- Hi Yarn Lovers,
Here’s a recent yarn purchase I made from Lion Brand to showcase some of the new colours released in the Mandala collection recently. This also follows up from the last video drop where we chatted about the original Mandala colours.
See what I got. What would you make (or have you made) with these wonderful yarns?
Thanks for supporting the channel by watching and commenting.

Hi Gary! You have got to make the Galaxy Square from Bag-o-Day with your new yarn! It's crochet, and really beautiful. Crystal has a TH-cam tutorial on it. Very fun pattern. I used old Mandala, still stunning.
Thanks for sharing the new mandala colors are very pretty. I have not bought them yet I still have plenty here of the regular older mandala cakes, bonus ones, mandala ombre the lion brand mandala baby, mandala cupcake and also lionbrand wool dk cakes. The wool dk and cupcake are now discontinued. Ive done shawls, blankets, scarves, caps and wearables over the years. A granny square vest, a lacy mandala sweater, with mandala ombre a granny stitch hooded cardigan and a wave ripple blanket. The lost souls shawl from Fiber spider. Other designers patterns I have used are from Heart hook home, Mama in a Stitch, Make and do crew. I made a big mandala type blanket from the crochet crowd, I think it was better together, nice and lightweight. From Make and Do crew I made the Dahlia scrapghan and used the yarn to make the center dahlia flowers. I think I used 2 or 3 strands together of the same color to make it thicker and a chunky yarn. A few designers have put together pattern roundups for mandala yarn.. that might help too. If you would prefer an email with pictures of the finished products and links to the patterns let me know. 😊
I made a blanket with mandala spirit and I use the rice stitch everybody loves my blanket I'm so glad that Crystal on bag go day told us all about your videos also made some with the drop sticks or the spike stitch wherever you want to call it I've done it with a lot of different stitches it always works up beautiful
Hey Gary!! I don't usually use patterns...and mostly make shawls, throws, afghans, blankets, shawls and scarves all of which I've made with different iterations of Mandala. It's one of my favourite yarns. Hugs to you and hubby and Pixel too! Much love ❤
Hi, Gary. Let me first say that I love seeing all yarn, it's fun! I like the green ones. Now, I don't buy any of the mandalas. If I mix colors. I like to pick each color myself. I think you know by now, I'm a neutral person. My house is Browns, Beiges, taupes, and Grays with dark blood red as my accent color. I wear blacks and neutral tones. When I crochet, I tend to use those colors except when making things for others. I let my family pick the colors they like. I still love seeing all the different yarns and colors, also the beautiful things people make from all these different colors. Loved watching you as always. Peace and love 😊💛😀
Hi Gary! I have made a shawl from a Mandala Bonus Bundle in the colorway Meowth. It was absolutely gorgeous! The shawl was a free pattern by Kirsten Holloway called Primrose and Proper. One bonus bundle made that whole, glorious shawl. I've also made a mermaid tail blanket using three of the standard Mandala cakes. It was called the Mermaid Lap Blanket by Felene Grammer, also a free pattern. The only caution I have is that this yarn is not anti-pilling. The mermaid blanket needed to be washed several times, and it pilled quite noticeably. Three cakes made a child-sized or teen-sized blanket, and it was absolutely gorgeous, but now I know to save Mandala for hand wash / lay flat projects, at least in my world!
Hank is conspicuously missing, lol! Love the werewolf and Sandman. Pi el is absolutely adorable!
Good morning Gary, yes I used the Mandala Ombré in the colour Harmony.I made The Essential Sweater (cardigan) by Pamela of Pamela’s Adoring Crochet.I love it…it’s so soft.😊🧶💙Aww love the pictures of Pixel especially the one of him on the boat at the lake 🐾❤️
Hello Gary ! Wow the colors on those Mandalas are super pretty. And ombre is gorgeous. Ty for sharing. Hi Pixel ❤❤❤
I love Mandala yarns and the names. They've come up with names from folklore, myths, comic books, cartoons, and games,
Pixel is innocent❤❤❤❤
Hi Pixel. You have fun adventures
I've used Mandala for many baby blankets, scarves, and even a few smaller shawls. Mixing the cakes is always fun!
The yarn is beautiful
Love the ombré!
Hi gary, those are pretty colours ❤❤
I love that a lot of the Mandala colors are names of mythical creatures.
Lovely colors. Thank you for sharing about moomba, I had never heard of it. What a wonderful tradition.
