I'm just about to hit 40 .... seen all sort of bands from AC/DC and Maiden through to Rush and Marillion and even the likes of Tom Jones and Rod Stewart nothing,,,, and I mean nothing comes cloes to Big Country Live. I was lucky enough to stand in the dark and watch in wonder ..... I count myself very, very fortunate.
The sound quality on this is extraordinary. The mullet quality on this is extraordinary. Nobody else did what they did. Far too earnest for the time of irony and sarcasm in "alternative" and "new wave", they showed up as instrumental virtuosos and instantly changed the landscape. Also: going to the Soviet Union in 1988 was no small feat, and was done by very few. Stuart's insistence on jumping into the crowd to mingle with who he knew to be simply other humans was revelatory, and highly indicative of his character. I was fortunate to see them in Edinburgh, while stationed in Scotland in the early 1990's. They were leviathans, and they changed my life forever...
Saw them at the Oxford Apollo in my teens, supported by a great band called "Cry Before Dawn". Absolutely incredible night. So glad I saw these guys while Stuart was still with us.

i saw them here. it was great sound. friendly contact with fans. before here no western idols come to moscow

Great band,great gig,i had a videocassete with this gig filmed on it,around 1989,i loved them directly.
