I feel uplifted by your new upbeat approach this week… 👍🏻 These changes just make sense … can’t wait to see you needing a bigger board for the cars sold!!
just started watching your videos, really enjoying them, a little bit of comedy, the ups and downs of business, but more importantly, nice to see to real honest car dealers look forward to the next installment
My brother sold cars when i was young and for my 11th birthday he gave me a mark 4 mini to learn to drive in and it was red with a white roof we called it the Coke can. The car was payment for me being cheap labour cleaning the cars he bought. Tho I loved being able to move the cars for cleaning so probably would have done it for nothing 😂
Good improvement to the HQ lads. Keep making small changes and improvements .. do something good once a month and in 12 months your place will be 12 x better
Love it guys, feeling the energy. I agree with going down the Mini route, as much as I've always swerved them because of the fear of their reliability, it's James background, he has the knowledge about them and there's a captive market for them. When I bought a Clubman a few years ago it was from a dedicated independent mini dealer and that did give me the confidence to buy from him. I also have an older 94 original mini like Dave which I intend to feature in my future episodes. I also agree with Dave about it being like a drug. I'm at the start of my journey in this game, but already it's all I can think about 24/7. I love the auction, I love making a car good and presentable again, and of course getting that reward of a sale and moving onto the next one. And on my final point, have you thought about maybe doing a book corner or eBay store on books cos Dave's sold me more books than he has cars 😂
Haha nice one Daniel, Ive got plenty more books to recommend! but tbf obstacle is the way is probably the best one for a car dealer with the the ups and downs
Exactly mate. I cut my teeth as a MINI Genius and sales advisor for around 5 years. Massive passion for the cars and the brand. I’ve owned 8 and driven 100’s of them across each generation and probably every single body style and engine too if I sat and thought about it hard enough- if there is one car make we can be experts on, it’s this one! And MINI customers are a particular breed and I know how to handle them. Being able to talk the cars up is so much easier for me than on another copy and paste SUV.
I can feel your passion for them just by your reply. I’m a fan , we’ve had 4 F series and the wife wants another but she will need to wait at least a year. The Fs are the best like you say and i’m not sure yet about the new model Hatch and Countryman.
As a customer, i would travel further to veiw a car inside rather than outside . I know this may sound stupid but a mirror on a stick might be usefull for when you want to showcase a really clean example. Also forecourt colour is eye candy to a potential customer Mazda/renualt red, nissan yellow, vauxhall green, ford blue, etc.
If you know the product, then it makes sense to sell them. Glad you were upbeat this week, and I hope it continues. Smashed it out with the sales and deposits. I do like the 1 series so I hope you get rid of it. Loving the content
hey david and the team love the channel and the honest and realism of the day trade in cars and in business keep it up hope your goals are achieved also shout out to shifting metal Joe came you two should definitely do a duo TH-cam video at each other dealerships that would be cool
… Don't call it a comeback, I been Sellin for years I'm rockin' my gears, puttin' suckers in fear Makin' the tears rain down like a monsoon Listen to the engine go boom 😂
You want to look into this new miss sold finance thing bud, if finance companies have to pay out they'll be clawing commission back, it's going to be the new ppi thing.
Hi I wish you had of promoted your podcast you done it’s brilliant maybe I missed you mentioning it but you should tell all your subscribers, listing to the one when your going to be a mini specialist guessing you pivoted a bit ,but very informative

The general lighting in this vlog looks quite dark & unnatural, especially inside… or perhaps it’s just the camera settings that need adjusting? I’m enjoying the vlogs👍
We work on an appointment only basis, so the customer has the price and information about the car from the website and Autotrader. Price boards and spec sheets are just extra admin when we are constantly moving the pitch about. Plus it helps to weed out the time wasters because we get genuine enquiries on individual cars then- not just someone walking on to pick a handful of cars they might be interested in, and mess about test driving to find what they like. It means I can qualify them better on their first enquiry then and 90% of the time, if they’ve made the effort to pick up the phone and book an appointment, they like the car enough to buy it all being well on the day.
@@cardealerpro we both like them too- that’s the beauty of it. Sell what we like and in today’s internet market, we don’t have to worry about not having the right car for a customer walking onto the pitch. People will travel for the right car!
Hands down the best car trade channel there is.
Yes agreed 100%,its not just about the cars more about life and its ups and downs...
Thanks chaps

I agree about selling Mini’s , you know the product. Whilst they don’t appeal to everyone they do have a following.

@@cardealerpro positive mentality, I believe in the team
Why don't you guys put the lights on in the showroom? Everything always looks so gloomy and dark. The prep area should be brightly lit too.

Its just the camera settings but we'll get it sorted
Thomas eddison was done for insurance fraud cos of that blaze
I’m pretty sure Henry Ford lent him the money to get him back up and running
@cardealerpro I heard that too. Correct
Love your videos, might be worth investing in a mike or too just to get the quality up a bit.

I literally had the same thought but realised what I use probably won’t work for the camera that’s being used. I’ve got dead simple lavalier BOYA mics
