Yeah, it was freaking ridiculous how fast they were going. Its been a long time since I've driven with visibility that bad (the last I recall was a massive hailstorm a few years ago where you could only see a few meters in front of you), and I think I was doing 40 in an 80 zone and still feeling very apprehensive.

Things I have learnt watching Australian dashcams. 1) Red lights are optional. 2) Junction layouts are designed to cause accidents. 3) the roads are incredibly slippy when wet. 4) Use any free part of the road on either side at any time. 5) Anticipation is just another word. 6) Save brake wear by using another car to stop. 7) Always be on your phone calling or texting when in control of your vehicle when alcohol or hard drugs are not available.

A few studies have found that drivers who aren't used to fog are tricked by there senses & think they're driving much slower than they are, so instead of slowing right down & being extremely cautious, they will unconsciously speed up!
In heavy fog conditions where drivers aren't slowly down because of the limited visibility I don't take the risk of some idiot rear-ending me & pull over off the highway!

Cairo Silver most likely just lost control, that's a major issue a lot of Aussie drivers face. alternatively, based on how shocked and horrified she sounds, lack of another ghost car and how seamless her turning was, it seems like her car may have had a malfunction, and kept turning. Of course, that's just speculation and I too wonder what happened and no one in the comment section seems to talk about this one. Hope that helps

You have to consider 1 sec of reaction time. At 100km/h that is about 30m. The brake distance is 50m at 100km/h if you make an emergency stop.
That is a stopping distance of 80m at best.
However people are not the best but idiots. Usually it is more like 95m... there you go.
Calculation:
Reaction travel distance = speed/10*3 -> 100/10*3 = 30m
Emergency brake distance = (Speed/10 * Speed/10)/2 -> (100/10m * 100/10)/2 = 50m
Stopping distance = Reaction distance + brake distance -> 30 + 50 = 80m

It was very clear that the silver car was turning into a park; right indicator, slowing down, and turning left before going into the parking spot so the car is straight. Dash cam person probably wasn’t paying attention

perfectly honest they are both in the wrong, they didn't use their turning signal properly and the driver with the camera should have slowed down to confirm the person's intent.

There's a foggy patch in winter on the drive to work where I'm at where you may as well be driving in a cloud, I learned the hard way that LED lightbars are absolutely dogshit in them.
PSA: Upping your tyre pressures improves fuel consumption, yes, but look out in the wet, you might have just halved your tyre footprint on the bitumen.

Anyone noticed that many of the newer cars have front blinker lights recessed down a tube and are harder to see. From an angle one only sees a reflection of the light.
So from these videos we learned: Put some weight over your rear tyres if you have a ute, don't speed in the fog, don't floor it in the wet while doing some sort of manoeuver, check your damn tyres before they go bald. Anything else?
Ain't going to hurt if you leave an imprint of your bull-bar in a panel/door if it helps someone learn how to drive sensibly!
