I love the scene with Paul Revere's knife. When a person loses their Parents at a young age, having an older person tell them that they are proud of them is tremendous. It's a point in time that will never be forgotten by the young person.
@@derrickstorm6976 he didn't have a son and didn't like his first son-in-law, so Charlie was a good neutral choice. Remember, Bartlett is a politician.
I am watching this on Thursday November 28, 2024. It just happens to be the birthday of two special people, a cousin and a very special lady the wife of my oldest and dearest friend. Happy birthday Jo and Andi. Also to my American cousins Happy Thanksgiving Day!
Weird tidbit of info for anyone curious....this is a common "blooper" that you'll find alot with older shows. They were shot widescreen but televisions at the time were a squarer ratio so editors left in mistakes that would be cut off when viewed by television audiences. At the time they didn't realize that in the near future televisions would move to a widescreen setup, or that TH-cam would exist and default to widescreen format and the mistakes would be visible to everyone.
No ones going to talk about how the secret service would never and I mean EVER allow ANYONE that close to the President of the United States with a fixed blade? Lol.
@ right and then he gave it to someone. I’m telling you secret service would have been there to take it, secure it, and give it to him when he leaves the building.
Dinners at the White House must be pure hell for the secret service! Or do they serve all meat pre-cut? Maybe a secret service agent has to stand behind everyone during dinner; holding the knife and cutting their meat for them! 😂
So the AI putting these clips together just took it's latest uploads marginally connected by food and called it Thanksgiving? I love this show, but these clips are not doing it any favors.
Thanksgiving? It was Gods idea And with the Passover and cross He pardoned us. Hope in God. Taste and see the lord is good even when life is crazy. Psalm 34. Written when David had to drool on his beard to escape a dangerous mid east terrorist pretending to be crazy. Happy Thanksgiving. And by that I mean thanks to God. The first thanks in the Bible is suggested by God with the communal meal Thanksgiving offering in Leviticus No thanks in genesis exodus but God shows the important with the communal meal Thanksgiving Thanksgiving meal

Mensch, mentor, pastor, (where's my thesaurus). It does not cost a dime to pay attention.
Still, a family heirloom for over 230 years you'd give to your firstborn son (since it's a grand steak knife), they had him give to a former boyfriend
@@derrickstorm6976It must be remembered, however, that Charlie was the son Jed never had.

Charlie's face when he hears Paul Revere.
Quite possibly the best scene in the series. I can watch it time and again.
"If the Oscar's where like that, I'd watch"
Me too
That was a very snobby line 😂
Snobby?! Not by a long shot. For those of us who stopped watching the Oscars years ago, like me, we're with President Bartlett on this one.

I loved the conversation Barlett and Vinick had about church and religion.
Watch this every year I'm so glad I own the DVDs
The moment you realize you are holding priceless history in your hands.
Butterball hot line! Wonderful service…
Soft on turkeys 😂
Definitely going to watch from the beginning. Happy Thanksgiving everyone at the West Wing 🦃💯🥂🤗👏🏽
I notice that Doug didn't get the heirloom carving knife, despite being Liz's husband for many years and father of Jed's grandchildren.
Shouldn't that be Doug's father who would be giving him a carving knife?
Yeah bc Doug is a doofus
Read into that what you will 😅
Charlie was the closest he came to having a son, especially a son he was proud of
If the oscars were like that, EVERYONE would watch
HAPPY
PHIL BEHARND
DAY, EVERYBODY!!😁
Charlie was like a son to him.
1:27 door closing sound but door is still opened
That’s CJ clapping her hands together

I'm not going to get a reputation for being soft on turkeys am I?

What the hell does the Death Tax scene have to do with Thanksgiving?
What season and episode was this

It's called family. Live with one sometime, because that's what Thanksgiving is about.
