Sega only cares about Sonic, SMT, Yakuza, a handful of Mega Drive (Genesis) games (which does not include the Japan-exclusive remake of the first Phantasy Star but does include all three sequels. • @Kilthan2050
      @Kilthan2050 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Trickle down economics works when its blanket tax cuts for net tax payers. Which is roughly 30% of the country at this point, and most taxes being paid by the 10%, which is anyone making over 100k outside if New York and LA.
      Trickle down doesn’t work when the government is allowed to pick winners and losers, which is what we have now. The small and medium businesss? They get shut down for three years while everyone is funneled into the big stores that give kick backs to government.
      In the case of gaming: the government lets the Big Dogs (MS, EA, etc) gobble up little and medium size devs without concern for the marketplace.
      Look at how EA bought so many companies so cheaply. They piled on frivolous lawsuits until the other company was bankrupt and had to sell. It violates several FTC regulations but they are allowed to get away with it.

    • @Kilthan2050
      @Kilthan2050 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Peasham it does work. What doesn’t is cronyism. Statistically, only about 45-6% are net tax payers. The top 10% pay 90% of federal taxes. The job creators almost all fall into that top 10%, because most small business owners end up in top tax brackets even if they aren’t rich. Cut taxes for all net tax payers and it will, by nature of economics, trickle down. The ultra rich buy another solid gold yacht, which creates jobs in yacht making, but the rest of business owners either spend money on things they need or reinvest in their business. Buying things creates demand which creates job as businesses seek to increase supply to meet demand. Investing in businesses creates jobs either directly (owner hires more people) or indirectly (buys new equipment, drives demand for equipment, which creates jobs to increase supply to meet that demand.)
      My point is that what OP was complaining about is not “trickle down” economics. When the government picks winners and losers, things don’t trickle down, they get funneled into pools that are already overflowing.

The only exceptions were the Ori games (which were later ported to the Switch), and of course, Hi-Fi Rush. Not only was it one of the first games I played on Steam (I finally got a PC last year), but it was my favorite game of 2023. And seeing the news of the studio closure was devastating. Yes, the Active Whiteout buyout cost a lot, but if you’re going to close down studios, why would you go with a studio whose most recent game won several awards?! This has assured that I’m never getting an Xbox, not buying game pass (though I might eventually use the free 3 months I got with my PC), and if any of their games happen to catch my interest, I’ll just get it on PC.

    To this day, I have no idea where Xbox hardware even is. I lost track after Xbox One I think. XBox Series X? Series S?
    Xbox -> Xbox 360 -> Xbox One -> Xbox Series X? What even is this naming scheme? I don't even play Playstation, but at least its names are sequential, and at least most of Nintendos' consoles are unique and distinctive. (For example, it's hard to confuse the Switch with the Wii U or Gamecube, etc.)
    In other words, they should either be naming their consoles sequentially or with distinct names, but not so close in naming or using arbitrary subtitles (One? X? S? 360?) that would confuse people. Imagine how hard it would be for a parent or grandparent not even into gaming trying to get an "Xbox" for their kid as a gift or something.

    • @ekram1v135
      @ekram1v135 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Idk about you but you must be 93 years old to find it hard to learn xbox console names, they’re all different enough from each other for a bird to differentiate them.
      And the reason xbox didn’t name it’s second console (xbox 360) xbox 2, it’s because thier competitor was playstation 3, so it would make xbox look a generation behind, besides it would be 10 times more hard to track thier names.

    • @ekram1v135

      I generally disagree, except (xbox one) all thier console names were good and unique.

