@@SirenoftheVoid it was always Celes theme that got me, even to this very day when it occasionally pops up on my gaming tunes playlist. An while I dig One Winged Angel, nothing can capture a final boss fight like Dancing Mad can. Hands down one of my favorite tunes.
The theme from the Ice Country in Secret of Mana is amazing. It fits the snowy landscape so well. I couldn't tell you how many hours I've spent going back and forth from the village to the castle killing the same wolves over and over again just to level up. You don't even notice the time you're spending. It's almost therapeutic . Out of every RPG I've ever played its definitely my favorite place to grind.
Raz Rentals i got to agree with you there, this and Lufia 2 had stellar soundtracks. Chrono trigger is up there but i Just feel so much with that SoM and lufia 2 tracks. oh... Sweet nostalgia

Thought about looking up your original “Best SNES music” but then a FF 4 track kicked in. My sons getting ready for his 1st day of his sophomore year today & we’re listening to this.
More thoughts: - Red Wings! Favourite track from FFIV - Chrono Trigger just has a good soundtrack, period. I don't think there's a track I dislike in the entire OST. - "A Wish" is a piece I do like from Secret of Mana. - I think other than the Ridley/Draygon/escape theme, this is my favourite track from Super Metroid; there's a reason it got reused in Metroid Prime 2. - While there are only three themes I dislike from Super Castlevania IV (Stage 3-3 sounded too hippyish for the game, Stage 7 was weak, and the rehash of Vampire Killer in Stage A failed miserably), I think there are better themes from that game than the Torture Chamber. Still good, though. - I seem to remember my mom really liking "Life in the Mines" :-p It certainly is good, although there were other OST tracks I preferred. - Skyblazer... an underrated gem all around. - I liked all three stage themes from Level 1, particularly 1-3. - Alan and Cerl... THE FEELS. - Stage 3 from Contra 3 is called "Neo Kobe Steel Factory." And it is awesome, even more so than most of this game's tracks, which are all awesome, IMO. :-D - Mega Man X had amazing music in general. - Dancing Mad... epic.
Wow. That Donkey Kong Country track is simply amazing. Tears of nostalgia here. It was upon DKC's release that my Genesis fanboy friends finally bowed and worshiped the SNES's audio prowess.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time's "Sewer Surfin'" certainly is a prime example on how to use the famous Orchestra Hit sound effect to its maximum effect :)
SNESDRUNK u made my night i miss spark mandrill's stage music so much from megamanx megamanx is one of those games that my friends would let me borrow but never buy it from them along with castlevania:dracula X but it's ok bc i own the first castlevania game now that i ever played CASTLEVANIA:BLOODLINES for sega genesis and yes it is a exclusive game to the genesis and yes i has some very loud screeching noise in the games music but the boss battles are epic.
I appreciate that you played the long version of the opera song, but man, that's not good listening like the rest. Otherwise fantastic group of songs, I'm glad you put that last so I can skip it in the future and not miss anything. Very smart placement. By the time I was nearly 20 minutes into that once impressive song I wanted to rip my ears off. Secret of mana song is a pure bliss and takes me back 25 years.

Dancing Mad blew my MIND as a kid. Really the whole end battle and credits were unlike anything I had ever seen in a game.

It is amazing yes but the track that gets me emotional is Terra's Theme.
2nd half of the track is even deadly better. Just pure gothic pipe organ music!
