The Andromeda-Milky Way Collision Has Begun!

Andromeda is the closest spiral galaxy to Us. Located 2.5 million light-years from Earth. It has a diameter of 220,000 light-years. Contains more than 1 trillion Stars. Twice the number of stars in our Milky Way.
At the speed of 110 kilometres per second. Andromeda is approaching our Milky Way. And they will collide in 4.5 billion years. Finally both the galaxies will merge. And form a giant elliptical galaxy called Milkdromeda.
All the galaxies have a big spherical Halo. Which is a gaseous envelope covering the entire galaxy. Andromeda also has a very large Halo. Which can stretch up to 2 million light-years. A new study shows that, Halo of Andromeda and the Milky Way are in collision. And every day we're getting closer to the final merger.
