  • Climbing Kilimanjaro? I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with my friends and wow was that one crazy summit experience. I go over everything you know preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2020. I talk about all the different routes to take on Kilimanjaro and what gear you should pack and take on the mountain. Kilimanjaro is one of the easiest of the 7 summits and climbing Kilimanjaro as a beginner should not scare you one bit. I go through the pros and cons of each of the Marangu route, Machame route, Lemosho route, Rangai route, Umbwe route, and Northern Circuit

    Hi Joey, it's incredibly rare that I comment a video, but you set a bar here. No blubbering, just pure, fast information flow delivered in an enjoyable, professional format. I didn't have to skip the first three minutes and then 15 seconds every minute and watch the video double speed to not fall asleep. This was an oasis in the desert of youtube. Chapeau!

    I have taken this mountain 5 times. Thrice via Machame route, twice via Umbwe route of which once i did Umbwe gate, Barranco, Arrow Glacier, Summit. This is the toughest route on the mountan !

    I have twice summitted thrice via the Machame route, once via Umbwe- Barranco- Barafu,,route. Then the 5th time i was ready for the toughest, steepest, route ( Umbwe, Barranco, Arrow Glacier-western breach ) which i tackled successfully to the summit.

    Just wanted to add, right after you said to go with the most budget friendly company, you also mentioned making sure the porters' have a decent wage. But if you pick a company that costs a bit more, those employees are making more. Its worth it to spend more to make sure they are making fair wages.

    • @JoeyBriggs
      @JoeyBriggs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Lacy so sadly this is not actually the case. Alot of the companies cost more because they are ran from companies in the USA, Europe, and Australia and just cause they cost more does not mean the porters are getting paid more. You can find a link to the certified companies in the description thats definitely worth checking out

This was one of the times the boat broke down and there was a storm coming in and we went into survival mode stuck out on the island. Haha first step is always take some ash and paint you face to go primal. Glad you liked it!
