I think it was harder hitting for him to say “this is all your fault” only to realize he’s talking about himself a split second before he turns the gun.
Bella’s acting when Henry shot himself is gut wrenching. It really puts the “this is a child” right in your face. I love it, it made everything so human. Poor Ellie 🤧
As a viewer that hasn't played the games, that ending was truly shocking and brutal. The fact that they escaped the city despite all odds, and were basically home free before it all ended in 30 seconds was the worst.
@@HIGHTS Felt a lil different this time having seen the game version many times. I knew what was coming >:D But knowing new-comers feel the exact way I did watching years back makes me appreciate this even more. Such a good show man
Agreed, I haven't played the game either so I absolutely broke down sobbing watching that ending and I think the pacing they thought was off only lended to that feeling, because every time a scene moved forward it felt like 'oh good, they narrowly escaped' so when in the end they didn't, I actually couldn't fathom it and it broke me
There's something unsettling in realizing that Sam was just sitting there because he's deaf. An infected listens for their prey. Even if he ever went to go full on clicker he couldn't. So he would just sit there. Waiting, looking at the sunrise forever, screaming from the inside. As his brain was slowly eaten away. Bill and Frank's story was sad, in a stoic kind of way, but just like Bill said at the end, it wasn't tragic. They'd live a full life. Here Sam and Henry had hope, a chance, and a whole life ahead of them. Henry was so good that he protected Ellie before even realizing what he was doing. It was instinctual. That comes from deep inside. But a little like Kathleen said, this kind of goodness, makes it hard to live in such a tragic world.
Hearing Ellie shriek whenever Henry shot himself was just heart breaking, you could tell she cared so much about those two that she was heart broken watching all of this happen directly in front of her
then at their graves, after leaving the note, she’s the one to walk away while joel ponders. a complete 180 of tess’ death in ep2. i think theyre setting up the ground work for tlou2 ellie really well
@@chespiarce00 I mean at least two people clearly do. Also don’t you think that no one caring is entirely why the world is screwed. I get it’s TH-cam and people don’t care about grammar and write “u” instead of “you” and use other acronyms to make it easier, but whatever is longer than what so this person is clearly just poorly educated in English. I think this is a real problem and I was only trying to educate people about the differences in the words.
Sam was Deaf, so when he turned he was a different type of infected. That’s why after he changed he was just looking out the window, he couldn’t hear. He didn’t react until Ellie touched him, even though she had called out to him. I don’t know why she called out to him if she knew he was Deaf. Were her instincts trying tell her he probably already changed since she knew the situation of Sam being bitten and she fell asleep?
I like the small detail of Joel assuming the sniper was a bad shooter, but in reality he was missing on purpose to keep them trapped until Katherine arrived with the Calvary
I never actually thought about that fact, I just dismissed it and assumed he was trying to kill them but he sucked at shooting, it makes so much sense why he was missing a lot
@@corbinmerla3451 yeah , old or not it’s no way he misses that many shots. And if he really was that bad of a shot why would they have him posted there , at night nonetheless. Naw he was shooting to keep them boxed in, not to kill them. If you noticed when Henry tried to run with Sam he shot ahead of them to force them back to the car where they were hiding
As an oldest sibling, this episode truly broke me. It capitalized on my worst fears as a big brother, failing to protect your siblings in any capacity. Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Montreal Woodward were phenomenal as Sam and Henry. I bought them so much as brothers and god Lamar’s reaction after THE scene really disturbed me. Pedro and Bella continue to shine in their respective roles, and you can definitely feel it building up to something. Damn this show😭
If this happened to me, as the older sibling, I would still push forward but I would lose myself in the process becoming more bitter, angry and violent. Not because I imagine myself being badass or anything, but more because I have a range of emotions that are reflected through my actions and thoughts. Still a horrible experience to have losing your family especially younger siblings because you begin to think you failed and change because of it.
