    Outstanding video and information. You were the only person (who I could find) that recommended the USB wifi adapter as an easy remedy to my pc tower that had no wifi. ( I usually use my laptops only because of this). Others had me trying to install a wifi adapter directly into my tower with mostly difficult instructions. No one ever told us how to get the other side of the power cable from the installed adapter to the usb port. So blew off that idea when I saw you video. Thanks for the excellent options. cr from Mich and Fla.

    Another tip, and what I did is if you have Satellite TV, you have a TV setup box, and then smaller boxes at each TV. Those smaller boxes are using a WiFi connection to bring TV from the main unit.. Well the TV box in my mancave I stuck an ethernet cable into it, and connected a separate router. I was then able to use that router to connect all of my devices via Ethernet. The Satellite connection is pretty strong and I am regularly getting 100mb per sec speed.

    Those USB-connected wifi adaptors come in a variety of sizes, and many are much bigger with obvious antennas. Those work much better than the teeney travel adapter shown in this video. Even better, you can buy a passive USB extension cable, plug one end into your PC, plug the wifi adapter into the far end, then raise it up high for MUCH better reception! Another option is to use a "travel router" which works as a wifi client, so you can just attach it to your pc's Ethernet port.

    PC manufacturers need to get on with the times and start buiding Wi-FI enabled desktop motherboards. Just because a desktop doesn't move is no reason to not add built-in WiFi. A lot of the times, it's just not possible to get an Internet line into your room, especially if there are multiple desktops in the same home.

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on what you're doing on your computer in terms of network usage. You can very quickly burn through gigabytes of data if you have a fast mobile internet connection. You also have to keep in mind that Windows like to use data in the background for updates, though I believe you can set your connection to metered and it will lower its consumption.

    • @andygourav
      @andygourav 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible. You'll need adapter for your laptop wifi card. Newer laptops generally carry wifi + bluetooth combo card with M.2 connection. Older ones usually have mini PCIe connection and may only have wifi (no bluetooth capabilities). Find out which one is yours, then search online for M.2 to PCIe or Mini PCIe to PCIe (whichever applicable) adapter with antenna. After that connect same as mentioned in the video. More youtube videos also available for the same.

It is literally rubbish, wifi is detectable but the connection is rubbish, and bluetooth range is about accouple meters which isn't terrible. Was looking for alternatives and this video definitely helped. Thanks a lot 👍
