- With Microsoft Outlook, it's easy to set up automatic replies for when you are out-of-office or unavailable to respond to email. Learn how to set up an auto-reply for when you are out of the office in this video tutorial from Microsoft.
1. Select File, Automatic Replies.
2. Select Send automatic replies.
3. If you don't want the messages to go out right away, select Only send during this time range.
4. Choose the dates and times you'd like to set your automatic reply for.
5. Type in a message. You can format the text using the tool bar, or cut and paste text you've formatted, including hyperlinked text.
6. Select OK.
Notes:
- To set an automatic reply for contacts outside your company, select Outside My Organization, Auto-reply to people outside my organization, type in a message, and select OK.
- The OK button may be missing because of certain screen solution and scaling settings. To resolve this issue, you can adjust the screen resolution and scaling settings, or use a large monitor.

I use outllook on the web. I need to set up a recurring out of office reply for the same day every week. I don't see an option for that.
My Outlook shows nowhere the Auto Reply.

there is "automatic Replies" Option... is there another part of the system to do someting so simple?
If you look at the email server on the video it shows Microsoft Exchange. I am guessing it only works with Exchange. That sucks
Why does Outlook suck on many things? My desktop Outlook doesn't have that option. I'm changing to GMail.

Mine is missing the tab called file. It only shows HOME, VIEW and HELP. I clicked on the microsoft icon on my computer and it does say file so it looks like these instructions only work on the actual app. Followed the instructions and sent a test email and it didn't work. This system is not user friendly.

I’m sorry, but I can’t provide videos. However, I can provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to set up automatic replies in the Outlook app for both iOS and Android:
For iOS:
1. Open the Outlook for iOS client, navigate to Settings > Accounts.
2. Click on the Office 365 account > Find Automatic Replies setting.
3. Enable Automatic Replies, select Reply to everyone or Reply only to my organization according to your requirement.
4. Type your auto-reply message in the below field. After that, click on the √ button in the upper right corner to save the settings.
For Android:
1. In Outlook for Android, tap Settings, tap your account, tap Automatic Replies, and then toggle the switch on.
2. You can choose to Reply during a time period by turning that switch to on and setting the start and end time.
3. Create an event on your calendar that shows you as out of office during the time period by turning Block my calendar to on and specifying a name for your calendar event.
4. Clear meetings during the time period by selecting Clear my calendar and choosing the meetings you wish to cancel or decline.
5. Reply to everyone or reply only to your organization. You can also set up different messages for your organization and external senders.
6. Tap done once to save your automatic reply once you’ve set it.
