I have owned many bikes, the only ones that never left me stranded where my Hondas. My last bike was an 02 VTX1800C, serial number ending in 000022, I put 120k miles on it, trying to break it, no way. All I ever did was change the oil & filter every 5k miles, cooling system drain & fill every 24k miles, compression test every 8k miles, valve adjustment @ 64k miles, when the compression went from 95 to 70 psi, fork seals at 63k miles & again at 118k miles & finally, clutch springs @ 84k miles. Then on my way to work one day, a woman, on her cell phone, pulled out in front of me & I t-boned her truck..sad day all around. I miss that bike.
Anyway, outstanding videos sir. Keep up the good work.

I just went to 110/40 jets and have velocity stacks. In top gear it seems to loose acceleration. The engine seems to be struggling to get RPM in this gear. All other will be fine. Would this be that I need to adjust the needles? I have adjusted the A/F mixture screws as best I can. Tempted to ride up to Austin and have you check it out. When i save some cash up anyways.

Hi Taylor, since past week i’m getting up to speed watching your videos. I enjoy watching you fix those old Cb’s (being a former owner of a Honda Cb500f)
I also like the way you interact with your viewers. This cuts both ways obviously, so here are my 50 cents:
In my younger days i worked a lot on my daily driver, a Honda CB500f (1976) to keep it on the road safely and cheap. One of the (few) problems I encountered was a failing starter solenoid. As a “poor” angry young man I couldn’t afford to buy me a new one, so I opened the solenoid up. Inside there’s a magnet that pulls on a small horizontal copper bar when the starter button is engaged. That bar connects the two high power contact points from battery and starter motor. Because of wear due to arcing, the copper was eaten away at the “business end”, so the bar did not connect the two contact points anymore.
I loosened the bolt on the copper bar and simply flipped the bar over so the pristine upside was now the business end and i sealed the solenoid. After that the solenoid was as good as new and worked for many years. Maybe this hack can be of some use to you.
    Cheers😃

Know they’re a pain but love the slash cut individual header pipes and raked out front and everything about this bike lol. I’ll have to build one to replicate it now. Always loved Hondas (family thing) but had a kawi, Suzuki, and now a Yamaha that I’ve taken from literal $300 basket cases and built running bikes out of so one day I hope to take it easy and resurrect an old Honda. Enjoy the videos, Keep at it!

My CB750C takes forever to start up. I have to hold the start button for like 15 seconds. I cleaned out the carbs and all the passages (main, pilot jets etc.) and replaced the float needles and float bowls. Im running the stock airbox as well. Once it starts, it needs choke for a while to idle. After that, it's fine. But, what should I look at for the long starting process? It happens even if I cold start the bike the next day.

Hey Taylor. Do you think there's any way to route the pipes of a cb 4cyl to gain ground clearance for a scrambler build? And perhaps add belly protection.

I like seeing everything but the metal work. Please stop jumping with a screwdriver or other tool. Wire it up enough to use a real switch. It damages the tool and whatever parts you are touching. Not a good example. Thanks for the videos.

if you rebuild the starter motor clutch, my old "86 vfr750 would spin the motor without engaging the engine.

Couple of years late here but I’d have liked to see you retain the spirit of what the previous owner was trying to do but do it better! Think that coulda been interesting. I guess it’s a customers bike though and he who pays the piper calls the tune right.

How about adding some financials and i know you had the video about why you dont disclose what people bought your bikes for, but you could have started this video explaining how you evaluated this bike condition and its for sale price, at that time how much in costs and time you estimated to come out with the decision to buy it, and what the market valur may be onve completed.

What's your process for painting the engines black. Looked through your video's and can't seem to find one on that?

Great job. Is there a reason why someone would put the 550 motor in a 500 frame? Other than the obvious (have a 500 frame and a good 550 motor).
