PV adjustment on this gas gas seems a bit overcomplicated . I wonder if drilling through the case for an access hole and then tapping and adding a screw to seal it would work ? looks like there might not be enough of a flat spot in the case
mine have very little play, but PV is opening very soon, too soon for hard enduro, sometimes is difficult to hold traction. Otherwise I like the bike very much.
My ec 250 03 isn't getting into its power band either and I didn't look at this side I replaced the barrings on the cover on the other side and cleaned up the exhaust power vavle
My '12 EC300 keeps fouling plugs after about 30 min of riding. I have leaned out the carb, but still no difference. I rebuilt the top end and cleaned PV...still no different. I inspected the reads and checked for air leaks...none! Any chance my PV needs adjusted? Would it cause these symptoms? My power band does "hit" hard now at high RPM's...something the bike never did before. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
at 11:20, thats a big "flywheel" weight fitted stock behind primary gear. Did you ever weigh it? They did experiment with at least 3 different type weights, finally removing them in 2014.
I have out right abused my GasGas. One top end, lol It's still running, at this point I got my moneys worth out of it plus some. Their engines seem pretty bulletproof.
I SO AGREE I have replaced all 13mm, torx and hex bolts and nuts with 8 10 and 12mm bolts/nuts. now I don't have to pack so many tools and my kit is lighter. AND less trips to the toolbox LOL
By the way nice video on the Bendix, long...but I am doing mine in a week or so, will link to your video where I got the idea/fix. Part $20 on ebay (Honda part is $80). I will say I'm not even going to do all the test like you did. Bendix units just wear out due to how they are forced into a gear to spin. Kinda the nature of the beast and at $20 easy enough to pull out, tear down, and plop back in. Even if it works for a year or two at $20 it's a changeable and wearable part. New skid plate coming soon too.
Exactly...Can you do a before "sound" video clip and after the bendix repair? I am interested to see how it sounds (assuming the bendix is making excessive noise). Thanks for your videos, I enjoy them for sure. The 2018 GasGas is sweet, but my favorite has always ben the 2012 style/graphics.
Shit, never saw this. Um I switched over all the gearing. It was just grinding. The new setup has been great, starts so much easier and never grinds. Worth the $10-$40 depending on where you find a Chinese Bendix and the price at the time.
Sounds like the rattle i have on my 2013 EC300.... One thing i also notice, after warmin up the bike, if in neutrel and i press the clutch lever that sound goes away!! Does that mean its a diferent problem or you had the same thing?? Moving the clutch has some affect to to PV mecanism?! Hope you can help me....
@@GabrielBiaziit got a little better after changing the top end, piston was good but the bearing had a little free play and that rattle a little on cold.... But the clutch noise, it's still there.... And after looking around, other gasgas owner's, report the same noise. The original clutch isn't that good, compared to other brand's. The clutch plate has some rubber things behind it (don't remember the name) and that can have some free play after some time, maybe that's the issue....

Check the crank seals on the transmission side it could be burning transmission oil making it foul spark plugs
What is small nipple above the valve that the black pipe is going to? What's it for? Mine has sheered off. Thanks
Just a vent line

Nope, I didn't know. I always wanted more flywheel weight.
Thinking of buying one of these . Any reason I shouldn't?

It's a bike, it could be a lot of things rattling to be honest.
Did you find out? @ricr250
