Most desktop computers do not have wifi adapters. You can use your phone as a wifi adapter to connect to the wifi network temporarily. By connecting your phone to the desktop pc using a USB cable and enabling USB tethering on your phone you will be able to share the internet to your desktop pc that does not have wifi capability.

Hey quick question I have an iPhone and I’m planning on building a new pc with a wifi card on the way since Ethernet is not an option for me. Can I hotspot my cellular data to my pc from my iPhone? (Since I don’t have android)
And another question is will windows detect my wifi card if I plug it in? I tent to hotspot to my pc since I fear that windows won’t detect my wifi card so I can install its drivers.

Thanks you so much, I had a PC that only had a wifi USB adapter and after a factory reset I lost the update disc for it and now finding this just awesome. PC you now what funny, how some things never change that we used to us dial up connections from the phone line to us the internet and now hitch the wifi to you phone and us a micro to USB or type c to USB and put it to you computer and get the WiFi like that it like the 90 but more modern.

@Arpit Agarwal Did you take a close look at the video? If you have wifi on your phone but don't have wifi on your PC you can just connect your phone and turn on the tethering option. If that doesn't work, your phone is probably in file sharing mode instead of USB tethering mode, so make sure you look for USB options in your phone (most likely in your notification scroll down at the very bottom) and turn tethering option on.

I recently got myself a budget PC and the only wifi module i had is a 2,4GHz model. The internet is so slow and i dont want to spend extra money to get another wifi module with 5GHz support.

I can’t believe how stupid I am, last December I purchased a gaming pc and until last month I use a wireless adapter that came with my pc to connect to wifi. But last month I broke it, it was a busy time because of Christmas so I didn’t care about using my cruddy laptop but then I became PC sick.
