AIPAC is needed more now than ever. You are a case in point.
Nope! This is NOT acceptable! Heck, these kids haven’t even had any real life experience let alone any right to make such demands! Nor do they have a right to take over public spaces for students or behave as they have, which goes directly against the Student Code of Conduct they all agree to.
Suspension to expulsion for students, and unpaid leave to firing for any staff!
Imagine that young people between the ages 18 and 22 knows more about free speech and how the world works than you. They actually know that there’s a genocide going on and you don’t. They actually knows how finance in colleges work and you don’t.
Unfortunately she didn't really answer the question about the safety of Jewish students on campus.
I already see her future in politics.
Yes, she just knows one word but no description of what has transpired for her to arrive at that conclusion. Different ideology does not mean anti-s.
There is no place for MADNESS we should not be doing anything like this fear runs rampant
With kids camping out, (in those really nice tents), calling out, "From the river to the sea:, how can any Jewish student EVER again feel safe on those campuses?

Ask the ones who joined them. Maybe you should be in controll of your emotions?
“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”. How can calling for the freedom and ending of oppression for one people, mean you want the destruction of another?
Unless you’re saying the only way Palestinians can be free is if Israel doesn’t exist…
How can calls for freedom of human beings in their own place in the world make you feel unsafe unless you don't like freedom

These protestors showed up in October, November 2023. Disappeared in December 2023, January, February and March 2024. Showed up again in April 2024. Why? They cannot camp outside in freezing weather with snow on the ground? If so, these protestors get to choose nice weather to do the protest. The villain must always think they are doing right, hence i understand now your comment.
Columbia's campus needs to be closed down for all students immediately. If Jewish students can not go to classes, then no student will.
Stop sending your kids to college, learn the skills and trades yourself and teach them early on. Make room for what is important and toss out the rest.
While I understand the spirit of your comment, that's not feasible most of the time. My daughter just graduated with a PHD in veterinary sciences. How is it that otherwise intelligent people cannot comprehend that antisemitism is a separate issue from being concerned about the policies of a government. Apart from possibly a few bad actors there is no antisemitism, in fact there are many jewish students protesting against Israel's treatment of Palestinians in Gaza.
It's a bad faith argument by those with power who don't have a moral leg to stand on. Oldest trick in the book - retreat to ad hominem arguments - play the man rather the ball.
This is a total lie, there is tons of anti-semitism. Anyone saying they stand with Hamas is anti-semitic.
Maybe it takes an otherwise special insight to make the link. And to see what some of these sing-songy chants imply. I'm not saying that the two things are synonymous, just that they are closely linked for some unthinking and thinking people.
The only thing antisemitic I can detect is the number of Jewish protestors Minouche Shafik keeps having arrested. Meanwhile, the people quickest to call "antisemitism" think it isn't sufficient punishment.

I was literally on my way to campus to register for class and something told me "this is not the year, take a year off from college." I'm SO glad I listened to that still, small voice. this was definitely not the year to work on my degree. I'll go back after all this BS is over. Maybe.
Just maybe, you might get an actual education and understand what a genocide is and who is funding it.
I am extremely offended by the double standard between treatment of the two sides.
Great journalism by the Hill bringing someone who is really close to the situation. Nothing wrong with what the true students
are doing. Nothing wrong with asking the Columbia leadership to divest. Of course, that might not help. Outside (violent) people are ALWAYS in an issue here.
Where are the protests for the Palestinians that hamas has killed? How about the us hostages still being held by hamas?
Does Columbia do business with Hamas? Does the US? Is Hamas answerable to the United States in any way?
I don't think you understand how protests work. It is not "cheerleading in street clothes."
How will them protesting against hamas make any difference?
America doesn't fund Hamas. It funds Israel.
Or for the people killed in Yemen...
@truthseeker-nv6ny I just think it's ignorant to say free palestine, altho it is being controlled by hamas. Hamas has used supply donations to make rockets instead of help the people. It has stolen aide money and put it in their pockets, instead of help the people.
kudos to these amazing, smart, moral kids. Netanyahu tries to smear them but the truth is crystal clear.
Also I never heard of any college students protesting during the Syrian Civil War nor have they protested against China's treatment of the Uighurs. Are they possibly afraid to protest against China? Their motives thus seem a bit disingenuous.
The future of American children was not involved. Today’s children will never pay this debt in their lifetime.
None of those have the glory of glaring antisemitism.
"Feeling" unsafe isn't the same as being unsafe. Deal with it kiddies.
Are Jewish kids feel safe there?
What a nasty reaction. Four students had to be put into a safe room so they wouldn’t get hurt. Another girl almost had her eye poked out. Now a Jewish professor isn’t allowed to go to work, his entrance card was turned down by the school.

In the vast expanse of the galaxy, if the Jedi Order, were symbolizing Israel, they possesses the power of the Force, akin to nuclear capabilities. It is vital for the Galactic Republic to provide strategic alliances, ensuring that the Force is used for peace and justice, and never for destruction. Furthermore, it is crucial for any Force-sensitive faction, like the Jedi Order, to maintain internal harmony and prevent the rise of any rebellious entities, similar to the Sith, within its ranks.