Ellie running through the infected to save Sam and Henry made me fall in love with her character. She's got the heart and the strength of a warrior and I can't wait to see her grow. Love how Joel never missed a beat. Sad to see Sam and Henry go. I loved the four of them together. But I guess it is the apocalypse.
Don't know if you noticed, but when Ellie and Sam were playing soccer in the tunnels Joel quickly glanced at his watch. It's barely noticeable since he had his arms crossed and the watch wasn't in the shot, but it was such a nice detail to see him think of Sarah and her love for soccer
As someone with an 8 year old sibling I was not ready for this episode. I was crying from the beginning just thinking of what was going to happen in the end and I still wasn’t ready for how heartbreaking it was. The acting was amazing. On a happier tone, the bloater scene was AMAZING. Truly terrified at the amount of clickers that appeared.
Ellie trying to cure Sam with her blood was such great writing, because that's actually something a kid would do or think. Everyone has been telling her she's the key to saving humanity, so it's not surprising for her to take that leap of faith, and try it.
The moment I heard the bloater I was like... Wait i know that sound, until i saw it getting up really slow. Holy shit, that was terrifying and so cool.
lol yeah. not a big fan of the "revolutionaries are worse than the fascists" trope and the Kansas City rebellion is that to the max. They're like: doctors? Who needs em! Infected? Not our problem! Let's just focus on a campaign of brutal revenge murder of every single person who was coerced into working with the previous government for their own survival.
The fact that even after Kathleen's death, the infected continued to pour out of the hole... no wonder humanity lost. Great acting with a gut-wrenching finish. I think this is my favorite episode yet!
I was confused with them coming out of the ground. I know they said the resistance had pushed them underground, did that car just happen to fall into a sinkhole or something right above the infected? Also how did they manage to get ALL of those infected underground?
@@zachbooker2002 I can't answer the last question, but if you cast your mind back to the previous episode when Kathleen and Perry were searching the houses for Henry, and in one particular house the floor was moving almost as if something was trying to burrow its way out. Kathleen told Perry to leave it for the time being. I can only summise that the truck crashed into this same house, with the explosion further damaging the floor. The weight of the truck eventually forced it through the floor letting the infected out
@@zachbooker2002 In episode henry explained that FEDRA lure them to underground tunnel like 13 years ago, so basically an army of clicker down there waiting for thier time to shine.
@Zach Booker Well you see, the army pushed the infected into the tunnels a long time ago, but with all the noise of the revolution they started to make thier way back up. It was only a matter of time before they busted out of the ground. Other than that, do you remember the underground safe zone we see in the episode? Those people got infected once the military pushed the infected down and that's where that clicking kid may come from.
@@zachbooker2002 KC Fedra are the most brutal. It's possible they used hundreds of people as bait to lure all the infected into parts of the tunnels and sealed it. All those hundreds, maybe thousands, turned infected.
honestly throughout this season, i kept feeling like a lot of things are building us up not only to the end but also to tie in to what will ultimately happen in the second season.
Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard were the absolute HEART of this episode. It was gut wrenching leading up to the end. The performances were all top tier! Then the hoard of infected?! This was everything I hoped for. Making me emotional every episode.
I'm watching with some people who haven't played the games and I was really struggling to contain my emotions when I saw her write that. Luckily I was able to play it off like I was only crying for Sam and Henry, lol.
the two most heartbreaking things for me in this episode are Ellie going from an optimistic kid filled with childlike energy to being completely stoic and hopeless by the end, and Henry not being a violent person who's never killed anyone to committing one of the most violent acts one can do by killing his own brother. his reaction was so gut wrenching and the tension and pain in that entire scene was so palpable. wonderful storytelling.
