one thing that is very counter intuitive in the case of the world design is that grass fields biome has less water available than either of the 2 different desert biomes, if the void space to the south of the grass fields was accessible water, it would have made so much more sense for it to be a lush grass area, as it is right now it only has 2 small little ponds that can house 2-4 water extractors depending on how well you place them in each of the ponds, if you need more water than that you need to go towards the blue crater to the east or to the gold coast to the north-west and somehow pipe the water back to the base. meanwhile the rocky desert has relatively big rivers where you can put water extractors or you could go out to the coast and build your base around there for near unlimited space for water extractors, the sandy dune desert has 3 big oasis' and a lake a top the big mountain towards spire coast as well as a river (not deep/wide enough for water extractors for the most part i believe) from from the oasis at the base of the mountain and some more ponds atop the mountain.

I assume this is something that'd have to wait until a "Satisfactory 2" - but I'd love to see the game world scale to a point where you build cargo ships to transport goods across bodies of water.
Yeah Satisfactory 2 would need to up the scale to a planetary one. Add ships for seas and bigger drones we can drive. A lot more discovery to be had and natural resources matching its geographic locations. They do that and it's a worthy successor
Honestly man, this game already has near unlimited replay-ability, and it takes over 500 hours to "complete" it. Adding a planetary scale to this game and adding ships or even other planets would increase the game's length to be nearing 2000 hours of gameplay on 1 save to "complete" the game. I like satisfactory a lot but ffs can the devs fix the video settings. Nearly melted my computer bc the frame cap was just being ignored. I set the in game cap to 144 but constantly receiving 600fps. Had to go into Adrenaline to turn down the fps.
Not facing the issue, but if you are, report it! Coffee stain are actively asking people to report bugs or make suggestions. Right now their list is extremely small, they arent aware of much game breaking stuff. Go to the qa site and report it with details. They actually read them and do something about it !
The question is: "It's 5am, I feel like I just started playing the game in the evening a short while ago... WTF just happened to the time?!?". xD (fair warning to ppl with video game addiction tendencies, this game is HIGHLY addictive, and CS knows it, so by default there is a reminder every 2 hours to take a break...)
I am quite upset that all upsides of the game (which are many, objectively) are sometimes too ruined by awful game design or just artificial restrictions
Factorio and Satisfactory, is not even remotely the same game. I have met people who refuse to play Satisfactory "because Factorio is better". The notion of having to choose is dumb and the idea that they are competitors is dumb. They have a whole array of very fundamental differences.

The love of the devs putting the work in, trying make the players happy. the work of the early adopters, getting there input in. The humbleness not pushing a big story. but still giving you a good picture This is a game of love, dedication , community and more love. Thank you! coffee stain.
TBH -The spiders are the only part of the game that I don't like. I wish they would just hit the undo button on them and change them into some sort of other non-spider like enemy. IDK, maybe a cave troll, or some sort of dinosaur....Anything other than a spider or snake!!!
Yeah same here, I made all the enemies passive just because of the spiders which is kind of a shame. Though I've played my fair share with them on so I feel like I deserve a break lol The arachnophobia mode was just not enough for me, how they managed to make cats scary is beyond me.
The maths in Satisfactory really isn't anything near challenging. Just basic additions / divisions. And the game gives you a calculator. Nice video though
Disagree, there's so many issues that lie in the fundamentals of the game; the 3d space is great for building but sucks for automation building; verticality is encouraged by ficsit but sucks ass if you don't use flight cheats. Vehicles are still janky as all hell, and instead of fixing their pathfinding, adding more features and making them worthwhile, they just... phase through stuff when they get stuck. I'm not even going to start about trains and train tracks, the rivers of bugs, how the game is designed to demand your time by making building tedious, nonsensical enemies, "blueprint" system that honestly feels like more of an insult to proper/actual blueprint systems and so on. It's by no means a bad game, but it's certainly not a masterpiece, much less a "masterclass" in game design. But hey, just like the video; that's my opinion.
I highly disagree. You will get the ability to fly and construct in mid game, does not take very long to get to that point. What that time before that will do is TEACH you the mechanics of the game, forcing you to think, make mistakes, redo and learn. And I have tractors running all over the map from as soon as I unlock them, no problem with pathing whatsoever if you create paths that does not collide with each other. (intersections are fine, as long as they are just that, 90 degree intersections) Trains work perfectly, sounds more like you fail to understand the mechanics of path signals... To be honest, most of the things you type sounds like you not able to understand the game mechanics... Sorry buddy, pretty much all of this is skill issues, not game issues...
@@rhael42 @marcusjohansson668 I've got well over 200 hours, I've got legs to stand on when it comes to criticizing the game. I'm not new to automation games either (combined around 1500+ hours, without including technical minecraft modpacks). 1. The entire idea of forcing players to learn and make mistakes is absolutely valid, but that has nothing to do with vertical mobility; you can learn and make mistakes from up high. Also, I'd argue that the hoverpack is gotten in the early-late or late-mid game, and not in the mid-game. 2. Fair enough if you've gotten tractors to work for you, but I've tried to get them to work with little success no matter what I do; my argument is not that they *can't* work, but that *when they don't* their solution was to just let them phase through everything to resume their track, which is a lazy solution. Also, if I use it incorrectly, why isn't there more in-game information or in-game tools on how to use it correctly? 3. The issue with trains is not that I don't understand rail signals, it's the fact they're glorified long-range belts; they're too inflexible. I still use them for extremely long-distance transport, but it feels like a belt could do the same job, consistently and without much problem. As i said in my first comment, I'm not saying it's a bad game, nor am I attacking anyone that likes it; I like the game too and am thoroughly enjoying my playthrough of 1.0. But everyone keeps praising the game while ignoring issues & bugs. Some small, some big, though I have only crashed once, and i figured it's worth giving my two cents.
It's not quite perfect is it. It does not support UK English and given there are twice as many UK English speakers worldwide than US English speakers it only leads to questionable conduct by the devs.

