@@FaustoTheBoozehound Anyone who's born or grew up here knows what he did wrong. Not that hard to figure out since even a first gen Canadian would know.
The lights on the truck were on, you can just barely see them before and after the crash. Cammer just wasn't smart enough to know how to slow down when the visibility goes to zero.
In this case he definitely should have slowed down considering the visual distance. I remember driving in a dark area. I saw lights ahead of me that looked a good distance away. Before I knew it, I almost ran into a very black(dirty?) work truck. The lights were so dim it gave an illusion that it was far ahead. Lights matter.
0:39 if it wasn’t the person crawling out of the parking lot that got his then the car in the lane to the right would’ve been rear ended badly. Either result should end with that Kia driver losing their license. They were either so distracted they didn’t see the red light or they planned on running the red light.
#17 6:40 I guess some people have more time on their hands and enjoy wasting it dealing with all the hassles of getting into a fender bender. Cammer steered into the other car right before impact. Sure, the lady who cut in made a dick move, but the result wouldn't have even slowed the cammer down at all.
I love it when the camera has the speed with it. Guy flying down the highway in a city at 85 mph during morning commute that is angry at the other driver for making a lane change or even almost doing 60 on a 5 lane total city street when they tbone someone that turns left from the right lane. I'm sure speed was a factor in some of these.
I love how, in the first clip, she never even attempted to slow down, stop, swerve, or anything. Y'all weren't even moving that fast, what the hell were you doing other than gasping and clenching and spazzing out a full 3 seconds before you hit them...? The Honda is still an ass, but the cammer is equally as oblivious and on auto-pilot.
Half of these clips could be avoided by acting in order to prevent accidents. It's called defensive driving: it means you have to observe the situation and who you have around, how they behave and foresee some scenarios, like people changing lanes in front of you like in 1. and 6. I personally never got in an accident, and that does not mean "drive slowly", it means "drive without distractions and be aware of your surroundings". Why is it something I see rarely in these videos? Is it so difficult? Like in 17., WHY NOT USE YOUR BRAKES? It's so brainless and that could have been avoided. But no, it's better to risk injuries and life, damages to the car I guess. You have gained nothing by being right, I would rather be safe than demonstrate that I was right in front of insurance companies and police officers.
For some reason people seem to be happy to allow an accident they know won't be their fault to happen to teach the other driver a lesson and think they're taking no loss since the other driver's insurance will pay for it (which isn't always how it happens) but what they don't realize is that accident is now on their car's title and their resale value is now significantly reduced.
Just a question.. why dont we use those traffic lights with countdowns in it? I have found myself in situations where i ran the yellow light just because i dont have an idea that its turning from green to yellow
This is kind of a thing depending on where you drive. You can base a lot off of the crosswalk patterns. The crosswalk says go, then 3 seconds later the light is green. When the crosswalk countdown is over, the light turns yellow. This doesn't always apply and an actual countdown would definitely be better.
I live in Taiwan and also lived in mainland China for many years after I left Canada. In both places, most traffic lights have countdowns on greens and reds. Even lots of pedestrian lights have it too. It is very convenient.
that first one hit close bc i damn near had this happen at the EXACT SAME INTERSECTION!! edit: 13:48 i think calling a condensor an a/c radiator is kinda cute
This video is like a dose of justice served on four wheels. It's both entertaining and a wake-up call for those who think they can get away with reckless driving.
I see so many crashes like this and avoid so many like them every day. I don't try to cut off someone trying to cut me off, I keep my eyes on the cars around me, I avoid driving in anyone's blind spots if I can, there's so many simple ways to avoid stuff like this happening. I'm not perfect, I'm not going to claim I've never gotten into an accident (because I have) or almost run a red light, but defensive driving is so important. It prevents so many accidents and also helps prevent other bystanders that had nothing to do with it anything getting into part of your wreck. :/
Brilliant idea. People get into a disproportionate number of wrecks at that notorious intersection because they're driving too fast because they're on an insanely wide multi-lane divided stroad so, instead of adding traffic calming measures, you want to create an expressway interchange in the middle of a leafy green neighborhood so they can drive even FASTER! Are you the reincarnation of Robert Moses?
#12 should take a lesson from #13. 13 had places to be, but was considerate enough to at least find a way for the other person to contact them. Only takes a minute (not even a full one) to say "here's my number. I may have caught it on dashcam if you need it."
or the people involved in the collision could just get a dashcam themselves 🤷♂ why should I waste my time dealing with someone else's fuck up if it's only gunna cause more problems for me? I got enough of my own problems, thanks, not interested in intentionally creating more for myself. If I got time, sure I'll stop, but if it's gunna make my dog so upset it shits and pisses all over my car while I'm over there tryna be a good person cuz it's so terrified from the sound of the crash, it's simply not worth it. Just gotta hope they had a dashcam themselves and move on with your life.
Thank you for playing my Video in 5his footage, still not sure why or how the truck in front of me lost control on the onramp to the highway in the snow.

