For me, born in '84 in Portugal and first exposed to "The Sound of Music" at a very young age (about 6/7), I can never forget that. It is so foundational to me. Everything about t was so amazing: the wonderful music and lyrics, learning about all the similarities and analogies between myself/my family and the von Trapps, learning about people outside my immediate proximity, learning English and how English could meld into wonderful melodies and English, learning about Austria and Germany and WWII (which I was to process over the course of many, many years) and everything together building an awareness that the World was much more wide than the immediate vicinity of my parents and my family and my town - all this melding with the riveting Music and song....
The US have truly made a huge contribution to Humanity, no matter how many problems they have (which have been under scrutiny in recent decades but really are the same that Humanity have always had). I'm thankful to all the creators that have made all this possible.
FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY Mary Poppins! When I was young some of the lyrics were hard to understand but through the years all those melodies and lyrics and situations in life were so remarkable to me. Not to mention, OMG, the animated characters are interacting with the real actors?? OMG THIS IS MAGICAL AND AWESOME!
EDIT: yep, in retrospect, I got a thing for the lovely Julie Andrews! And I'm, proud I do, too!

      I couldn't let this lie.
      Absolutely!
While in the shower, I have never sung 'Steppin' Out With my Baby' from Easter Parade. I HAVE however sung the titular 'Easter Parade'. So I give Mojo's list about a 4 out of 10.
Nor, while in the shower, have I ever sung New York New York or even Ease on Down the Road or anything from Willy Wonka.
With about half an hour of Googling, I came up with my own list of additions that are actually good shower songs. Mojo, you've got to at least consider:
      Tonight - West Side Story
On the Street Where You Live - My Fair Lady
Edelweiss - The Sound of Music
      Hello Dolly - Hello Dolly
Wouldn't It Be Loverly - My Fair Lady
Show Me - My Fair Lady
The Rain in Spain - My Fair Lady
Get Me to the Church on Time - My Fair Lady
How are things in Glocca Morra - Finnegan's Rainbow
Ding Dong the Witch is Dead - The Wizard of Oz
At the End of the Day - Les Miserables
Master of the House - Les Miserables
Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' - Oklahoma
Put on a Happy Face - Bye Bye Birdie
      What a Feeling - Flashdance
Together Wherever We Go - Gypsy
      Fame - Fame
Money Makes the World Go Round - Cabaret
Chim Chim Cheree - Mary Poppins

My most catchy song is “Que Sera, Sera” by Doris Day from The Man Who Knew Too Much, not necessarily a musical, but about the most catchy song by a songstress not to even appear on this list. Judy Garland’s “Trolley Song,” from the great “Meet Me In Saint Louis” ought to be number one on this list, at least according to my daughters. My wife and I do karaoke because we grew up with musicals. She is from Manhattan, and I was a military brat whose father worked at embassies as a military translator and analyst, so I went to private schools with the embassy kids. We got a huge amount of cultural exposure all over the map. But we got plenty of Gilbert and Sullivan, Rogers and Hammerstein, Rogers and Hart, etc et al, ad infinitum, and so on and so forth. Ballet and opera and Shakespeare festivals and everything from country to classical. We were made as familiar with Flatt and Scruggs as we were with Aaron Copeland and Arthur Fiedler. So I got a formal education. But they insisted on balance, hence blues and bluegrass got equal billing. Jazz and rockabilly got the same treatment. And comedy through the ages was actually a course of study. The feeling was that if you cannot learn to laugh at yourself, you were not well balanced. And languages and singing were taught. Even if you could not carry a tune with matching luggage, you still had to learn HOW to sing. Our music teacher would also look for those people that would perform in one of our four annual plays/musicals. I played Linus one year in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. It was fun. We enjoyed doing stuff like that.

This must've been a tough list to compile, cuz I can think of a ton more: "Trouble" & "Wells Fargo Wagon" from The Music Man, "All That Jazz" from Chicago, half of the Jesus Christ Superstar sound track, "Impossible!" from Cinderella . . .

    Cell Block Tango from Chicago
There's No Business Like Show Business' titular song

Shall We Dance from The King & I
^Definitely need to be in this list

I was also going to suggest "There's No Business Like Show Business" However it is from the musical "Annie Get Your Gun". Another I thought of - "It's a Grand Night for Singing" which is a Rogers/Hammerstein hit song from "State Fair".

As much as I love "I could of danced all night", the most catchy song in My Fair Lady is "I'm getting married in the moring". Also where is "You got trouble" or "Shapoopi" from The Music Man.

Musicals I would have included: The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Les Miserables, Muppet Treasure Island (LOL), Pete's Dragon, Phantom of the Opera, and The Producers. If we include modern musicals and movies that just have song and dance numbers here and there, I would also include: The Birdcage, Cry Baby, The Greatest Showman, Labyrinth, Mamma Mia, Moulin Rouge, Pitch Perfect 1-3, Rock of Ages, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Selena, Spice World, and Teen Witch.
