What I'd like to know is can I connect my phone to my wireless router and use my phone internet to supply the wireless router with whole home internet?
Yes, I've been doing this since January. Preferably, you'll need an unlocked phone for continuous tethering, because carriers put data caps on tethering, and a VPN so the carrier can't track your IP address. I purchased an unlocked phone from Best Buy for 80 bucks and the best and easiest VPN to use is VyprVpn because it's easy to download and configure on the router.I haven't been able to use an Ethernet cable, but a USB cable works just fine. The last thing you'll need is a router that allows opensource VPN client software. The router I chose is the Asus RT-AC66U because Asus routers are one of the few and cheapest that allow vpn client software configuration. The total cost for me was under $300 for everything, but I was able to get rid of my Spectrum internet bill that was $70/month and I'm able to tether around 80 gigabytes of data from my phone per month doing this set up. I googled "how to tether smartphone to router" and found out how to set everything up perfectly. I wish you the best of luck and hope you're able to get rid of a monthly bill just like me.😀😀😀
what about the other way around? Just wondering if possible to share phones data USBC/RJ45 adapter? I have ab IP security camera with no wifi just RJ45t. All tested and working perfectly through a windows10 desktop. My Samsung 10 Android has hotspot and a usb-c port both tested and working great in other applications. I tried connecting the camera to my phone via USBC/RJ45 same as you. Hotspot is turned on so I have a Chromebook using my phones data plan and was hoping I could find or see the camera. When I open the hotspot setting page on my phone it sees my laptop device, but nothing else also is not reporting any device as tethered through the USBC? Maybe I need a new adapter since mine is very old.
I'm thinking a phone charging cradle for esthetics and a POE switch to charge the phone whilst in this mode. Perhaps routed through a virtual server for some Snowdenesk security.

did all that you did and got nothing here in 10/5/2022 tried in my router and wireless tmobile modem. nothing not even a light on the ethernet adapter.
Two possible reasons: 1. You have some diagnostic app or process you need to perform on the wired network with your phone (ie. Port scan, angry IP, Fing). 2. You’re trapped working in a location where you have neither access to Wifi or cellular. This used to happen to me a lot when I was working in data centers. But if I hunted around enough I could sometimes find a open network that would let me plug in and get raw internet access. 😁
There was a time when I would have said that a LAN is faster, hands-down. But today, especially with WIFI 6 (802.11ax), that’s answer is becoming blurry. If you have older Wifi (802.11B,A,G,N) then I would say and 100/1000Mbps LAN connection is faster. One thing about LAN (also known as wired Ethernet), is it tends to do better for large file transfers. Some IT pros also regard LAN as being more reliable. Back to your original question about raw speed difference? Comparing a 1 gig Ethernet wired connection against a 802.11n, I would guess than LAN connection is 2x as fast.
TBH, all I did was plug it in, put the phone in Airplane mode, and it just worked. I have seen a few ppl comments about needing “OTP”. Not sure if that’s an app or a driver.

and how do we get power at the same time?
wireless charger
you might be able to plug a usb hub into the phone, with the adapter in one port and the charger in the other. I'm not sure if this will work but that will at least allow both to be plugged into the phone at the same time.
yeah me too i spent 3 days tofinally force the kali nethunter to be installed, i used the generic kalifs full as my phone not in the list , phone rooted with magisk and bysybox present of course, but no success in activating external usb wifi as the device's wifi is dead, it was my unique solution but no success
Aww bummer 😑
It works with android i need to connect my game directly to router wifi cant handle the lag?
This would be very useful in very, very few circumstances, lol
Agreed. 😄
Will a wifi usb work? My phone wifi is broken
It might? Great question and I do not know. One of the things I would be wondering is if the phone would have the software to support it.
Share the product information from where we can get it...?
Nice, can you do it reverse. Use mobile internet and tether the router so that, router will act as hotspot using my mobile internet.
Common comment/ question. Don’t know yet.
can we connect pendrive to router with this and use as NAS.
Yes, there are routers with USB ports for just that reason. 😊
@@NetworkAdvisorthanks 4 the reply. my router doesn't have an usb port. can i connect my pendrive to router's lan port using connector and use it as NAS?
Thanks you for the idea. Can this also work on CCTV?
