    Hope to see you come back to VA sometime! Maybe chase some big Cobia on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel! I moved to this area shortly after this video was posted. Love to see some giants being pulled by a Long Island kayak legend haha.

    The lock system in baldwinsville NY has the largest sheep heads I’ve ever caught. About 1999 or so there were absolute monsters living there.

    Hey Elias! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Also this video was really awesome. You are a good fisherman and the fish you caught in this video were so awesome. That is the biggest drum I have ever seen except the red fish drum but yeah awesome catch on that one. Then those sheep heads were really big also but that last sheep head you caught was so big that was a great catch Elias. Wonderful job Elias and I loved this video. Anyway you and your family have a blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.🎆🎊

    I use fresh clam for both species here in NC. If you can find large clams you can get two baits out of the one clam. Try to cut the clam were you have the same amount of muscle on each piece then try to get th point of the hook through the muscle twice when baiting. You don't need a tool to open the clams just put one in each palm of your hands and smash them together. One will break and just use your finger like a spoon to dip the meat out. For the black drum find deeper water, maybe 15 ft or deeper, around the structure to keep the pinfish off the bait. For the sheepshead always bounce the bait off the bottom right up against the pylon you are fishing. This keeps the trash fish off the bait even in shallow water. The sheepshead attack the clam with no picking on it like a catfish. They basically hang themselves. I caught a 15.5 pound sheep in the summer of 1998 in 4ft of water near south port nc.

    Great video man, we'll be towing the boat down for a few days in june for cobia/sheeps, did you try fishing the jig up the water column at all or just on the bottom? Seems the only time to get to jig fish at cbbt is on a slow tide, that water moves.

      stateniland you're right but to hear moaning and groaning like a huge shark is being pulled in just strange for me to hear. I catch really large red drums and black drums and you wouldn't know but only because the rod is doubled over. Ha ha ha no need for vocal enhancement 😂

    Nice video! I noticed you don't seem to have any sort of flotation devices like Savour products, or pool noodles around any of your poles or net, have you ever lost gear? Are you worried about that happening at all? I'm new to kayak fishing and still learning stuff, and my gear is all pretty inexpensive compared to yours (I think my poles would have snapped at those fish in the ocean!). Thanks for posting!

    Awesome video. Hey man, don’t forget about the freshwater fishing here in nc. I don’t know if you’ve ever eaten a flathead catfish, but it’s right there with flounder imo. Maybe even better. Good luck!

    • @EliasVFishing
      @EliasVFishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear flathead is delicious. Not too sure if cape fear is a clean body of water or not to harvest a flathead. Hearing mixed things.

    • @jboat571x9
      @jboat571x9 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      EliasVFishing I don’t ever eat any over about 10 lbs for that reason. Probably the safe thing to do on any body of water. You get plenty of meat off of a 6-10 lb flathead any way.

    Elias v i have to thank you....OMG i watched you trash fish cooking series and decided to try sea robin. This is one of the least tasting fishy of fish ever! i fish out of Raritan bay, sure you know where that is, and have threw so many back. i would have never thought to try this unless for you! I made mine with a batter of shredded coconut and fried it and holy hell was this fish good ! My father of 45+ plus years balked at the idea, but is now i favorite fish and so does he!!!!!!!!!!!!