@@TheThreeHeadedDragon I think Sarah would have been much older had she survived. Henry seems to be in his early 20s, maybe even a teenager whereas sarah was already 16 in 2003 therefore she would be 36 in 2023
This episode was so economical in its storytelling. It had one episode to get us connected to Henry and Sam then kill them, and it pulled it off beautifully. Lamar Johnson and Keivon Woodward had such an instant, magnetic relationship that got you immediately attached to them. It was such a smart choice to have Ellie try to save Sam with her blood. That is very impactful for her internal struggle moving forward. And it paid off just how much Sam and Ellie had bonded. The entire mirroring of Henry and Sam to Joel and Ellie serves to continue the narrative drive to the ending in such a deft way. Another banger episode. Also the Savage Starlight, Joel working his way through the street to get to the sniper, and the Bloater kill being just like the game was chef’s kiss. The Infected were truly terrifying in this episode. The clicker kid was so creepy.
I cheered out loud when the Bloater ripped Perry's head off. That was so damn satisfying to watch, it really cemented just how dangerous they are. I can't imagine how people who didn't play the games felt seeing it, because I've played the hell out of both games and it still scared the hell out of me!
This hit a little closer to home. Watched with a Deaf family member who grew so attached to Sam so quickly. The actors were incredible and this show is so damn good.
The changes make every story more connected to the story of Joel and Ellie. Henry being the bad guy to save Sam, sure. But the big one is Ellie's guilt over being unable to save Sam. She wasn't motivated to be the cure before. The mission was just thrown at her. Before she had a purpose. Now she has purpose. I love this adaptation!
The parallels and amount of foreshadowing is nuts. Henry’s decision to save his brother parallels with Joel’s decision at the end of the game, and Kathleen’s vengeance parallels with Ellie’s vengeance in the sequel.
Man I nearly broke when Henry started crying. I knew it was coming and it still got me. 😢 I think part of it is because I have a younger sibling of my own.
It’s incredible how Bella and Pedro were both told not to play the game to make there own interpretations, yet they are so similar yet unique. They didn’t miss this casting. Every character we can feel the weight on their shoulders.
Never did I expect for episode 5 to have me shedding tears like I did in episode 1. Children dying is crushing to me. I am astonished how good this show is. A live-action video game adaptation and it's, in my opinion, worthy of being nominated for potential awards. Incredible!!!
this episode was an emotional roller coaster, the bloater scene was amazing, and when Henry pulled the trigger and you could just feel the pain that Ellie felt and I cant wait to see how they continue to change the story in a way that is exciting to people who didn't play the game and new and exciting to people who have played the game several times. 10/10 episode
I was crying almost the whole episode just because I knew what was going to happen. I don't think a show has ever made me audibly cry like this in those last moments. It was even more heart-rending than the game. Just, wow.
Bella is so good as Ellie. As far as true naturalism acting chops she’s out in front of the whole cast. And she has the look and naïveté of an actual wannabe tough but clueless 14 year old girl. She’s perfect. Seeing her and Sam hug broke me, because they are truly just incredible and they’re just sweet babies.
One of the things I've always supposed from the game, and I think applies to the show too- when Joel is trying to get the gun from Henry, he's not worried for himself. Maybe he was at the beginning when Henry shot the ground in front of him, but after he shot Sam he wasn't worried about Henry shooting him. He's trying to get the gun from him to stop what he knows is coming.
Amazing episode. Belle really shined in her scenes with Sam. The actors who played Henry And Sam crushed it and added more emotion to their deaths. The Bloater Scene Is Like The Game Come To Life. Can't wait for the next episode and hope to get a lot of Tommy.
I loved episode 3 but this is my favorite episode so far. As a gamer the Easter eggs were chefs kiss in this episode. Honestly I liked this Henry and Sam portrayal more bc it felt more baked into Joel and Ellie’s plot. This episode was just so special to me.
I like how they're building up for the end of the season and for season 2 considering what happens with Joel and Ellie's relationship in the game, like with Ellie saying "my blood is medicine" and trying to help someone after all the people she has lost and being devastated when it didn't work. I think what will happen in the finale and the impact of that whole situation with Joel it's going to hit much more.
Definitely my favorite episode so far, the last 20 minutes of that episode was everything I wanted from the series. Bella stole the show with this one, and the massive fight at the end was just brutal, it really shows the horror of the infected.