#47 ~ the cammer is at fault. Do you only check your mirrors once, and then look straight when backing up? The car was fully out of the parking spot, before you backed into him. I’m assuming that’s why you didn’t mention who the insurance found at fault

I was ran over as a pedestrian at a crosswalk. At that moment I got back up and all seemed okay. The guy drove off after hitting me and yes, I was hurting a day later like I had got run down by a car. Not fun.

probably more familiar
I think it looks way faster than it is. I've done 80 with snow going and it looks like I'm doing lightspeed after looking back at it on the cam. Snow plows generally run anywhere from 20-60km, so the dude could have been doing anywhere from 40-80km and still look like he was going too fast.
Honestly, surprising he didn’t notice the giant plume of snow in front of him and just kept going full speed

Ya, you can tell by their descriptor. Calling the lane a "fast lane", that's not how it works off the highway. It's just a travel lane, the right lane is the curb lane for people to enter and exit businesses.
Speeding was the problem.
#26 - I would think the dashcam footage showing him cutting you off then hitting the brakes would put him at fault, regardless of any complaint he may have against the cammer.
drivers like that maniac should be taken off the road.
He was very much in the clear, pulling on to the street like that. Ample room. I'm glad he had dash camera footage.
Yeah that one confused me too. The white SUV was clearly not cut off whatsoever and had tons of room, and even if the stop sign on private property isn't enforceable in WA, the cammer stopped anyway to check before entering the road.
The folks in Fresno NEED to have their licenses revoked for running that red light!!!

Great set of videos
Cammer at the 12:00 mark. Are you new to winter driving on Canadian roads? Even if the plow had no lights how did you not see the snow being thrown to the side right in front of you indicating a vehicle in front of you? You never even braked as you drove straight into the Whiteout of snow from the plow! I certainly hope you were charged for that accident as it was clearly your fault for being inattentive
Guess you didn't notice his name at the beginning of the clip. Definitely a "new" Canadian.
@@shaunp9592 you seem really smart how can you tell they're new from their name??
#25 - good handling in a close call!
Can’t stand when someone gets in an accident or has car trouble and a bunch of self-important tools start laying on the horn.
#2 was driving towards a red light, maybe a green arrow but regardless they were going like 75 miles an hour. Christ!
It's always green to yellow... but as long as your car is past the stoping line at the intersection before it turns red your all set
I live in Taiwan and also lived in mainland China for many years after I left Canada. In both places, most traffic lights have countdowns on greens and reds. Even lots of pedestrian lights have it too. It is very convenient.
I heard it's timed down based on speed. For example 20mph 2 sec, 30mph 3 sec, and so on. Not sure if that's myth or fact.
that first one hit close bc i damn near had this happen at the EXACT SAME INTERSECTION!!
edit: 13:48 i think calling a condensor an a/c radiator is kinda cute
It is funny the number of people horning or accelerating instead of applying brakes immediately 🤣🤣🤣
This video is like a dose of justice served on four wheels. It's both entertaining and a wake-up call for those who think they can get away with reckless driving.
#1 good think you had a dashcam. Personally I woulda stepped in the brakes but…..
