About the sail on the raft if anyone is interested going directly downwind (in the direction of the wind) is not the fastest due to the fact that the wind dissipating off the side of the sails thus having it slightly tilted allows for it to catch the wind. While going against the wind try to avoid going within 20 degrees (about it is theory after all) on either side of the wind since that's when u will begin to reverse. This is if you wish to move forward while going against the wind. All this is assuming the game uses real sailing theory which it seems to do from what I have seen. Hope my sailing skills provided to be helpful.
Yeah it looks really fun. Can't wait to take a boat out and go fishing with some friends. You should have a fishing tournament live stream. Just make it so you get a limited time to fish and see who catches the most or biggest amount. Thanks for the great videos keep it up.

You also have an arrow on top of your mast to show where the wind comes from and u can steer by shifting your weight aswell. So not necessary to stay standing all the time while moving
Used to be a really good game that had a really good vision. Now, the devs dont care. After 2.8k hours, heres what i think NetCode: For more than a year the game hasnt be able to handle more than 40 people on a server. The second the 40th person logs in, you do nothing but rubber band. Theres about 1 private server that i know of that doesnt do this but thats becaue they pay for literally the best hardware you can get to run the server. ( its not cheap by anymeans). Puppets (basically zombies) Theyll randomly teleport behind you mid swing due to desync caused by piss poor netcoding. Sound Design: The sound design of this game is just for lack of better words, complete and utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Footsteps are ungodly loud and sound like theyre underwater. You wont hear a player in a vehicle until theyre basically running you over. Gunshots will sound extremely loud or extremely quiet. Just depends on where you are standing. Punching and kicking sound like they were ripped from a batman comic. Other Bugs that have persisted for more than a year: Bullet chambered in guns disappearing. Mags deleting themselves when reloading. Mags not correctly packing the amount of ammo they should. Hit boxes not registering hits for melee when they should, and registering hits when they shouldnt. Falling through the ground when jumping through windows. Static objects not rendering in while driving potentially getting vehicles stuck or blown up. Puppets (zombies) running thru walls, or phasing thru the ground. Just Bad Design thats been ignored since at least 0.5 when i bought the game (currently 0.8.3): Terrible render distances, you think your safe from people laying in that tall grass? no, 200 meters out, it doesnt render in. you are laying in an untextured field for everyone else. You feel safe behind something you built for cover? no, it doesnt render in passed 400 meters, you look like ur laying in nothing. Cooking, youd think in a survival focused game that has a super detailed metabolism would have cooking working partially. Nope not Scum. cooking doesnt do anything. make skewers if you use meat no cooking needed. if you try cooking have fun lying ♥♥♥♥ in the dirt for no benefit. If it will even cook. Anything PVE, theres only 4 things that can kill you, stupidity by not eating or drinking water, puppets/zombies/Mechs(robots that protect military locations), and Players. Once you figure out how to sneak around mechs, and fight puppets, there is no PVE. you can say animals are a threat, but are they really? i see players more often than animals. Plus the animals are just stupid, get on a rock and wait for them to deaggro. then run away. The problem with the Game Right Now: The devs put stupid cosmetic items that are designed to do nothing but attract new people to buy the game is all thats every worked on anymore. We used to get major updates that would add quite a bit, polish up some mechanics, and lay the ground work for future mechanics. Now we get ♥♥♥♥ removed, promises for better versions of it that never come, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like "sexy female character models" and high heels? This game is supposed to be about prisoners surviving on an island that was turned into a gameshow by an evil company. Not sure how prisoners that all could literally be models makes any sense. Or adding a ton of chinese new year ♥♥♥♥? in a game, that takes place, in CROATIA?!?! Rather than fixing anything ive listed, theres more believe me, those are just the most pressing to me, they just add more ♥♥♥♥ that makes no sense. If you watch any of the trailers expecting anything to resemble that, you are going to be very upset. The majority of whats in the trailers, isnt 1 possible to do, or 2 not even in the game. Whether it used to be or had never been in it. There is no story, they say "oh its coming dont worry" but for 2 years now theyve said cooking was coming, they said more PVE monsters and Human AI are coming. If all your focus is PVP with some babysit your character mechanics tied in, this is the game for you. If ur looking for a hardcore survival game that has equal parts PVE-PVP, this isnt it. Everything started going down hill after .75 dropped. Nothing has made sense unless you put a tin foil hat on. Gamespires, the Scum dev studio, was acquired by the publisher Jagex, if you dont know who that is, just google it and what theyve done. Then 0.8 drops the game was basically unplayable, they changed the respawning mechanic to be depended on ingame currency. Gamespires scrambled to fix scum, they barely got it working. Then 0.8.2 comes along and adds useless ♥♥♥♥ again fixing almost nothing. Then 0.8.3 comes out and turns your characters hands into paper. You crawl? Hand abrasion instantly, you chop a branch? hand abrasion. you craft ANYTHING, hand abrasion (which can lead to death or infection which can lead to death also) literally existing causes injury now. AAAAAAAANNNNNND in a survival game where ur supposed to loot and steal your way to surviving, you now have to pay in game currency to fill up a vehicle at the ABANDONED gas stations. So since being acquired by a questionable publisher, Jagex, the game is suddenly getting extremely tedious and is beginning to revolve around an ingame currency.... you should be able to make the connection on your own what that probably means. Conclusion: I used to really really love Scum. It was literally my favorite game. I dumped 2,890 hours as of writing this, into the game. But i just cant defend gamespires anymore. They dont have a clear focus or direction on where they want the game to go at this point. Every update just brings more problems than it fixes. The time period the game has been in early access and how well the game actually performs is undefendable and inexcusable. It just feels like the devs sold completely out. Hopefully everyones rose tinted glasses will fall off like they did for me and the devs pull their heads out of their asses. If you like PVP with more realistic gunplay, but not quite as intense as tarkov, and want to have to take care of your character, try scum. If you are looking for a more in depth DayZ or Rust style survival, dont waste your time or money. You'll be disappointed, and thats coming from someone who thought Scum did it better than both Rust and DayZ. Again, i hate to leave the bad review, ill gladly delete it and make a positive one if things change, but the way the game is right now, and the direction its headed, i couldnt recommend to anyone

