+Dany Cow The FG 335 guitars are AMAZING! Super loud and responsive! The thing about the old ones are that a lot of them will have a neck that's warped but can't be fixed unless the neck gets reset. If you're lucky and this one you found plays fine i would definitely recommend that! The old Yamaha FG's are some of the best acoustic guitars i've played and they destroy the new ones that i've played.
Yes, the FG700S and FG720S share the same design and construction materials...the FG720S features some nice cosmetic upgrades and color choices. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
+Kraft Music The Yamaha FG700s is spec at NATO Back and sides. And the FG720s is listed as Eastern Mahogany. Eastern Mahogany is deceptive. The FG700s and the FG720s are the same guitar but the FG720 will cost more cash.
What is the difference between the FG700 and the FG720 with natural finish?? I thought that the only difference from the FG700 to the FG720 is the finish so those two should be identical :D
I thought the FG700s was nato back, sides, and neck. FG720s was Mahogany back, and sides NATO neck. That is what the Yamaha web site says. Now this guy is saying somthing different. WTF is " eastern mahogany"...never heard that term before.
"Eastern Mahogany is deceptive. If NATO is Eastern mahogany why does the Yamaha specs list the neck as NATO and not "eastern mahogany". I thought my Yamaha FG720s was an up grade from the FG700s but they are in fact the same guitar. Yamaha you just tarnished your company. What BS. I could have bought the same guitar for about $50.00 cheaper. Until now I have always thought of Yamaha as a highly reputable...What a dumb azz thing to do... Eastern Mahogany...WOW what BS!!
Jake should make a demo for the FG730s too !
Thank you for the heads up Kraft Music. I was looking for a LL16 but now No way.
My reasoning for getting the 720 instead of the 700 was because the 700 didnt come in black.
Same size than F310 and F325 ?
I have to choose between this model, and an old FG335 from late 70's..... any recomendation?
+Dany Cow the older one should sound better as it's body should have adapted to the vibrations.

how much?
So do I take it the only real differences between this and the FG700 are the cosmetic upgrades?

They are the same guitar only the FG720S label will cost you more money and you think it's Mahogany.

Carl Wilson check the site now, it says eastern mahogany indeed
😵💫😴😴😴
It looks like the Yamaha FG700S and the Yamaha FG 720s are the same guitar. Buyer beware.
Carl Wilson no it’s not the same. Back and sides are different; mahogany for 720s and nato for 700 models.