@@JackYaps I HATE the big ones! I’m not arachnophobic, but the jump scares in the dark get me every time
@@chrisbayus5189 Even the arachnophobia mode ones scare me. Those two-shot black fluffy png demons...
I had just under 700 hours before 1.0 and now almost 900 hours
I'm waiting for a mod that brings back the original story.
Any chance I get to say it, when I see an early access game... Look at what Coffee Stain studio did, with Sastisfactory road to release.
ada got big mad at me for using the mam to fast
i have been playing a lot of satisfactory on my new world of 1.0 i have more than 200 hours already
I like satisfactory a lot but ffs can the devs fix the video settings. Nearly melted my computer bc the frame cap was just being ignored. I set the in game cap to 144 but constantly receiving 600fps. Had to go into Adrenaline to turn down the fps.
That’s weird, my frame rate cap has no issues, did you try Vsync?
Do u have an amd gpu?
Not facing the issue, but if you are, report it! Coffee stain are actively asking people to report bugs or make suggestions. Right now their list is extremely small, they arent aware of much game breaking stuff. Go to the qa site and report it with details. They actually read them and do something about it !
Good video. Game good too. Yesh.
THEY NEED TO ADD A GOLFING EXPANSION!!
I'm REALLY curious how this will run on xbox.
I say let’s game it out should test ot
16:20 I assume that excludes the people that bought the game while it was exclusive to Epic.
Yep, excluding epic people, numbers absolutely could have been 200k+
The question is: "It's 5am, I feel like I just started playing the game in the evening a short while ago... WTF just happened to the time?!?". xD
(fair warning to ppl with video game addiction tendencies, this game is HIGHLY addictive, and CS knows it, so by default there is a reminder every 2 hours to take a break...)
Yep, I made a turbo fuel factory and suddenly it was 4am
Im at 200 hours since 1.0 came out :)
Satisfactory is an ok game. I have only played 3000 hours but I'm gonna play a bit more because I think it will get better.
Underlying narative? The factory must grow.
100 hours in 2 weeks. Yes. It's one of the best games out there.
I am quite upset that all upsides of the game (which are many, objectively) are sometimes too ruined by awful game design or just artificial restrictions
Satiafactory is the best!
I may have spent 30 hours in one week on this game alone ...
I enjoy 1.0 but my daily schedule will be cursed when I try to play Space Age AND 1.0 at the same time! Send help!
Factorio and Satisfactory, is not even remotely the same game. I have met people who refuse to play Satisfactory "because Factorio is better".
The notion of having to choose is dumb and the idea that they are competitors is dumb.
They have a whole array of very fundamental differences.
"the goat simulator guys" i dont want to be an asshole and stuff but technically coffe stain north did satis and they didnt work on goat sim. coffe stain studios is the publisher i believe, its very complicated
I’ve had mixed responses.
Goat Sim 3 is attributed to CSNorth
Satisfactory is attributed to CS
other goat sims are attributed to CS it’s all so confusing lmao
the plants are not plants that kill you... go close and you realise they got eyes
Wait…. What
Very very very good game
Been playing since day one everyday. I'm so fucked😢😂😂
I really love this game... i went off and on during beta,,, and enjoyed a few building sessioens... but since 1.0 im addicted,
ADA is such a ... bitch ^^ i love her. And puzzling about inputs output logistics... you really wonder ,... are you retarted like ADA says or is stuff that complicated,
The exploration is just top notch. i still feel frightened going to a new cave in a new biome.
its as challengeing as you make it. if you just F everything up and you dont give a damn how it looks. you good! if you want to make it clean and satisfactory... you have work to do! Damn a lot of work!
And the most imporant part. :
You can feel the love. The love of the devs putting the work in, trying make the players happy. the work of the early adopters, getting there input in.
The humbleness not pushing a big story. but still giving you a good picture
This is a game of love, dedication , community and more love.
Thank you! coffee stain.
TBH -The spiders are the only part of the game that I don't like. I wish they would just hit the undo button on them and change them into some sort of other non-spider like enemy. IDK, maybe a cave troll, or some sort of dinosaur....Anything other than a spider or snake!!!
The spiders are terrifying.
Thank god for lol cats
Yeah same here, I made all the enemies passive just because of the spiders which is kind of a shame. Though I've played my fair share with them on so I feel like I deserve a break lol
The arachnophobia mode was just not enough for me, how they managed to make cats scary is beyond me.
I personally like the spiders, they add a different level of challenge (if u think the game as a exploration game)
3:18 not true the "friendly" ai is insulting you
Im confused, you don't sound Canadian!
I’m Australian! I just like South Park 😂
600h... 😭😭😭🤤
I would agree if fucking fluid system wouldnt be soooo fucking trash
The maths in Satisfactory really isn't anything near challenging. Just basic additions / divisions. And the game gives you a calculator. Nice video though
sry but there is just so much time for factory game, so since im already using my precious time with factorio so i wont get satisfactory
Good? Absolutely. Perfection? Far, far from it. The only thing that saves this game is player-created mods, and sometimes not even then.
(intersections are fine, as long as they are just that, 90 degree intersections)
Trains work perfectly, sounds more like you fail to understand the mechanics of path signals...
To be honest, most of the things you type sounds like you not able to understand the game mechanics...
Sorry buddy, pretty much all of this is skill issues, not game issues...
@@marcusjohansson668 yeah I don't think that guy even played the game.
still use them for extremely long-distance transport, but it feels like a belt could do the same job, consistently and without much problem.
They’re open to community translations, but what specifically don’t you understand in US English?
