Those perks will always come at a price. Often that price is good enough, but don't ever let those perks blind you. If you see a ping pong table or foosball when entering your interview, or if they promise you a valet or free dry cleaning, they are going to expect you to remain at your terminal, churning out code, producing, 27.65 hours a day, 8 and a half days a week, 6 weeks a month, 5 months a quarter.
Not necessarily. Maybe some companies do that, but the tech industry is an insane buyers market when it comes to employment. People do tend to work longer hours than your typical 9-5, but even without the perks they pay more than enough to justify that. The perks are just a way of getting people to go work there instead of another company.

Once you enter their cubicle maze, it will not matter. You won't even realize you're just a rat in a cage looking for some cheese. Ha ha ha. That's all we are, just rats in a cage.