Having played the game multiple times, I must say, seeing all this loss throughout Joel and Ellie’s story hits differently in live action than gameplay (in a good way). P.S. I..we really appreciate how fast you guys upload reactions 👌
So many Easter eggs! When they dude was getting killed by the Bloater, not only was a signature kill move used but if you listen carefully you can actually hear the music that plays when you die at that point.
The fact that the dude was the voice actor for Tommy made it all the more impactful. At least 'Tommy' went out in a blaze of glory. Part of me would have liked to see both Tommy's in the same scene, but i guess that's too cliche
The acting performances in this episode were all incredible. A super underrated scene is the one with Kathleen and Perry in her childhood bedroom. Really important characterization stuff, and Melanie absolutely bodied it.
Damn, that bloater... also loved they added in the part where Joel has to snipe soldiers/ infected to keep ellie and them safe as well as the school room And damn it, I had hope for a few seconds once ellie tried her blood thing but then Sam turned around. 😭 "I'm sorry."
@Bevan McNicholl personally I think it's a pretty good adaptation. i think they improved the sniper scene from the game, it just felt so much more intense. also, they made the infected so much more intimidating than in the game imo. it makes you realize how strong they really are
@@bevanmcnicholl2525 why would you want to watch the same exact things happen? Truly you realize that the writers of the game wanted to revise their story in making this show
@@lazodus In the game from the moment Ellie and Sam meet they are having fun and messing around. Smiling and laughing. You have the scene with the toy going and you miss the maybe total 2 hours with them in game for much less than that. Except they cover less than what 50 minutes was in the game. The sewers/tunnels had so many cool moments of character building. Being Joel with Sam was awesome when the group gets split. The moment with the bridge and the sniper town. Going through the houses talking about fire flies and playing darts. They some how took a sequence with so much characterisation and came out with next to none. My overall problem is the episode relies on you feeling sad for an 8 year old boy turning ... Where as in the game he was as old as ellie and even people who didn't like kids could connect they were similar people and if you wanted ellie to survive you wanted Sam. But the episode just didn't understand what the game accomplished and ruined it all. The sniper scene was tense in the game because you thought anyone could die at any moment. You lose that threat as soon as you have 100 clickers and infected running around instantly. The bloated was handled much better in game (Not school that was bad) but in the hotel sequence. They shoulld've mimiced that. The scene just felt stupid, I was cringing at everything going on. Smaller scale action would've worked better especially if it played out similarly to the game, so in the day light and once joel has the sniper has to deal with Kathleens men and infected running at them.
The Bloater killing Perry (Jeffery Pierce) exactly how he kills Joel in the game is fucking dope!! Love how they keep giving us stuff like these from the game alongside the bigger things
So proud of Keivonn Woodard the kid who plays Sam. He's from my hometown and he did a fantastic job. He also plays on the local youth hockey team here as the only hearing impaired but he is great. Hopefully he gets more roles in the future.
@@dailynquill3390 I know it may seem to good to be true. But I am being truthful about Keivonn he is from MD. I'm about 10-15 min drive away from the ice arena he plays youth hockey. He also been interview a few times by our local news.
I'm dwvastated,, this has always been the saddest chapter to me in the 1st game, outside of Sarah's death. I'm literally still crying right now. Loved the remix with Henry and Sam, and Joel out maneuvering the sniper. I get Kathleen's pain, bur soooo happy she got what was coming to her. She killed her whole community in the end, smh.
This is what you call a 'coming of age moment'. Ellie's entire personality changes based on this single moment. She suddenly realized the depth of the shit she and Joel were in.
Joel forever feeling sorry for not protecting Sarah. Ellie leaves a sorry letter on Sam's grave for not being able to help him. This to me is another great part showing the "subtle on the surface" but "crying on the inside" understanding he's developing for her. He's not understanding a story that happened before he met her. He's watching it unfold in real time and she's understanding why he said "You haven't seen the world. So you don't know".
