It was really none of anyone’s business but thank you for clearing up what lots of people were confused about. So sorry that this happened. What a mess! Good for you for holding on to paperwork!
Thanks for the update. It has been a rough journey for you. I can relate living on social security. I first followed Carolyn when she started van life. She introduce you way back when. You are survivor you keep on going.
I cut my own hair too ,I have had a hard life and bad things happens to good people and most of my life I never knew that God was with me the whole time , and you pray to God he will give you what you need, and its not easy being alone at 70yr old and handicap,
Glad to hear from you. We All go through life with ups and downs. Being retired sometimes can be a whole life changing thing. Watching our money more and prices increasing over and beyond our incomes. Stay strong !
Thanks Dan for telling your story. Plain and honest. That’s why I like watching your videos. You don’t try to wow and impress us. That’s different than most TH-cam channels. I’m in the same boat as you Dan. Keep those videos coming. See you down the road.👍🏻
You've had one heck of a life😓 Sometimes we have to look at what we do have and not what we don't have ❤ It could always be worse. Take care and try and enjoy what you do have😍
Thank you for sharing intimate details of your life. I never thought you might be looking for land. I figured you were %100 happy just doing what you do. ANYWAY I know your personality and it’s like mine. I am in high respect for you for being happy enough to just blurt it out. Like me. Lol
In 2019 i remember your van by tonopah by the pond just out of town I pulled in but all there was was the van have one same color at home 🏆🇺🇸hang in there love your story super glad you figure it out all the bologna 🇺🇸 take care
Hopefully you can find a small parcel that you can afford. Just make sure it is close to a decent road to town. Ausia could use a tank to get o to and from her land. A bad road is very hard on vehicles and your back, never mind the gas to get back and forth for basic supplies. Take Care Dan.
First off, it's nobody's business but your own on the who what why where and when. You are out there living the best you can with what you have and just being happy. Enjoy the life you have.
Property ownership is an illusion. Forget to pay your property tax for 5 years and see what happens. You have priceless assets called “friends”. Friendships are earned. Friends look out for each other and friends cover each other’s backs. I judge people on many factors. Their friends and the way they treat animals tells me everything I need to know about them. I would be honored to earn your friendship.
You got that right. There’s nothing more powerful than having friends who support you and you support them. The name of the game is teamwork and there’s nothing more powerful.
Hi Dan..lookin good..i always sensed you had a deep story about urself..the journeys we all go thru as individuals takes us thru many peaks and valleys ..the stories we can tell each other can both entertain and blow our minds..the struggles are real and the rewards so sweet..always sending you positive vibes and prayers and blessings Dan..safe travels friend
I loved your property Dan and I know you did too and it's been a mess. I live on social security so I understand. But you can live simply and have a good life!
Having a piece of property in the high desert doesn't seem to be all that great in reality from what I see in many TH-cam videos. Better in theory than in practice. Lots of work and money to get it in shape to live on and then constantly maintain it. Endlessly battling mice and pack rats. Too cold in the winter, too hot in the summer and too windy much of the time. Rain making roads impassable. Long drives to get groceries, supplies and medical care. Internet problems. High elevation causing breathing and other health problems. Maybe it's better staying mobile and being able to follow good weather and comfortable living conditions especially if you're not young and spry anymore.
Hey Dan. Like I said a while back, if you ever make it up to Vancouver, I'll be the first to knock on your door and say hello. Your channel is my favorite. I take a quick look every day to see if there's a new posting. Just like to know how you're doin.
My husband was a teacher and receives a monthly check and we both receive a social securitiees check. We are fortunate that our combined salary lets us live comfortable. Believe me, I thank God that we have enough money to get by. I still find it hard to put enough money aside for when we need i. My daughter asked me what I was going to do when I could not take care of myself anymore. Good question
Hi Dan, Good times will come for you, just keep the faith buddy. The world cannot keep a good man down. You might be able to get a piece of property at a delinquent tax sale, a friend of mine got one for $1800 and sold it for $13,000 +. It can be done. I'm happy to have met you back in '19 , hope to catch up with you again sometime in the future . DUANE, in the white ford van at Havasu.
Being readily mobile and free of property tax and required maintenance by state habitability standards (clean potable water source, electricity and sanitary sewage processing etc) is a asset, not a liability. As Roger Daltry sang: " Out in the woods Or in the city It's all the same to me When I'm driving free The world's my home When I'm mobile Hee, woo, beep-beep!" There's no shame in freedom, Dan. You don't need to apologize for not having land.
Sorry to hear that , I know how frustrating it is, being broke !!! I myself am on ss. It’s not easy… just do the best you can, that’s all you can do !!!
Funny, you think that you would like to have property again and here I have property and think that I would be happier living in a bus in the desert, like you.
Been watching you for a while, sorry to hear what happened with your property sounds like that Title company is not legit. Good things will come your way stay positive!!
Good video! Good to see you’re still around. Hope to see you sometime.. I went to my first WRTR/RTR this past January… loved it and the Arizona desert!!! NM is home but will always stay in the SW somewhere!!
Oh my, so sorry. I like your hair cut and your facial hair too. You look good. I hope you find a piece a land you can buy down the line. I hope things go well for you.
