I’m making lots of socks this summer- I just finished some colourwork ones called Summer Meadows by Stone Knits (trying to use patterns in books I bought!) and I just stocked up on sock yarn on a recent trip to Ontario. I love your Seashore Stroll tee and need to get some yarn to make my own. Currently have a sweater on time out because I’m debating on sizing up and tried on the yoke and I’m the same as you “it’s just a bib and I’m not sure what to do!” 😂

I knitted a pair of socks for my middle son. He grew out of them 3 months later. So, I get to knit another pair. Knitting a sock is not my favorite thing, but I enjoy it.

I just found your TH-cam channel, and I’m so very happy to see and hear about your socks, because socks are all I want to knit! I can’t get enough sock talk, and my favorite part is seeing the different yarns and how they knit into a sock. I'm intrigued by the silk and linen yarn. I went to Indulgences and couldn't find the base. Do you know if they still make it? I'm hoping to start making socks again. I'll either start with Hermiones or a DK sock. Thanks for the push!!
I really enjoyed working with the Silken Linen. I've since finished the tshirt and it's so nice to wear! Yesterday I was looking at my stash and thinking dark grey, navy and burgundy for a Tolsta and then I turn on TH-cam today and there you are with similar colours 😃 Question…I haven’t purchased the pattern yet but my friend has, hers is for fingering weight yarn. Is there a different Tolsta pattern for DK weight?

I am new to your podcast and actually to any video podcast of knitters until about a month ago. Love all your tees and I do like the idea of making the sleeves 3/4 length on the striped Tolsta Tee. I am just finishing my first Vanilla Sock using the magic loop for these old hands 🙂and love the SOCK pattern for the giveaway. I enjoyed watching! Also, going to check out the Brownie recipe.
Hello from the coast at Cape Douglas, South Australia. A cold winter here, no rain unfortunately - in drought. I love too, Leanne from the Knitty Stew. Im currently knitting a summer dress "Born on the Beach" to wear in Egypt/Jordan. Its not a well written pattern. I believe there is a mistake on page 4 with the wrong * (askterist) and not clearly written when translating to English.

Hi Sophie, thanks for sharing your lovely projects, I enjoyd watching this episode. Loved the Big Smoke sock pattern and the colours of the yarn you used to knit them. The stripes in your Tolsta tee are not very wide, may-be you could have carry them along to avoid weaving in all these ends later? Good you don’t mind weaving in ends, though. I myself also don’t mind it actually when the result is worth it, but sometimes it is good to make your life easier, is’nt it. 😊 Have a great Summer!
I am so impressed by all your projects and how consistent you seem to be in your making. Summer sees me not knitting much, although I am trying some summer fibres this year and that seems to be working. Just finished my first Telstra tee last week. It was such a quick knit. I’m currently on a “break” but I always have some sock yarn in my bag. It’s my “Emergency knitting”. Currently my sock yarn is turning into a Musselburgh hat but I do actually occasionally use my sock yarn for socks. Thanks for another lovely episode!

Hi Sophie. It’s so great to spend time with you again. You’ve had so many great projects to share in this episode. I’ve been inspired for sure. The Seashore Stroll tee is stunning and that blue color looks so great on you! I’ve been considering making the Tolsta Tee as well but it will likely be next summer before I have the time. Maybe I’ll make up some long sleeve versions for the winter. Can you tell me what gauge the fingering version is written at? I have tried to figure it out from people’s project pages but no luck. I’m going to be casting on the Amelie tee by PetiteKnit and the Rib Tee from Knitting For Olive but I have to finish up some patterns I have to release for the fall first. I just checked for the gauge for the Tolsta Tee for fingering weight is 24 Stitches and 32 Rows per 4 inches in stockinette. Hope that helps! Short is not a bad thing, I am all of 4’ 8.5”. I don’t mind, I just tell people that I don’t take up too much space in the world, makes more room for others that way 😂. Being older, I know I am not going to get any taller, actually I have unfortunately shrunk a bit from what I used to be.

If only I actually WAS a sock knitter more than just wanting to be one lol I’ve 4-5 ufo sock wip’s I pull out once a year, add 2-3 rows then back in the sack it goes for many moons. Great projects, and good looking finished tee!

I really enjoyed watching Sophie but sadly I had to rip out part of my Tolsta since I had forgotten and increase a few rows back. It made it less painful to do this while seeing all of your wonderful sweaters and sock projects. Best wishes!

Just found your podcast and it’s very enjoyable. I was knitting socks all the time, but got a little burnt out after a couple years of it. As a semi-monogamous knitter, I’m now trying to have one big project and socks on the needles at one time.
Thank you for sharing the sock pattern. I love that texture pattern and I'm wanting to have patterns for all different types of heals to decide what I like best. This came at the perfect time, scrolling online the other day I saw a skein of yarn I cannot stop thinking about. I have gone back and looked at it over 5 times in 2 weeks. I think I will buy it and a mini then maybe have enough for a hair accessory of some kind. 💙

If you check Hermione’ everyday sock has a different pattern. You knit a broken rib stitch which is different. Your are so beautiful in these colors.

This was the first of your podcasts I’ve watched and I so enjoyed it! The shirt you have on is glorious and I appreciate the detail you included in talking about its construction. As a fairly new knitter I learn a great deal from descriptions like that. Length of your podcasts? Personally I like the longer versions…and when I don’t have time to watch the whole thing I just use that knifty “pause” button 😂 The only pair of socks Ive ever finished I made with regular yarn I had, not knowing that real sock yarn was a thing. So I just wear them to bed when it’s cold out. Live and learn! Thanks for letting me share a bit of the afternoon with you ❤

Sorry I watched your podcast a month late, but, with your own words 'I did not have the brain space' to knit, so I didn't watch youtube - anyway, you have one of the loveliest podcasts here, I really enjoy to watch it!!. Not trying to give unwanted advice, but if you allow me I'm telling how I use the yarn in striped items. Apart from trying another method of jogless each time without a really satisfying result as I'm an irregular knitter - I don't cut the yarn but lead it upwards by crossing it with the yarns that come over it (more or less like in intarsia) if there are not too many colours in-between. If taken care just to make the necessary wraps is does not result bulky. Have a nice summer!
I love and welcome fellow knitters give out advice! We all want to help each other and always love learning alternate ways to do things! So for this one I actually did try carrying the yarn and failed miserably! 😂my tension was all off and it looked bad. so I gave up on it since I'm impatient LOL. But I really do want to get better an more efficient so I will give it a go on my next stripe project. 💖 So Thank you so much for watching and comment.
