I've been straightening my hair all my life, getting hair straightening treatments- the whole works, and I finally said enough. This explains a lot. Got a new leave in conditioner couple weeks back when it was still warmish and my hair felt the best it had done in months but as soon as it got cold, it just hasn’t been working out

This video was so perfectly timed. I live in central NH and we have already had several snowstorms and temps in the teens. I live near a lake and it is always windy. My house has 2 humidifiers, yet it’s always dry. I just did a protein deep condition today and followed with a moisture based conditioner. I never use leave in because it weighs down my hair. But it’s so dry I did today. I checked my products and most, if not all, have glycerin of some sort in them. Ugh! But I’m googling the products you demonstrated immediately and try to get them delivered ASAP. Thanks!!!

I was a swimmer in high school. After a morning practice one time I stepped outside to get breakfast somewhere, and my hair instantly felt crunchy. I thought I hadn't fully rinsed my shampoo, but when I got into my car it was wet again. My hair had literally frozen, so that is absolutely true.

Your product probably does have Glycerin in it! Could explain why it works well in the summer but not in the winter! Try using no Glycerin and see how it helps xo

I've been trying to embrace my curls more this past year. My hair has years of breakage due to brushing it out, keeping it tightly pulled back, and occasional straightening. I've been binge watching your videos for a couple of days and have a few questions. You mention in a few videos about lightening the hair, what about darkening? Besides my roots (light brown), my hair is never lighter than a dark red/brown. Also, what advice do you have for those who workout, specifically with wearing headbands, hair up, and sweating? I feel like I can't go a day without wetting my hair in the shower due to gym lifestyle.

A little confused do we need to get rid of any products including shampoo and conditioner and deep conditioners as well as styling products ?😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Can you tell us what you washed your hair with? I looked on the Google for shampoo without glycerin and had no luck.
Hey beautiful!! To answer your question, I wouldn't really worry too much about glycerin in your shampoos and conditioners. You should primarily worry about the products that you will be leaving in your hair. Such as leave-in conditioners and styling products! I do EVERYTHING wrong. I'll work on those praying hands haha. Will brushing product cause my "wave" to be less defined? Can hard water cause hair to become more dry? Added more conditioner and used some of your tips. I'm beginning to think I have curly hair not wavy hair. It's just so coarse, thick and frizzy and no one ever gives tips I have no idea what to do. I live in Wyoming, which has an extremely dry climate, so you add a cold winter onto that, and it’s a nightmare for curly hair! I just began my journey into finding products to manage and enhance my coarse curly hair, and I’m really struggling. Mell, I’ve got to tell you... I’ve just found you (new subscriber because I loved your personality and you’re extremely knowledgeable on curly hair) and I’ve literally been binging your videos and saving several to refer back to, you’re my curly hair Bible now!! I actually just went all out in search of new hair products (also how I found you, searching for good advice after being so frustrated with my hair) and spent $126 on Aveda products lol BUUUUUUT I JUST CAME UPON THIS VIDEO! Fall and cold temps are here (I live in Michigan) and unfortunately I bought the Aveda Be Curly Curl Cream! So my question is: So just don’t use glycerin products? Is there an “opposite” counterpart to glycerin that we SHOULD use/look for in our winter hair products? This video was so perfectly timed. I live in central NH and we have already had several snowstorms and temps in the teens. I live near a lake and it is always windy. My house has 2 humidifiers, yet it’s always dry. I just did a protein deep condition today and followed with a moisture based conditioner. I never use leave in because it weighs down my hair. But it’s so dry I did today. I checked my products and most, if not all, have glycerin of some sort in them. Ugh! But I’m googling the products you demonstrated immediately and try to get them delivered ASAP. Thanks!!!

I love the build up buster. I’ve never used it on my hair only on my daughter and it works amazing. I’ve tried the aveda be curly enhancer sample size years ago and didn’t really care of it. Definitely gonna give it another try.

I was a swimmer in high school. After a morning practice one time I stepped outside to get breakfast somewhere, and my hair instantly felt crunchy. I thought I hadn't fully rinsed my shampoo, but when I got into my car it was wet again. My hair had literally frozen, so that is absolutely true.

I just recorded my second video that comes out next week. It's all about dew point and humectants because even just a week in my hair feels so amazing without glycerin! I'll have to look into that mousse gel because I'm not happy with what I have right now.

I’ve learnt so much about my hair over the years but my 8 year old daughter has tight curly coily hair but hers is way thicker and more tighter than mine. I struggle to find products to use in her hair - should I just use the same products as mine? Will her hair be more delicate as she is a child? I actually have the opposite happen to me?? During summer im able to manage my hair better, during winter I'm a frizzy mess :'(
Your product probably does have Glycerin in it! Could explain why it works well in the summer but not in the winter! Try using no Glycerin and see how it helps xo
Interesting, I stayed away from glycerin in the summer and have been using it since the bottom fell out in the Midwest! I’ll be checking my ingredients now, ty.

Question: because of you i want to use a cream without glycerin. The shea moisture coconut & hibiscus has glycerin in it: but it says ‘glycerin (vegetable)’ is that diffrent? Can i use this now for the winter or something else?

I've been trying to embrace my curls more this past year. My hair has years of breakage due to brushing it out, keeping it tightly pulled back, and occasional straightening. I've been binge watching your videos for a couple of days and have a few questions. You mention in a few videos about lightening the hair, what about darkening? Besides my roots (light brown), my hair is never lighter than a dark red/brown. Also, what advice do you have for those who workout, specifically with wearing headbands, hair up, and sweating? I feel like I can't go a day without wetting my hair in the shower due to gym lifestyle.
For those of us who live in a relatively dry area... about what humidity level is considered "humid"? because this might need to be my year round plan

A little confused do we need to get rid of any products including shampoo and conditioner and deep conditioners as well as styling products ?😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Can you tell us what you washed your hair with? I looked on the Google for shampoo without glycerin and had no luck.
Hey beautiful!! To answer your question, I wouldn't really worry too much about glycerin in your shampoos and conditioners. You should primarily worry about the products that you will be leaving in your hair. Such as leave-in conditioners and styling products!

I do EVERYTHING wrong. I'll work on those praying hands haha. Will brushing product cause my "wave" to be less defined? Can hard water cause hair to become more dry? Added more conditioner and used some of your tips. I'm beginning to think I have curly hair not wavy hair. It's just so coarse, thick and frizzy and no one ever gives tips I have no idea what to do. I live in Wyoming, which has an extremely dry climate, so you add a cold winter onto that, and it’s a nightmare for curly hair! I just began my journey into finding products to manage and enhance my coarse curly hair, and I’m really struggling. It’s been two months since I’ve been on my hair journey following you, I am loving every bit of it and yes you have to put in the time and effort to get it really good. Mell, I’ve got to tell you... I’ve just found you (new subscriber because I loved your personality and you’re extremely knowledgeable on curly hair) and I’ve literally been binging your videos and saving several to refer back to, you’re my curly hair Bible now!! I actually just went all out in search of new hair products (also how I found you, searching for good advice after being so frustrated with my hair) and spent $126 on Aveda products lol BUUUUUUT I JUST CAME UPON THIS VIDEO! Fall and cold temps are here (I live in Michigan) and unfortunately I bought the Aveda Be Curly Curl Cream! So my question is: So just don’t use glycerin products? Is there an “opposite” counterpart to glycerin that we SHOULD use/look for in our winter hair products?
