Fried the stock ESC + Receiver
Decided to build it from other TH-camr recommendations and push it through some speed runs!
I've added the following:
Racestar 2845 3900 kV motor
80 Amp Hobby Wing Airplane ESC
Dumbo RC Tx + Rx
Oil Filled Shocks
Custom wheels for wheelie bar
Meilan GPS meter
Batteries I used in the video:
- Stock 2S 1000 mAh Lipo
- 3S 1500 mAh Lipo
- 4S 1300 mAh Lipo

That's a sick combo . I have the same one on the stock brushless motor . Running a fpv along with a fan for the motor . Running on 3's and i love the Getty up she has . Now I would like to try the Racestar 3900 on a 1:12 scale hosim.

Question How will u manage the weight . Will you be able to keep the front end down?, and if so what will you use for the down Force

@@Titomjay that definitely is a major problem so I will double up the suspension in the back so it's much harder for the car to lift off
I will also be using the battery positioned towards the front of the vehicle so it doesn't have the weight towards the back

I have 37mph on 2s with traxxas tires with 4400kv and cnhl crazy though but the spur gear was striped within 7days so upgrade it to steel and it is holding up perfectly

In my new setup that I'm working on, the ESC is much better, I'm going to be running bigger batteries and I'm going to be positioning the batteries up front for stability

I'm about to test my fast 3s 60mph Q901 again tomorrow with a plastic spur this time for the first time, but just lyk bro I made another fast Q901 more for off road just uploaded come take a look

It has 3900 KV motor, will be running up to 4S with your upgraded gearing
And this time, I will have better balance, and it should be faster than what I got last time which was 57ish on the Q901

Yes it does but after extensive use, it can cause some issues

So did you have to do any kind of fabrication or did everything fit fine and also how was the transition with the new receiver transmitter if you could or have time to walk me through it still somewhat new and just can’t seem to stop wanting to make this rc better ... feels more rewarding than just buying badass out of the box
Just bought some proline trenchers and the grip is insane I’m just worried about the stock esc on 3s with them they are pretty heavy
@@redcopperpan630 hey, I did not make any custom changes whatsoever, it was all plug and play as the motor fit directly in.
The stock ESC got this truck came with housed the receiver as well in the same compartment. Once I got rid of that ESC and it added the airplane ESC, I needed a new receiver and transmitter combo which I used above.
Your three motor leads hook up with your ESC, and the three pin connector hook up with your new receiver. Once you plug your battery, set up is extremely easy.
The stock ESC totally can handle a 3s battery, just make sure do not test it with 4S, don't ask me how I know LOL
Bought this & did the mods…it’s overpowered on the 3s is is hard to drive even on low mode..
I totally understand you, but with the proper placement of the battery, and the addition of shocks, better transmitter and receiver, you would have a much better experience overall

@@goobles64 most certainly would get a 3S battery, and I also do suggest getting a long range, transmitter and receiver, and the shocks to begin with

Whats up brother, they are definitely two different cars.
The HBX has phenomenal grip and acceleration while the Xinlehong has amazing handing and top speed. I would pick the Xinlehong and get grippier tires 💪🏻

Hello i have the same setup car sg1602 1/16, bu i use 80A esc for cars. i have question, can u reverse with plane ESC?
If yes, how to doo to work it.
I never try 4S battery now, but i will probably try it too. i have on rear wheels 2+2 oil filled shocks and in front only one each wheel.

i blowed the stock one up because i overheated with big tires it goes 53kmh on 2s lipo around 33mph

You absolutely do not need any programming card but it can be helpful. They already came connected for me so I simply switched it on, you can easily find the instructions online my man!

You may have fried the ESC, but that's a guess since its a common problem. The stock ESC should be able to take 3S easily so not sure why that would happen!

You are absolutely correct, it does not really allowed to go backwards, I have it trimmed that it can go forward and actually brake
Is the esc and reciever built in together on the stock one you had and also what size battery fried the esc.
You need tu upgrade gears bro so it could be more fast my 2s goes 40 and my 3 s goes 60 mph

The one I have is a 3900 KV, I definitely recommend staying under that limit!
Regarding the esc, you can totally go ahead and locate a race star one from banggood and double check the load the motor takes to get your correct ESC

@@vaggost.3933 So I'm currently working on my q903 and that is exactly what I did I removed a lot of the components to make sure that my new ESC can fit
Also keep in mind you definitely do need a new receiver and transmitter with the new ese as well

You're just using 3s, you can go ahead and actually use a standard esc that comes with it but don't run 4 s

i have the Q901 and used 3s for a couple runs, but now i cant connect the remote to the car anymore it just beeps red for some reason
I think your esc is burnt up, i just faced the same issue on 3s. The stock esc only supports 2s but for some people it works fine on 3s as well. My car esc lasted couple weeks on 3s. You have to upgrade esc if you want to use 3s continuously. Or you can put new esc and use it with 2s (no problem). Just don't use 3s too often then.

You put a 3s on the stock esc receiver? And it worked for a cpl runs?
@@tylertodd3892 to run on 3s for longterm, you need to upgrade the esc, but there are some other things you need to upgarde along with esc, like receiver and transmitter. I am still trying to find a perfect combo for esc and transmitter which will work on 3s. I'll let you know once i am done with my research.
Are usb lipo chargers any use?
I'd stay away from those as that could prolong charging times and reduce the life of the battery due to unbalanced charging.
I highly recommend getting an actual LIPO charger for the batteries!

they always lie about the speed, the two i got the judge says 46 km, more like 25 km.s. the 901 says 63, more like 35 wow lol. should have spent the extra money on a car that don' t lie lol.
