalgamation of different features of the Superman suit over the decades, nice touch. I like saying it like this, it's "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."
The image, it's Superman back to work, back in action. All-Star Superman was a contemplative warrior who was accomplishing one heroic challenge after the other. It's clear that Gunn takes inspiration from that comic, so this vibe totally makes sense. It's a good suit. Personally, I'd like to see the colors pop more on the suit. The hair, no big. It won't be perfect. I appreciate the curl. Gives the classic touch. Was hoping for a bit more jet black.
There's real All-Star Superman gravitas in this photo, especially with the creature in the background. Looking forward to the movie too 🎉💯
I love the suit. It looks practical. Like something people would wear on Krypton. It's loose enough to be worn comfortably all day. I don't think people on Krypton would have worn skin tight suits.

@@HTMN161 But it's possible that the suit was placed in Clarks space shuttle by his parents. If so, then it's understandable that the suit would not be perfectly fitted to him. Maybe the suit belonged to his biological father.
James Gunn has always been a man of thee people and he respects the fans so i can wholeheartedly put my trust on that man and just trust the process 💯
Great video! What James is doing is making me more of a Superman fan too. I love the New 52/KIngdom Come inspirations, it looks amazing. The New 52 is actually my favourite Superman suit but the classic suit is perfect too. Also I highly doubt Brainiac is in this.

TH-camr BobaTalks had something like this to say abt hoping to get a matt reeves Batman costume reveal and I think theres still time for that. Like maybe seeing a short clip of superman flying in clouds w the camera paneling around as he soars or leaps a building in a single bound maybe. Yeah suit looks great and although I don't love it on par w Battisons suit, might even say Im mixed I have yet to see as a whole. Wont go whole in my opinion but besides a beautiful crest this does show he's no freshman superhero w elements of modern details while staying true w trunks

It is a freshman Superman tho. He is not Superman at the start of the movie.

Well he said the photographer took it so this room and chair is all practical and in camera, but that does not mean the effects are because, well, like he’s not really sitting by a window with a universe being destroyed, so it’s cgi for sure.
I think the background from LED screen, maybe this is set for Lex luthor or Perry White office

To the many people who are obsessing on how bad this is - they should have their eyes and head examined and get a life! This is dope! This is an intimate meta moment between the scenes captured here of Corenswet having once donned his suit, made to look soiled in some battle, and pulling on his boots for the next shot. Truly ingenious but totally lost to toxic fandom! The Cavill suit unveiling was also good, as the Hoechlin, Christopher Reeve amd Welling suits were also good unique iterations. Only the Brandon Routh one looked cheap with the trunks and boots somewhat ridiculous. But then I didn't like Superman returns at all. Routh was a passable Superman at best, the Lois lane actress beside him - i forgot who she was - was a wallflower who did not look at all like Lois Lane in contrast to the electrifying Kidder, Durance and Tulloch who were uncanny incarnations of Lois Lane. Brosnahan has that look, so she'll also be as great as Corenswet and Hoult!
I can't judge the suit completely yet until I see him fully standing up. You can't really see it in this image of him sitting down. I do like what I see so far though.

I wish I could share the same opinion but the picture doesn't have that hope and positivity that I expected. It feels like a darker more serious take on Superman which we had. I wanted a more hopeful Superman. The suit is overly designed like he's space police and it looks baggy on the actor. I don't like the darker toned blue it should be brighter and the cape on the shoulders don't look good.

So it's a new 52 Superman with trunks
My theory is the texture of the cape, ma kent most like made the aspect of the suit, but for the rest it looks so mid, don't flame me but I’ve seen fan art better than the whole suit reveal. I feel like in my opinion, the suit looks MAD okay, I think the pose, battle damage, and background distracts a lot. The only negative on the suit is the lines. I wanted to love it not be like “eh” but I don’t know man… for me It just takes the worse aspects of the comics suit cough cough….new 52.
You can have the best Superman suit of all time and still have a shit film. I have faith in Gunn that he won't miss in writing.
The lines really disappointed me, I'm not a big new 52 suit fan either so I don't get the inspiration but I'm hopeful the writing makes up for it and the suit looks better in good lighting/motion

I overall really like the suit there are a lot of people say they MCUed Superman but I honestly don't mind the lines on the costume even though I think they clash with the trucks It's just weird seeing these two design elements that doesn't match if they want it to be traditional BE TRADITIONAL if they want it to look modern BE MODERN but don't make this hodgepodge of design elements that were never met to go together
Well James Gunn is making it so of course there are going to be MCU elements it’s the reason Gunn got the job in the first place.
My first impression was GOTG vibes, which I think fit perfect, because Guardians have always had a different vibe from rest of MCU anyway. It’s colorful with popping colors like MCU, but Gunn mutes the colors similar to Snyder but nowhere near as much, and adds grit and texture to things.
Also this is essentially the modern Superman 52 suit.

This looks terrible and I think this James Gunn version will suck and flop. This happy go lucky Superman is not consistent with the comics unless you’re talking 60’s and 70’s Superman. Superman literally fought the Nazis in his early years. Those comics and cartoons were a little dark in nature but he provided hope in a dark place. Zach Snyder actually got the OG character right! Super man was serious before he was watered down and corny. Gunn sounds like he will bring back corny Superman. And yes the suit is trash. This will be a total train wreck mark my words.
