Really a great shot gun for the money, but the Savage Stevens security has more features with a pistol grip may even be a better bargain. I have seen torture tests and it performed well. China can make some really good guns and knives like SOG. But I have to say I like that 88.

The RS-22 is almost phenomenal, the only things about it are the lack of aftermarket support, aftermarket mags that actually work well and other stocks. People crap on the Hi-Point all day long and yet it still functions without issues. My first Hi-Point was the 995 Carbine from 2002 and I still have it today and it eats ammo like no tomorrow. Went and purchased the .45 ACP Carbine last year and it eats. I have a Glock 21 Gen 5 and it is having failures left and right. WTF, right! Glock should never have failures but yet it does and it cost me over $600.
Hp 45acp. Never a problem. Yes its big and heavy, i have big hands so dainty pistols i cant use. Also if it was out of ammo, it makes a good club because it's actually made of metal unlike other companies plastic guns.
It is about trade off and compromises. If you are going to have a blowback operating system, then you will need the size and mass to absorb the recoil. Hi Points work well. And they are more acurate than the majority of shooters holding them. They have there place and roll.

No one can deny the Remington is a better-made firearm, but it was twice as expensive and is lots heavier to lug around. Actually, I'm less inclined to take the 870 to the range as often as the other two because it's so pretty and I don't want to ding it up, so the Savage and the Maverick get almost all the fun..
I had both a maverick 88 and a Hipoint C9 and loved them both. The mav was just as good with its functionality as my mossberg 500 but didn't have a safety switch. The C9 was accurate, comfortable, didn't have much recoil and even though people say it's balance is bad I thought it was just fine. The 7 rnd mags kinda stink but you can use higher capacity mags mage for the highpoint carbine with no mods. It's basically the Toyota tercel of the gun world. Cheap and reliable.
My first semi auto .22 rifle was a mossberg plinkster. It was an absolute nightmare!!! Failure to feed about every 7th round!! I returned it to the shop I bought it from and got a Ruger 10/22, best .22 rifle I’ve ever owned