Any idea how to repair the rubber boat came from naval base.?Car repair kit and tool box doesnt work. But on the other motor wood boat tool box is working fine..
I'm thinking about to build a base on some island, just wanna be far away from people. But is kinda hard with all this stuff (you need a boat, you need to carry cargo from the one coast to the other, it's not easy)
Hi! Small problem with big impro raft sail. When i press E, sail turns right but it doesn’t turn left when i press Q. It’s stuck facing right. When i’m not operating the raft, my character leans L&R normaly with Q&E. Help please!
I made a large raft and anchored just off the shore of Novigrad, came back a few days later, my raft and everything I had looted was gone. This is a single player game. Any ideas??? Do rafts just despawn after a while? This sucks!
Was hoping to learn how to get off the thing. I just stared and got on a boat and couldn’t figure out how to get off of it. Had to make a new character.

Dont Unanchor your boat ive tested it, it doesnt make u go any faster and youll never have to worry about your boat floating away when you get off it. your welcome in advance :)
why am i unable to craft an improvised wooden paddle? I have the nails, stone knife, wooden planks, and longstick. I can craft other items in the basic category, so why isn't this working? jfc im really beginning to hate this game.
@@BossMan-yu1og I'll assume they got better, since I stopped playing. But no, not like real life. You don't fly off into the air if the boat glitches. You don't fall through the floor of the boat if you hit a wave wrong. You can walk around boats without falling off in real life. Basically, in scum, if you weren't in a seat, you ran the very serious risk of going overboard. And if you were wearing gear, you had to ditch it or you'd drown.
THis game has so many amazing features that PvP only ruins it. ¿How could you enjoy fishing on a boat if you are all the time worrying about someone sniping you?
Boats are actually pretty incredible and shows what this engine is capable of and more importantly.. Gamepires.

They should have given the SUP a bit of storage space. Could have had a dry-bag bungeed to it, and maybe a way to store a paddle.

Boats. Stay off the ocean when it storms. Get in and out one at a time. Stay in your seat. Boats are absurdly unstable.. use at your own peril.

you can over weight the boats. if youre too heavy it will sink
The big craft is useless I know it meant to be realistic but it’s stupid the wind can’t carry you any where please get them to fix it
