This song always cuts deep. I first heard it in the 90s when my ex-wife and I were having one of our many falling outs. It perfectly encapsulated how it felt between us, wanting to love and be loved back in equal measure but always having that rift between us. Each of us gave deeply of ourselves, but she refused to believe she could truly be loved, and so she couldn’t truly love. She hated herself too much to really see the man lying next to her.
She couldn’t crawl out of a bottle or stay out of other men’s bedrooms, and it never got better for long. She kept searching for something she already had, but she couldn’t let herself believe it.
So, that’s over, for a long time now. My bed is a lonely place for her absence, but it’s better than sleeping next to emptiness.

Im 15, this song reminds me of my used to be best friend that has started to hang out with the wrong crowd, and is slipping down a long slope that is taking his life away from where it should be. Drugs, alcohol, vaping, all that stuff that can tear your life apart as a 15 year old. This just makes me think about all the fun we had and all the time we spent together and these “walls that lie between us” that have slowly separated us. I don’t think he knows that what he has done has affected so many people, and me especially.
Everyone that sees this just remember life is full of pain and there is always a way out 🖤

    • @Dukeflyhawker
      @Dukeflyhawker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

I had the exact same experience at the exact same age, during the height of grunge music as the backdrop. It really hurts, but just be there for the guy, help if he lets you, and try to understand him rather than judge him, as he may be struggling with some really deep rooted personal/family traumas that you haven't experienced. And try not to be angry at him, although at times it can be really hard. In the meantime, build other friendships and form new bonds. My friend eventually came out of it, and is doing great, but it took about 15 years until we could occasionally hang out again like old times. Sometimes I'm still sad for the crucial adolescent years our friendship lost, but I hope you can put my advice and others' to better use than I was able to, cause I never got any advice like this back then, so I was left to try and figure it out as I go. Be strong and best of luck

I’m 14 and I know so many people who have started going down that path. None of them are really my friends though. But I keep trying everyday to make sure me and my friends don’t go down that road. If there is anything grunge has taught me, it’s that doing drugs can really F up your life.

    All my feelings rose today
And I want you to remain

    I'll try not to complain
    I know that's a pisser baby
    The chemicals between us
The walls that lie between us
    Lying in this bed
    The chemicals displaced
    There is no lonelier state
    Than lying in this bed
    I want you to remember
    Everything you said
    Every driven word
    Like a hammer
    Fell to my head
    The chemicals between us
The walls that lie between us
    Lying in this bed
    The chemicals displaced
    There is no lonelier fate
    Than lying in this bed
    The chemicals between us
    The chemicals between us
    Lying in this bed
    We're of hollow men
    We are the naked ones

I remember getting home late one warm, summer, work night. Needing to get some sleep and laying there with the windows open, my unemployed neighbor blaring this tune out at 2am.. Didn't want this tune to end.. Really Rocks! even still

Excellent concert in Kansas City a few years ago. Gavin walked from the stage all the way to the back row on the floor them came up to the balcony. We like the first 2 rows in the balcony. You close to the stage with an excellent view. He was saying hi to ppl including me. Super cool. Hope to see them again.

The lead singer always touches a nerve of human condition. It can't be ignored. There's substance to Bush's music that's timeless. There's no real substance in people or most music now.People and music are afraid of substance now.How rare now..How sad.🤔

    I want you to remember
A love so full it could send us all ways
    I want you to surrender
    All my feelings rose today
And I want you to remain
The power of children can amaze
    I'll try not to complain
    I know that's a pisser baby
    The chemicals between us
The walls that lie between us
    Lying in this bed
    The chemicals displaced
    There is no lonelier place
    Than lying in this bed
    I want you to remember
    Everything you said
    Every driven word
Like a hammer, held, to my head
    The chemicals between us
    There is no lonelier place
    Then lying in this bed
    The chemicals displaced
    There is no lonelier place
    Than lying in this bed
    The chemicals between us
    The chemicals between us
    Lying in this bed
    We're of the hollow men
    We are the naked ones
    We…

Vocal mais os estriamentos faz, combinação perfeita essa música é Muito massa, Show. 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻👊🏻👍🏻
