Yes, there is a spot for the 2.5inch SATA SSD to the left side of the board. You can clearly see the SATA connector throughout the video. I added 1TB MX500 drive to my laptop.
@@Alonso.240 hello, so it is possible to use the 2.5" hdd slot for 1TB 2.5" SSD and there will be no problem? It is applicable for all variants for A515-56? Mine is A515-56-53rz btw and I am planning on upgrading the storage by adding an ssd through the hdd slot if possible. Thank you

I have the exact model, does it have the back lit keyboard ability, the f8 key is blank also does the size of the ddr4 ram I want to install matter (example 8gb, 4gb, 16gb) and the laptop says 1 of 8 slots used. I don't think it has 8 ram slots built in. So what does that mean, or does it really have 8 slots?
I just picked up one of these, however I've already set it up. If I buy these upgrades is there any other requirements/setting changes/software installs needed to make use of them? I'd like to maximize my laptops potential but I'm concerned I might not have the necessary knowledge to do so?

They should be embarrassed selling it with 128G considering window bloat. Mine came with 512G and I'm adding a 2nd 2T drive. Could i put in a 2nd SSD and clone HD1 then replace HD1 with the new SSD?
So, on the left inside the Laptop: Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-53S3 Laptop exist space for traditional SSD SATA III along with the NVMe comes preinstalled, correct?

Now it has in total 8GB. I think 4gb is soldered and it has 1 slot with 4GB inserted at now.

Sounds like you are using up a fair bit of your ram

Hey bro, i have the same laptop, but, in the task manager, in the apart of Memory, it tells that i have 1 of 2 slots used, so, i disambled my laptop to put another memory, but, in the motherboard i saw an only slot, can u bring me a opinion about that? thanks . :D
Probably the memory that comes with the laptop is soldered

I ordered a 1 TB NVMe ssd to upgrade my laptop. Do you know if I need to take any special steps to make sure the operating system loads and works properly once I switch them out?
yes, you will either need to use software to clone the ssd (also using an external adapter) or you will need to do a fresh windows reinstall

My a515-56-77J7 has 12gb total memory, but there is only 1 4gb ram stick inside, as purchased from Best Buy. Is there 8gb more in there, hidden? And, can I replace the ran stick with any other? The ram stick pre-installed looks the same as the one you had put in, were you upgrading from 8-12gb? Sorry for the long post, but I need answers.
I can't speak to your specific model, but every Aspire I've seen inside has one soldered-in stick of RAM, and one upgrade slot. If you have a 4GB stick in the upgrade slot, you've got an 8GB internal stick. You can verify this by opening Command Prompt as an admin, and running "wmic MemoryChip get BankLabel, Capacity".
you can read more about wmic MemoryChip parameters. IDK what you use your laptop for, but 12GB is enough for most casual users. You've got the i7 model tho, so if you're doing something more intense and want to upgrade, the best bang:buck would probably be replacing that 4GB stick with an 8GB stick with the same speed/timing. You could throw in the biggest SODIMM stick you want, but if they're not matched capacity, it'll be running in single-channel mode (which isn't bad, just less ideal).

@@rickstechrepairs Great! Thanks! 'Cause technicians in the shop from which I bought my laptop say that you can only use hdd for that slot and not ssd. Guess I'll have to find another shop whose technician would agree to install a 2.5" ssd for my laptop. Thank you very much!
@@quiel513It’s incredibly easy to install a 2.5” drive (SSD works fine). All you have to do is snap in the SSD into the caddy and plug in the drive. Simple as that.

If it comes with 4gb by default and 1 empty slot, can i add a 8gb to make it a total of 12? Or does it have to be another 4gb to match the first
i would match it with another 4GB stick, so you get some dual channel performance

one question I want to ask about Acer Aspire 5 (A515-56-36Q8) - how many ram of this can upgrabe. Now : 8GB 2667 MHz , please !
There is one soldered (on-board) 4Gb ddr 4 Ram inside. You can remove the other 4gb Ram from the Ram slot and fix a 16/8gb ddr4/2667Mhz Ram there. The maximum amount of ram this model can upgrade is 20 gb.

i got the same laptop but for some reason the ram does go to 3200mhz i tried to go to bios but the settings arent there might it be that my motherboard doesn’t support somehow i checked and the speed was 2666mhz i added a 16gb ddr4 crucial ram.
the bios wont have xmp settings to make it run at a faster speed

i have the same laptop with 8gb memory. should i only add another 8gb card so they match OR can i add a 16gb to give me 24gb total?
could go either way
8+8gb will give you dual channel performance boost (about 5%)
8+16GB will give you 24gb of ram useful if you actually use the amount

i turned this off after 5 min, nothing said about the speed of the ssd before and after, i put a 3500mps samsung speed in mine , the one it came with was only 900mps, also nothing said about the ram on the other side of the board if its fixed or upgradeable to get 2 x8 for 16gb of ram, do your research then record the video , should be 3 min vid not 10 min,
