First time I see and hear Vini Poncia,
who I very much admire for
    "Sure Know Something" and
"I Was Made For Lovin' You".
Thank you, Vini for your contribution to KISS greatness🌹

What a great guy, with a "story to tell"! Too bad, that guys like him, who contributed sooo much to the music we grew up with, get so little recognition! I think they probably have a solid, deep, healthy self confidence, because THEY know, what they have created! ...kind of like Batman or other superheroes, who live a secret second live! 🙃

I’ve been wanting to re-hook up with Vinny Poncia for years. I was the chief engineer of his four studio up on 256th St. and Broadway that he owned with Peter Anders. As a young songwriter and recording engineer, I learned so much about music and recording from these two. Always been wanting to thank you in person after all these years for those early days as a 20 year old working with the best there is in that little studio.

Incredible memories! Vinny has great recall and interesting stories of what was happening in the music world on Broadway in Manhattan in the late 60s. What a great writer! I started seeing at 16 with reparata and the delrons. Early memories of those days are exactly what Vinny is speaking about. Thank you for the Memories Vinny, during the special time which can never be duplicated again.

Andreoli and Poncia made some beautiful music of their own as The Tradewinds, The Innocence, etc.
Sometimes they get compared to groups like The Beach Boys and The Four Seasons, but to me they always had a distinct unique sound of their own, with particularly cogent melodies.

Oh, thanks for this interview, Stefan. Never seen Vini Poncia until this moment. Love his work with Ringo in 70's. Would be glad to hear some stories about that from Vini but maybe it's still on the way)

I can see why Peter Criss wanted to work with him.

Vini said, Peter (1978) was easy to work with. No wonder, Vini was a musical authority. And both have Italian ancestry.

Sorry, he might be a great guy and a legend as you call him, but IMO: Vini Poncia was the worst thing that ever happened to KISS. I don't know what they were thinking after hearing that God Awful PC Solo Album

Legend? This guy is half a fraud. Outside of KISS' "I Was Made For lovin' You", he wrote a couple of very minor hits for Ringo, produced his worst albums to date, ripped off Ray Parker Jr's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing", tore Peter Criss away from KISS, produced KISS' worst albums, co-wrote the song that may have been a hit but tore the band apart, produced only one hit album for Melissa Manchester, all the others were failures, produced the worst of the Tycoon albums, made claim to writing 60s hits but nothing anyone is aware of, has many great stories but no one can really back any of it up. If he is such a legend, why does his Wikipedia page take up a few short lines? The guy onlly seems like a legend in your mind and his.
