- Today we head out to fish along the fox River with two friends, We catch smaller fish and use them to catch bigger fish. Stay tuned for an epic night on the Fourth of July!

I can't believe the luck I've had catching flatheads in the Fox...all different locs. They're certainly abundant. I've caught a lot of smaller ones on crawlers but thats a sign that they're not fizzling out any time soon.
I remember fishing the Fox river in the spring in the 70’s. The river was high and flooding the lawns of waterfront properties. My best freind hector and I would wet lawns at our houses a couple of evenings before we fished. We would gather a few hundred night crawlers. We would fish at a freinds waterfront fox river property. We would have to Wade out on the back yard and climb out on a large floating swim platform to fish.
We fished the whole day catching Channel catfish up to 10 pounds, big carp (10-12 lbs)with a blueish tint to thier scales, and several large flatheads.
Our buddy told us that every spring the river would flood THIER back yard and they would see large schools of carp and catfish swimming all over THIER back yard eating the worms and grubs in the water.
The Fox river was a very fertile waterway back then and it’s great to see it has maintained its abundance of fish.
Another great video Geo. That was a monster cat. Other channels ask to leave a comment. I'm guessing that's part of the algorithm. Glad to do it for you. I was up that way and fished three oaks. I didn't connect with any fish, but people on a number of Facebook groups told me it's one of the best lakes in Northern Illinois

Yes! Anything smaller then a predator. That predator will eat! Even it’s own kids. They don’t play games! Good luck 🍀 happy Fishing 🎣
Is there any specific part of the river you recommend for flathead? I’m not really sure where to start
Specific no, We’ve caught them at multiple locations from Elgin all the way north to Antioch. Just have to Hunker down and give it a real go. Happy Fishing 🎣
