I noticed that Declan Rice has been much aggressive this season in his offensive game since Graeme said that Rice needed to add more goals, and I’ve also noticed an increased output and aggressive attacking approach from Jack Grealish recently since Graeme highlighted the difference between Doku and Grealish. I’m not saying it’s 100% because of Graeme 🙂, but does Graeme agree that both players have picked up their offensive games?

Southgate isn't the best manager in the world, nor the best possible England manager, but he is far and away the best England manager I've seen in my 45 years.
Why didn't they address the elephant in the room as regards the lack of world class players in the national team ( and this applies to Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic too). Years ago the league teams consisted of home-grown talent that were outstanding, and consequently the players got lots of game time to improve and hone their skills. Now, there is a distinct lack of opportunities because the owners / managers buy too many foreigners from around the globe at exhorbitant prices, and they block the path to locals.

Easy answer why Scotland aren't as good. In Souness' time every top flight English team had 3 or 4 or more Scots in their team. The Premier is now Globalised giving no chance for Scots to learn trade at top flight. Same can be said of Ireland

Southgate would be lucky to get a Championship job in my view. In the few instances when he has had to impact a gmae by making a change, he has failed miserably. His misgivings are masked, for the most part, by the class players England have at the moment.

Unpopular opinion: England is a weak team. You cannot win a tournament with Maguire, Shaw, Pickford, Kalvin Philiphs, Henderson, Rashford, Grealish, Foden, Madison. Succes for England it should be Semifinals. Southgate is massively underapreciated. Englishmans, enjoy this period with Southgate.
