    This video is absolutely evergreen. Every time when I am on leave, I will switch on the auto reply mode in my inbox by watching this video again and again. Thank you so much.

    Hello etop, thanks for this information, is there any possibility for making 2 different auto replies

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vishal - you can do internal and external auto replies fairly easily.
      If you have a specific need you might be able to build rule sets that reply to different people with different answers. It seems like it would be pretty cumbersome unless you have clear groups already you would be sending different replies to.

  • @chrisnelson441

    I'm confused. Why not just go to File>Automatic Replies>set the dates>type the message>hit save?

      I was thinking the same. Very old school method.

    • @davnbro

      This is the method for people NOT on an exchange account (like imap). The option you mention is only available when you are working with an exchange account.

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davnbro Correct. We are making video's for both exchange and imap/pop accounts.

    Does this reply to every message until you remove the rule? I recently created one in a similar way and it only worked for a day!

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does depend on how you set it up. It should apply to all email messages until you turn the rule off. You can put time based
      restrictions on it that could have limited it to only one day.

    can this be done with office 360 at home

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe this video references the way to do out of office with any version of Outlook so it should work with the Home version of Office 365! :)

    I don't remember that it used to be this complicated.

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's only this complicated using the older methods of email like IMAP/POP. Modern methods like gsuite(in the browser) or exchange are much easier.

    OK can someone explain to me if multiple people use the same computer at work will outlook automatic reply work or do I have to leave it running my login????? Thanks

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Eliazar,
      It really depends on if you are using hosted exchange or an older style POP email account. If exchange/o365 you are able to change profiles and close outlook and it will continue running. If it's POP outlook has to be running for it to work.

    When I set up a specific rule to automatically reply to emails that are being received, only 1 automatic reply is sent to the sender. How do I set the rule to have the automatic reply sent every time the sender sends an email?

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chonte - Is outlook always open when these automatic replies aren't happening? With this method I believe it should function as you are suggesting with every time someone emails it will respond. I have found that can sometimes cause issues especially if it's an automated response type system.

    Hello sir

  • @kennethkirk4944
    @kennethkirk4944 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wait, so this only works if my Outlook is on. If I'm not in the office, my computer is off, so Outlook can't do this. Right? How is it that I get automatic out-of-office responses from other people? Are they leaving their computers on the whole time?

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kenneth - With this method you are correct it requires the PC to be on with outlook running. However this is why we recommend running an exchange based email system (preferably o365) so it can be set from your phone, outlook, or the web very easily typically 3-4 clicks and your computer can be off.

  • @518rangernic6
    @518rangernic6 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It will only work as long as you stay logged in to your outlook account. That is useless if you won't have your computer on.

    • @eTopTechnologyInc
      @eTopTechnologyInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is true. Most modern email accounts like exchange or gsuite have an option to have this done via an out of office function which isn’t dependent on outlook being open.