That really sux Man Florida does the same thing with the registration of trailers. It's all a scam they are really a permanent home just delivered in wheels but they continue to treat them like a Camper or RV, I don't know of a campground that could accommodate something like that? Maybe Quartzite? But they might frown on towing one in and setting up 😮 some of those HDTs pulling 5Rs could easily tow one though. It's all government BS
Hey Dan you don’t have to let anyone know your personal business and always remember opinions are like assholes. Everybody’s got one happy early Fourth of July, my friend…Kev c
I have a property at Madill, Ok in Cumberland cove by Texoma, has a fema trailer in it and has air, car port etc and would take 20,000 or less. You are right by Lake Texoma and There is about an acre
If the title company is still in business they should have insurance to cover their mistake. I would think that any possible statute of limitations would be long enough to cover you and if you have all the paperwork from then it should be a good case
I know exactly how you felt, I was in an old house that was an after probate sale, that had messed up electric, plumbing and termites! tried to keep it going over 25 years! and was paying 2 mortgages by the time we sold it as is where is, right after I divorced my ex, and got outta California! Im in Washington, not exactly the best, living with my son and roommates, only way I can afford it. But the pay up here is great! However you really need it, as it is costly to live here, only saving grace is no state income tax, and Im saving up for a piece of property, it won't be in Washington or California, looking in AZ or Co. or Tennessee maybe..
Maybe patreon would help a little? 12:21 I am going to find people to help me learn the computer and start doing some online jobs. There are a lot of people that want help becoming a nomad/rver, maybe you could make some money helping newbies out? Sorry if I am giving you unwanted advice. You remind me of my brother. Take care!
I'm so sorry about what happened to you. We're all so busy, we forget the little things. And, if we haven't done it before, how are we supposed to know how to protect ourselves? We do what we can, and in the end, a lot of us lose out. You were done wrong!
Thanks for the update date. Sorry to hear about all the red tape you had to. Handlers through no fault of your own. Down he lane I hope things will work out for you. Someone may come up with something creative when property gets down to where it should be. In two or three years it has doubled and tripled. Your hair cut and beard trim looks great and makes you look younger and yes very handsome. Hope you can find a cool space for the summer. I will keep you in my prayers for good things to come. All these government officials in towns work in concert with each other. You are blessed you have a good woman who stands by you and Vic versa👍🙏💞🍻
And then they start hitting you up for property taxes and then some areas you can’t even get on it until you get the utilities in and then they have covenants conditions and restrictions. That means you can’t even get on it and tell you build the building that suits their specifications Quartzite is free to be on and slab city is free to be on and I don’t know too many other places to tell you that are left slab cities in California and a lot of people living on Social Security not a lot, but several of them go down to slab city for the winter. Do you want to take a gun? There’s no laws down there and police will not respond. Those people are not under law or under taxes and most of them are pretty decent, but you do have a drunk here and there.
Some quick math 1 pack of cigs a day comes out to about $2,500 a year. One 6 pack of beer a day about $2,800 a year for a rough total of $5,300 a year. That's a chunk of change. I bet there a a lot of places that amount of money would buy a few acres.
You can take any everyday expenses and multiply it out by 365 or 730 or XXXX and end up with a big number eventually. Looks to me that you are being a little judgmental at best
My father had 8 children and never got us on welfare! Some men work harder than others to save there pride! None us us 8 children ever have got on welfare. Thats how u win! Less govt more to the tax payer.
It's my understanding that here in California mobile homes can be registered with DMV and you pay a vehicle tax and are issued license plates. or you can do a non- DMV registration and pay property taxes. Either way, the state gets your money. i watch all your videos and always read Blind Views comments looking for your comments on his channel. I'm the guy who met you in El Cajon at Steve and Rosa's shop when you were there and took you a little "adult liquid refreshment.
There's a lot of us out here where life didn't exactly work out rosy. Keep your chin up and take care of each other.
It was really none of anyone’s business but thank you for clearing up what lots of people were confused about. So sorry that this happened. What a mess! Good for you for holding on to paperwork!
I agree. Really no ones business about personal finances but maybe someone can learn from Dans problems with the State , title company.
Dude, you better give up them smokes
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose..
Thanks for the update. It has been a rough journey for you. I can relate living on social security. I first followed Carolyn when she started van life. She introduce you way back when. You are survivor you keep on going.

When I win the Lottery Ill buy you a couple acres. 😢
I would never sell off my paid OFF property!
Glad to hear from you. We All go through life with ups and downs. Being retired sometimes can be a whole life changing thing. Watching our money more and prices increasing over and beyond our incomes. Stay strong !

Sadly, life happens. Sorry to hear about your property. Thank you for sharing.

Sure enjoyed you doing your videos from your property. Even watching the birds on your feeders.
Hopefully you can find a small parcel that you can afford. Just make sure it is close to a decent road to town. Ausia could use a tank to get o to and from her land. A bad road is very hard on vehicles and your back, never mind the gas to get back and forth for basic supplies.

Dan, we can't even hear you due to the wind noise. Why don't you go inside the bus and make the video so we can all hear you?? I'm moving on.
I turned my volume all the way up and I could hear him fine.