Bella and Keivonn's acting in this episode was amazing, the relationship between them both in this episode was so precious. Ellie trying to reassure Sam after he shows her the bite and her using her blood hoping it would help 💔 this was such a great episode
For me a part of the effect of giving Bill and Frank a happy (happier) ending was that I now know they MIGHT change the story to give smaller characters less depressing endings because they’ve done it before. So part of me sat through this whole episode with a sliver of hope that things weren’t gonna go down like they did in the game. Right up until Sam attacks Ellie. Even though I knew what was gonna happen, the show made me feel like I didn’t. In this case that fact made it even more heartbreaking but DAMN this show is SO GOOD.
I am of the same mind. The change there makes it seem like anything is possible. I was genuinely wondering if they were going to completely alter their fate
@@Vale9118 You have to change some things when you’re making such a huge shift in media. If they weren’t going to change anything there’d be no point to making a show. You could just watch a cutscene compilation. The show builds off the game in a really amazing way. It doesn’t mean the game should have been different, it just means the show is.
@@jacobm6617 you’re right, some, not the complete fate of a character who is there for a reason in the game. They changed things for Henry and Sam too and I don’t have a problem cause it didn’t take the essence of the character from the game as for Bill.. but that’s fine, I mean the show is still very good and I’m liking it very much. Ep 5 is the best one atm for me
@@Vale9118 what, in your opinion, is Bill’s purpose to the story? I agree that he definitely has one but I’m curious what your opinion is of what that purpose is
Holy crap what an episode. After the sniper sequence and the big scene with the infected I was like “there’s no way we’re gonna get to the ending of Henry and sams story” but they delivered. Also so glad we got to see that bloater rip someone’s jaw off!
@@bink5242 Yeah still a pretty horrible way to die don't get me wrong lol, but it was quick. I'd take that over being infected or slowly ripped apart any day.
I immediately thought of the scarabs from The Mummy too! The way the ground sinks in then the infected burst out, I swear the sounds were similar as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if Druckmann is a Mummy fan
I found it slightly amusing when the bloater lifted that one soldier and body-slammed him. Adam Basil was perfect for that role. Especially with him being naturally 6'6
i knew it was coming.. hurt just as bad. can’t believe they fit henry and sam in one episode… i get it but i love their characters so much and i loved playing with them. they made me feel safe 😢
My friend brought up the point that Sam died kinda peacfully, thanks to Ellie he went to sleep thinking he'd be ok and then just died. And I can feel a bit better after that
This episode was incredible imo. I loved the changes they made and the actors that played Henry and Sam were fantastic. Those final ten minutes broke me.
@@pandemicjones tbh, I think it was a lot sadder and hit harder in this show than in the game. Sam was younger and deaf and Henry also seemed a bit younger than in the game and you can see how innocent both look. In the game you can see that Henry wasn’t all that good and has done bad things.
Man I thought episode 3 was hard to top but this was an amazing and heartbreaking balance between changing stuff from the game and being faithful to it. Best one so far in my opinion 👏
What I love the most is how they capture the mind of a child/adolescent. Elle and Sam act very appropriately for the age they are playing. A child’s mind is whimsical and can only be captured with great creativity!
Only issue I have with this episode was the scene with Kathleen and Perry, they could’ve cut it and maybe added a little more extra stuff from the game other then that it was an amazing episode.
This show just keeps getting better and better. Bella Ramsey is amazing as Ellie, I couldn't imagine anyone else in those shoes now. Pedro Pascal personifies Joel flawlessly, I never expected him to fit so well. Craig Mazin adapted this world to perfection. From Chernobyl, to The Last of Us, this guy is an insane talent.
This and the 3rd episode most likely will have the most emotional parts in the series or at least season 1. If the game is any indication then Bloaters are basically impossible to kill and everyone in the show will be lucky to survive an encounter with them

Hearing Ellie shriek whenever Henry shot himself was just heart breaking, you could tell she cared so much about those two that she was heart broken watching all of this happen directly in front of her
“Whenever” implies it’s happened more than once, in fact at least a few times. So next time just stick to “when”
then at their graves, after leaving the note, she’s the one to walk away while joel ponders. a complete 180 of tess’ death in ep2. i think theyre setting up the ground work for tlou2 ellie really well

No one cares.
