Hi there. Do you do any sort of online consults? Asking because my laptop was damaged by TSA and now the fan is really loud when powering the laptop up. I can't really get to a repair shop right now so I wanted to know if I could send you a vid or something of the issue. I just watched this video and took the bottom off,but I didn't see anything that looked weird that could be the reason for the fan noise issue. If you do online consults could you let me know how much you charge and how I can send you the vid?
Does this unit have an inverter board or is it built into the LCD screen assembly. Or is it part of the motherboard itself. I have this unit and it only works with an extetnal monitor. If i shine a flashlight I can see the screen faintly. Brightness is turned all the way up. It had yo be the inverter. I just need to know where that is located.
@@ItsBinhRepaired Ahh so the inverter is part of the motherboard. That's too bad. Laptops used to have separate inverter boards. Then for a while they were part of the LCD screens. This unit is still under warranty too but they said it could take a month for the repair. Crazy! I was hoping for a quick fix.
Hello I've been thinking if upgrading mine for a SSD however when I open my computer the wire to connect the SSD is not there is there anyway I can buy it from online sources or is it not possible?
Hi, My laptop recently hasn’t been turning on sometimes when I press the power button and doesn’t shut off propely and the blue light and fan stay on. My time also keeps not updating and I have to manually sync it. I am pretty sure it’s a cmos problem. I have taken it apart and everything is connected fine. I believe the cmos battery is underneath the ssd and I tried removing the connector but it wouldn’t come out. Also, when I press down on the laptop sometimes, it turns on . can anyone help me ? I also don’t think you can remove the connector as I watched another video and the wires Broke
You just have to grab the white part of the connector with your nails and wiggle it as you pull. Keep wiggling. It'll eventually come out. Don't force it out or pull the wires.
I have had for almost 2 years and Acer Aspire A515-56, with intel i3-1115G4 , pretty much the same of this video, and it's my worst laptop ever! His Bios takes many seconds to boot (and need a passwd), besides it is always hot and his fan is always on and loud. I don't like it. Do you recommend to repaste it?
@@ItsBinhRepaired hello! Does the bios password have anything in common with heating and fan noise? EDIT: My bad, I've just turned off the bios passwd and now boot time is faster! Thank you so much. So no repaste? Just cleaning?
According to the Acer Blog, Acer does not use Crucial M2 drives in their laptops. But that is ironic because the first advice you get (from the blog) about your Acer laptop IS..... Run Crucial System Scan. WT*O??? The Aspire 5 takes Gen 3 NVME drives. (But will likely also work with Gen 4 drives at Gen 3 speeds.)
They aren't lying. Acer doesn't use Crucial m.2 drives. That doesn't mean you can't use them, it just means they don't. Acer buys bulk crappy SSDs like Intel optane or very low end Samsung drives or something like most other major manufactures. None of them use Crucial from factory. Thats probably what they meant. Lol There's a difference between saying they don't use them and they aren't compatible. I don't use adata or patriot SSDs, that doesn't mean they don't work. I just don't use them. Lol
@@ItsBinhRepaired Your point is well taken. My (recent) experience was; I asked if anyone had used Crucial M2 drives in their Acer laptops. The response was; I got directed to another dialogue about Western Digital drives. That really annoyed me. No "redirect," no "may we suggest?" Just look at this WD drive. (And a list of other M2 drives used by Acer.)
By any chance, do you know what the maximum amount of RAM it can have? I planned on getting a 128gb or 64gb RAM for it, but digging into some more info online, I found that it may only take 20gb or 40gb RAM (max). So I'm at a lost and don't want to buy an incompatible RAM.
@It's Binh (Been) Repaired & Reviewed its the exact model you showed on your video. I think I'm going to settle for a 16GB RAM. I'm hoping it's a compatible one. Thanks for your help
Depends on your model. You'll want to confirm. One slot open other is integrated into the motherboard. You can add 8gb if you want. amzn.to/3ilUOc4 should work
See I’m having the same question should you match the integrated ram so it could run in dual mode or ? Go and get a 16g and have that run idk I’m new to this and confused 😂
According to what I've seen, people said if you get larger and faster RAM, it'll adjust to do dual channel for the matching amount and then the rest will run in single channel.
@@ItsBinhRepaired so it would be best to get 16gb of ram so I can have 20 in total and have the highest spec for this laptop ? Bc that’s what I’m thinking of doing
Opening the case with the help of nails is a sign of the high professionalism of the author of the video.

Likely something broke off and fell in the fan or the metal casing bent and it's touching the propeller.
