    Great video as always, Derick. Wish I'd had this years ago when I did mine. I'll make sure and refer anyone to your video if someone needs to install fogs.

    Great video! My mechanic installed mine over a year ago. He said he had a problem wiring them so they go off when I turn on the high beams, not that it matters, these back country roads I need all the light I can get. Thanks for the great videos!

      You would need to tap into the low beam positive wire with the red wire that I crimped the fuse tap onto if you want it to function like that.

    Great video! Personally, the green switch drove me nuts. But, I was able to find a direct plugin replacement on Amazon that more closely matched the orange glow of the instrument cluster.

    I think my wiring harness is different than this one. My ground wire is nowhere near long enough to reach that factory ground location

  • @jumanjingus
    @jumanjingus 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi Derrick, I read in a comment somewhere you said you preferred the wiring on the OEM fog lights because it ties in to the stock wiring somehow? Could you explain what the difference is, or if one could modify the winjet kit's wiring to be like the OEM kit?
    I'd prefer to get the OEM fogs but most Toyota part stores here ask for about $360 Canadian before tax and shipping, which is absolutely insane for a pair of fog lights lmao. Thanks

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know about how to modify the wiring to work with the OEM kit; that's going to be a pain because the harnesses connectors are different. It's been a while since I added fog lights to my tC, so lemme see if I can remember how it's laid out... there's a 2 pin plug behind the drivers side fog light hole that a splitter harness connects to that goes to the left and right fog lights. That plug runs to the relay box hidden under the car stereo (you need to add a relay) and then continues to the blank switch plate where you would install the fog light switch.

    • @jumanjingus
      @jumanjingus 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow, quick reply. Good to see you're still active.
      Anyway that's some useful info, I read somewhere else that most of the wiring is there even if the car didn't come with fog lights. Might be worth figuring out for people who want a more OEM setup.
      It sucks cause most of the price of the OEM is probably the light housings themselves, which I want to replace with projectors eventually anyway. I really just need the bumper inserts and the wiring.

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jumanjingus I may not be posting videos at the moment, but I try to keep up with questions on my Channel. But yeah, the main wiring from the engine bay to the car interior is there. You just need the lights, the harness to connect both of them to the OEM wiring, a relay (I think it's the 2nd spot down on the relay block), and a switch (the connector in the car should be wrapped up in tape). Maybe you can find the parts at a junk yard?

    Hey Derrick! By any chance, do you know what module controls the Lights off when locked function in the 14+ TCs? I have a 2012, and I’d love to gain the function that turns off the headlights, even when left on the “on” position, when the car is locked. Sadly, Scion decided to leave this feature out on the pre-facelift TC2s. Which is strange given all 05-10 models have it. I’ve asked on many forums/subreddits, and no one seems to know. Thanks in advanced!

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately no. I wasn't aware there was a difference with the headlight operation between the two variations.

      @@VampyreX13 Yes I can confirm this is true. I had an 07 tc and now I have a 2013 tc. And my old one turned off the lights when the car was off and when you would lock the car it was a pretty cool feature tbh because you can just leave them on and they would come on when you would crank the car

    Is it necessary to remove the bumper for installation?

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a lot easier if you remove the bumper, but you can work your way to the backside from the wheel well if you move the fender liner out of the way and pull the edge of the bumper out a little.

    Hi I’m trying to find a good fog lights for my 2014 Scion TC. And I’m having trouble finding one. Also I read that it’s best to get the color of the fog lights yellow. Any help would be useful please. Also, how long does it take to install fog lights?

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I put links in the video description, and yes, yellow (3000K) is best to use since it will cut through fog and rain better. I actually have headlights that I can change to yellow (th-cam.com/video/9rkLxTfv9Ko/w-d-xo.html) to match when driving in bad weather conditions. If you're not used to installing equipment on cars, it might take 2-3 hours to do, less if you have help.

    hi question, do you need to take the positive and negative off the battery terminal before screwing the ground in and putting the fuses in the fuse box? dumb question I know, but wanted to know

      You only need to disconnect the negative terminal.

    How do you wire the Fog lights to turn on and off without having to turn on the Headlights.

    • @VampyreX13
      @VampyreX13  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Find a spot on the fuse box that is only powered when the car is on, such as the cigarette lighter, and plug the fuse tap in there instead.

      That's actually the first time I've heard of one of their kits missing parts, but it's not uncommon that companies can't just ship out the missing items. If you ordered it on Amazon, they should have sent you a replacement if you let them know it was incomplete.