@@HIDGEL05
Cry. No one cares.
Nice catch
I love this, thank you
He was a runner but just a deaf one. So he probabaly wouldn't have survived long enough to turn unto a clicker
Tough ❤️
I didn't even notice that I was busy crying already
I like the small detail of Joel assuming the sniper was a bad shooter, but in reality he was missing on purpose to keep them trapped until Katherine arrived with the Calvary
I never actually thought about that fact, I just dismissed it and assumed he was trying to kill them but he sucked at shooting, it makes so much sense why he was missing a lot
I figured his eyesight was actually going and, he'd rather have Joel kill him quickly than be tortured slowly later for not doing his job well
@@corbinmerla3451 yeah , old or not it’s no way he misses that many shots.
I 100 percent agree with u I never cry at anything in life ever but this actually brought a tear to my eye thinking about my lil bro
The actor for Henry needs to immediately be in more things, he was incredible!
Didn’t notice! Heavy Spoilers pointed it out for us later

@@silverdialga0358 I don’t think I’m gonna finish this show with my sanity, I can’t even begin to imagine how heartbreaking season 2 is gonna be
I basically raised my little brother. This episode hit so hard. Henry and Sam’s story has always affected me the most, even in the game
Same I cried from the start, first time that’s ever happened lol
@@vjc25 the anger that I had when Kathleen was saying that Henry should’ve let sam die. Older sibling syndrome
Ellie trying to cure Sam with her blood was such great writing, because that's actually something a kid would do or think. Everyone has been telling her she's the key to saving humanity, so it's not surprising for her to take that leap of faith, and try it.
This show just keeps getting better and better.
Also, everyone thinks they're a badass until a bloater busts out of the ground.
The moment I heard the bloater I was like... Wait i know that sound, until i saw it getting up really slow.
Holy shit, that was terrifying and so cool.

The rebels taking out FEDRA and in the process killing all the people keeping the lights on has big "we did it Patrick! We saved the city!" energy
lol yeah. not a big fan of the "revolutionaries are worse than the fascists" trope and the Kansas City rebellion is that to the max. They're like: doctors? Who needs em! Infected? Not our problem! Let's just focus on a campaign of brutal revenge murder of every single person who was coerced into working with the previous government for their own survival.
They would have thrived longer if not for their karen leader Katrin. Her obsessive pursue to kill Henry is why her people got wiped out.
Bill’s note and Henry’s “bad guy” talk really tie into Joel’s path and the overall theme of the second game. Amazing episode.
And Tess's, "were bad people Joel"
honestly throughout this season, i kept feeling like a lot of things are building us up not only to the end but also to tie in to what will ultimately happen in the second season.
Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard were the absolute HEART of this episode. It was gut wrenching leading up to the end. The performances were all top tier! Then the hoard of infected?! This was everything I hoped for. Making me emotional every episode.
Holy hell this episode was insane when all the infected came swarming out of that hole was crazy and the bloater was incredible looking
Gave me chills
It just keeps getting better and better. Such an amazing episode 😢 Also Ellie telling Sam she's scared of being alone just broke me
Especially with what happens at the end of part 2 hits even harder
Every episode is so well written, acted, paced.. At this rate the series will break my heart - which might not be a bad thing.
Remembering the ending of tlou 2 just shreds me into pieces after seeing that scene.
I'm watching with some people who haven't played the games and I was really struggling to contain my emotions when I saw her write that. Luckily I was able to play it off like I was only crying for Sam and Henry, lol.