    • @TayoEXE
      @TayoEXE 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @ekram1v135 I'm saying it's not intuitive at all. Looking into it, Xbox has both Xbox One X and S and also an Xbox Series X and S, both of which are not intuitive for the average consumer in differentiating their capabilities and generation. X is apparently more like a Pro while S is more like a Lite version, but S has indicated upgrades on iPhones for example.
      You are looking at
      Xbox One
      Xbox One S
      Xbox One X
      Xbox Series S
      Xbox Series X
      Not only is that redundancy, but aside from the Wii U, Nintendo's strategy was more distinct names, and then usually Lite, Pro, New (clearer if something is newer/upgraded). Even Playstation maintains a clear distinction between generations and incremental family upgrades or cheaper models with Slim and Pro.
      Xbox on the other hand has a lot less intuitive and redundant names, even less consistent. There is a base Xbox One model, but no base Xbox Series model, and they both end with a letter.
      I've seen stories of Parent is asked to get an Xbox for Christmas, and they see on marketplace someone selling the "Xbox X" or "Xbox Series S." Not only unaware of the latest generation but the seller also may have confusing wording. Is Xbox X referring to One X or Series X? Is S better than X? Are the ones that end in X in the same generation? Unless you subscribe to the Xbox ecosystem, these are far less clear and intuitive naming schemes.

I know that sounds crazy, but please hear me out. If Xbox consoles aren't being sold anymore, then all we'll have left are Sony and Nintendo, which is an incredibly small pool of console manufacturers. And if SEGA were to make another console during Microsoft's end days, we would have steady competition between three companies like normal. And the best part is that SEGA has the IP's to back up potential console sales. I'm not saying they have to beat Nintendo or Sony. I'm just saying that competition in the console market is much better for the industry (as long as SEGA keeps their games exclusive to their own console).

The house is on fire and instead of looking at how to put it out, they're just finding ways to ignore the problem and blame others for it, which does not help. The fact any low level employee would be fired for one slip up, but these dumbfucks can make countless mistakes and still be safe, is just insanely unfair. 😅 Microsoft rarely, if ever, is original. Once the competition drains all originality out of a market, Microsoft has nothing to copy/mimick and therefore nothing to offer the consumer. No games. 😢

    I work at a videogame store (I can’t say the name), but yeah Xbox is literally going down so hard, that me and my coworkers get the feeling it will eventually disappear or something like how sega is where they simply distribute games- which is still not that great-

    What would be a success for a indie Dev would not be for someone like Microsoft. Microsoft needs their games to make so much money they simply can't reach that kind of money in most cases. Indie games is definitely where it's at.

    "Communication seems to be a recurring problem at Xbox". Communication is a problem throughout the entire tech industry. Every tech company operates like this, not just Xbox and not even just video games. Anyone who's worked at a large tech company can tell you this. Management always withholds even seemingly benign information from their subordinates until the absolute last moment. It's insane and leads to an absolute load of problems, but you can't tell them that.

Then my brother got me an xbox series S for my birthday and im not selling it. I understand if some people have a few choice words for me in this comment. All I'll be saying in my mind when see or hear this it's what problem. I'm just a background character and on no one side aside from hoping things get better for the players. But for now just leave me out of the fire and have a good day and goodbye.

      I certainly hope you don't get any flak. It's certainly not your fault for preferring Xbox, having an established library, getting a lot of value out of Game Pass, or any other reason. The issues I have are squarely with how the company is being run, not with the users of the product itself.

    I pretty much think that the 3 main console's companies already fallen in grace since this current gen (no idea the number at this point so let say: Switch/PS5/XSX) with a point of no recover.
    Microsoft just buy companies for hurt the competition instead of make a proper future investment or profit idea for their products, Sony only cares in make mainstream games adding any kind of "personal messages" which no one care, just cause dystopia non-sense and also are quite hypocrite from their part and Nintendo..., well..., they are still making games sure but like any other company of nowdays their monetization system became horrendous like anyone and the quality of their products falled giantly.
    But in the end not everything is bad I think, PC gaming still looks fine (in my opinion) and there are small companies that want to enter the console's industry with niche consoles but with good ideas behind, like that Evercade console.

    Definitions of success.
    Here's what that means, a game can be successful on gamepass but that doesn't matter because gamepass games don't earn much money.
    So these expensive game won't earn any meaningful monetary return.
    I despise gamepass, we're starting to see the future of what it'll get us. And it's not good.
