    Recently bought the Free Metcon 3’s for HIIT Bootcamp style workouts (F45) & love them for cardio days there once broken in. As cardio days there is a mix of HIIT, agility, & some weights. They are ok for lifting days there as it’s not that heavy but I can still tell a much improved stability difference in my NanoX’s on lifting days there & in my usual lifts in the gym. These guys are PERFECT for your HIIT style workouts & everything in between. And yes, they do feel narrow on me- I have to wear thin socks.

    Just bought these shoes on Christmas sales. Still a good workout sneaker, despite being an older model. Never really felt the differences in the models as an amateur. However, Thank you very much for the size and fit tip. I wonder if i would’ve had a problem if I had ordered the usual size.

    I wear a lot of Hoka and Saucony to the gym, but noticed they’re no good for lifting ( no stability and too cushioned) so I’m moving on to Metcon4, I need better stability… I’m looking to purchase these today ❤

    Just bought these bad boys thanks to your review! I also have the metcon 6 but they're not helpful for HIIT days. I was hesitating between these, the superrep and the Nano X. But these were in 50% discount today and I bought them. I'm rather a recreational lifter (Home workouts) with 1x week HIIT training, so I hope they'll work fine for me 🥰

    Hi Jake, I have been following you for a while and love your reviews 🙌. My training consists of High intensity workouts, running and weights (I have separate lifting shoes for squats/deadlifts which I always carry with me). I also do tend to enjoy a run after some of my workouts (around 10km on the theeadmill). So looking for a well rounded trainer and trying to decide between this shoe and the Nano X2, what would you go for between the two? I have flat feet in case that's important. Look forward to your reply 🙏

    • @thatfitfriend

    I love the look and concept of these but I’ve got crazy high arches and the fixed tongue makes me a bit hesitant. Do you think going up half a size would alleviate the tightness? I have a narrow midfoot and nikes consistently fit me well but I’ve never tried a fixed tongue shoe.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question - I think in this case try them on before just to be sure (I have a slightly similar foot structure, btw!). At times, the last for men and women's shoes can be slightly different depending on the brand - in this case it might not be - but I also don't want you to invest in a pair of shoes that don't fit well. I think if you went a half size up it would be a safe bet, however, if you can try them on first that will be your best bet. I believe Finish Line and Dick's are getting them in in the next two weeks (at least that's what I was told on the phone), so if you can hold off to try them on at a store near you, I would do that!

    • @thatfitfriend

      Apex 2 = Wider toe box, a bit more stability through midsole/outsole, and heavier.
      NFM4 = Narrow last, very maneuverable, and really lightweight.
      If you bias your training with more lifting and not so much "reactive" focused work, then I'd say Apex 2. Conversely, if you want a model for some lifting and a lot of athletic-focused training, then NFM4 will be your best bet!

      If they’re thicker orthotics, then I’d worry these would feel super tight due to their upper construction. If they’re thin, then you should be okay!

    Confused between these and metcon 8.
    Which has higher heel and more stability.

    Hi Jake free metcon 3 feels very tight on my feet which gives feet fatigue. I got them 1size big but still they fit way too snug. Do the free metcon 4 feel the same or they fit little loose. Should I go 1.5 size higher with the FM4

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I would say pass on them. They also fit wicked tight in the toe box and have limited volume. IMO, this may just be a model that has a last that doesn’t align with your foot anatomy. Do you want some comparable options?

    I am so sick with Nike making shoes that are too tight, just like these and the Turbos. As customers we should not have to worry about size that much when picking shoes. I have one same size for the Metcon Free 2 & 3 and the Metcon 4, 5 & 6. Then the Turbos were way too tight using that same size - you cannot move your toes at all - and no, I do not have wide feet, just normal ones. Now watching this review I am really not compelled to even try the Metcon Free 4. Fine. I will keep my money until Nike fixes all these sizes issues.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I would say pass on this model if you felt the other models were tight! These are very “meh” from an overall sizing perspective!

      @@thatfitfriend Thank you for your response. To be clear all shoes I mentioned were great to me until the Turbos and now the Free 4. Let us see if Nike can fix this sizing issue in future versions of the shoes...

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're pretty good! Best relative to what? I think this model can be best for some folks, but best is always contextual.
      For example, if you have narrower feet and like to blend lighter lifting + HIIT, then this model does a solid job.

    • @ricardo1322

    I just spend my sunday with my new phantom 2 more awsome than i thought.First i think this design can support basic workout and stable enough for deadlift and squats not for heavy reps but when running on machine i feel this one is so good when you in high level of running , you will feel this shoes is moving with your speed .Very flexibility with some activities like badminton or long hours walking make your leg keep moving and enjoy these activities even thought it's heavy a little bit but there is nothing to complaine this shoes and next one maybe a basketball shoes for hangout with my friends lol! :))