The fact that Sam is deaf and younger in the show makes it wayyy more heartbreaking 😭😭😭😭
I love how Jeffrey Pierces death scene was almost identical to the bloater death animation we get to see in the first game! Man what a great episode
the two most heartbreaking things for me in this episode are Ellie going from an optimistic kid filled with childlike energy to being completely stoic and hopeless by the end, and Henry not being a violent person who's never killed anyone to committing one of the most violent acts one can do by killing his own brother. his reaction was so gut wrenching and the tension and pain in that entire scene was so palpable. wonderful storytelling.
I loved how Henry also seemed like he's barely an adult here himself. It makes the Henry-Sam dynamic with Joel and Ellie so much more poignant.
Yeah, like Joel was taking a fatherly role with Henry as well. After all, Sara would have been about Henry's age if she had survived.
Yeah this really cements her desire to create a cure. To find purpose in her life to save humanity. They’re really nailing it
This hit a little closer to home.
😢 I think part of it is because I have a younger sibling of my own.
when the bloater came i got absolute goosebumps. perfect adaptation.
The actors for Henry and Sam were so good! Really endearing. Gut wrenching at the end.
Still waiting to see Troy and Ashley already
This had one of the coolest sequences I've seen in a while. Bella is already iconic, can't wait to see Ellie's development
Henry and Sam was just heartbreaking in the game and in the show
this episode was an emotional roller coaster, the bloater scene was amazing, and when Henry pulled the trigger and you could just feel the pain that Ellie felt and I cant wait to see how they continue to change the story in a way that is exciting to people who didn't play the game and new and exciting to people who have played the game several times. 10/10 episode
This episode was so great, Henry and Sam was also so great in this episode and the Bloater was awesome
When he ripped perry's head off! Narly
the ending of this genuinely hits so much more than it did in the game. i never even knew that was possible but jeez man
Ya’ll are always so quick lmfao, this episode rocked. The bloater, Sam and Henry, all perfect.
Seriously! I'm like, these dudes get the episodes in advance or what?
I was crying almost the whole episode just because I knew what was going to happen. I don't think a show has ever made me audibly cry like this in those last moments. It was even more heart-rending than the game. Just, wow.
I legit had a dead pit in my stomach after this episode. Man they did it so well
Bella is so good as Ellie.
This show is incredible, ive played the games to death. Its so fucking surreal with how well they’re adapting it.
I don’t know each episode keeps topping the last
I like how they're building up for the end of the season and for season 2 considering what happens with Joel and Ellie's relationship in the game, like with Ellie saying "my blood is medicine" and trying to help someone after all the people she has lost and being devastated when it didn't work. I think what will happen in the finale and the impact of that whole situation with Joel it's going to hit much more.
Keivonn (Sam) being deaf, and the entire cast learning ASL to talk to him is so fucking sweet
Seeing a bloater and the Savage Starlight comics certainly made my night. Endure and Survive
DUDE THEY MADE HENRY AND SAMS SO MUCH MORE SADDER. what did i do to deserve this sadness.
Best episode yet! Henry and Sam’s story hurt more here then the game did imo 💯
its ellie's expressions that completely broke me.
It is sad because ellie tries to help sam but it is not worked like that.
Damn, that bloater... also loved they added in the part where Joel has to snipe soldiers/ infected to keep ellie and them safe as well as the school room
And damn it, I had hope for a few seconds once ellie tried her blood thing but then Sam turned around. 😭 "I'm sorry."
But they ruined everything compared to the game
@@bevanmcnicholl2525 it’s different, doesn’t mean it’s ruined

In the game from the moment Ellie and Sam meet they are having fun and messing around.
I can’t even put it into words how scary, tense and amazing the last 20 minutes especially all the clickers and the bloater
The Bloater killing Perry (Jeffery Pierce) exactly how he kills Joel in the game is fucking dope!! Love how they keep giving us stuff like these from the game alongside the bigger things

This is what you call a 'coming of age moment'. Ellie's entire personality changes based on this single moment. She suddenly realized the depth of the shit she and Joel were in.

Another episode another swollen eyes.
Henry's confession was a hell of a foreshadowing...gave me the chills. If you know you know.
