- This is a walk through of my first wagon to dual cab Ute chop.
2002 S3 GU Y61 Nissan Patrol, home build.
Dual cab, GU, Patrol, TB48, custom chop, conversion, fabrication, welding, panel beating, home job, DIY, chassis, chassis modifications, Ute, Ute tray.
There are a lot of do's and dont's when it comes to welding chassis you have done well but you never weld across the top or bottom side to side. front to backs is not bad but side to side can crack even with the fish plates
I have definitely learnt alot since this build, there are alot of tricks to the trade, its good to share our ideas and knowlege, thanks for the advice mate.

Hey Jean, your 1999 y61 should be the same. I cut mine 30mm behind the child restraint points on the floor of the cab. Using a 360° laser, I marked the sides. The roof is cut directly behind 3/4 roof lining, which lines up with a roof crossmember.

Hey Mate, Thanks for your interest, there will be an update video in the next week or two, the build is currently in the body and paint stages, which is taking longer than originally thought due to addition dents needing attention. With a bit of luck it will be getting pieced back together soon, ready for the engineering inspection.
