What I like about the Halloween franchise that is unique among horror/slasher films is that with all the retcons it's become a choose your own adventure series
I like that Michael Myers and Laurie are brother and sister. That’s part of what hooked me on the franchise when I first saw it. I don’t care what John Carpenter or anyone else says. I also don’t see how the two not being siblings makes the newest three movies any better. In fact I think those ones would make more sense if they were siblings
Halloween 2 1981 has garnered such a positive reception recently, almost every review is positive however Rotten Tomatoes just doesn't add them, for what reason
Rotten Tomatoes is basically the Wikipedia of movie reviews. You just go there to see what number a movie has and what you can gain from it is very surface level in terms of critical insight.

I had no idea that Halloween 2 was even hated until the internet came along! I always enjoyed it, and felt that it was a great companion to the first Halloween. It's darker, meaner, and even a bit sleazier. It may not be as lean and focused as the first, but it's still a great movie. Probably still my second favorite Halloween movie, tied with Halloween 4 and Halloween 2018.
I love part 3. As a child It felt more adult and longer version of the ep of goosebump when Carly gets the mask stuck on her face. The only moves in the franchise I hate are part 6, RZ part 2, and Halloween ends
In regards to Jamie aging 2 years in just one year, it is due to Danielle Harris being 11 years old when filming Halloween 5. She had grown too much to look like she was 8, so they made her 9.
This was the first video that I saw on this channel. Was an instant fan. And, it turned out to be a bit of a blessing, because a few days after this video came out, both my parents and myself tested positive for COVID. Without exaggeration, I can say that this channel, and eventually the main JoBlo channel, helped get me through my family and me being sick and quarantined. Watching all of the videos that you had released at that point gave me entertainment, some laughs, and a much needed distraction. And, because of this, your guys' channel will always be a bit special for me. I still keep up with your new vids every day. I love part 3 and would have loved an anthology set. I also love part 4 though. I could go either way personally. I think part 3 is so underrated though. I'd love a remake just called Season of the Witch.
I actually thought Halloween 3 was pretty cool. In My Opinion what hurt it was it followed parts 1 and 2. I think a different name would have really helped it.
True. And the timeline with Pcut of H6 is much better storywise imo. The Tcut doesn't even have a plot, really. It's so inconsistend in that Cut, it doesn't feel like a movie at all.
Honestly I feel like if they worked in that the mask Michael wore was a clover ☘️ mask, it would be a cool way to wrap up the series. They had masks from Halloween 3 in Halloween 2018 and Ends.
I've long thought the same. It would've been great if we had gotten a different halloween based story every year or 2 years or whatever. 3 is such an enjoyable movie, and it's a strength that it is so different to what came before.
Every day my 3 year old ask how many more days until Halloween I can't help, but do the Silver Shamrock song! I saw it the other night for the first time in years, and have no clue how I forgot that tune existed.
Me too. H5 is just a guilty pleasure to watch and it comes so much closer to the OG in the ways the character dynamics are, than any other halloween movie. It always was Michael stalking his victims and Loomis following him to stop him. People just hate on the movie, because they killed of Rachel and had Tina in the movie and because Michael's mask and the Myers' house look different. And the final act is just an awesome watch with the laindry shute scene and Loomis beating Michael with 2×4 wood. Also I love H6 Pcut as well. So an underrated gem. H5 is my 5th favorite Halloween movie and H6 Pcut my favorite. H4 is my second favorite. And unpopular opinion: the COT-timeline (H1978, H2 1981, H4-H6 Pcut) is the best and most consistend Halloween timeline.

I agree. It even makes sense. And H20 was originally written as a sequel to H6: The Curse of Michael Myers (Pcut). That's why we have those references and parallels between the OG timeline and H20. They only decided to let it be it's own timeline just before filming and cut out the direct references (there was supposed to be a scene in which Laurie tells her son about his sister Jamie). And imo them seperating it from the OG/COT timeline didn't do that movie any good. There are so many plotholes, that make sense with Michael being the cursed supernatural killer but not with him just being some human psycho killer, like H20 made him to be.
Like Loomis said its his mark. They just never mentioned it before lol. Maybe it was part of reason why Loomis figured Michael was evil. Maybe he did research on it like tommy or recognized it. Seems like knows about the history of Sakhalin especially in second one lol.
The power of the runes reminds me of the devils traps they use in supernatural which are used in real life as key of Solomon lol. Which traps demons and evil spirits which is Michael lol. Actually lots of descriptions of Michael matches demons in supernatural black eyes can survive getting shot and falling off buildings lol. He don't act like them but more like in paranormal activity when the sisters are possessed they stand in place for hours walk around standing still looking out windows sitting in chair disappearing lol
I have no issue with the Thorne cult plotline, I dont mind if Michael is an instrument of a cult or he is just free agent of evil. I would have welcomed a "Son of Michael Myers" sequel. I prefer the Producer's Cut of H6. However I do not like the mistreatment of the Jamie Lloyd character, I get that it is a horror series and characters will be bumped off, whether they are main or supporting characters. I just prefer the first 6 films over what came after them. I'm not down with them turning Michael Myers into Jason or ditching the Halloween franchise's signature suspense for more graphic gore. Just my humble opinion. 🎃🔪

Then for a sequel, tell another story based on the Halloween premise based on the anthology idea, then somewhere later down the line get back to Michael Myers. I know, to little to late.

Well, here we go. (1) The best is HALLOWEEN I , HALLOWEEN II , HALLOWEEN IV , HALLOWEEN V , and HALLOWEEN VI PC . It has a perfect start. It continues into the tragic end with Laurie's offscreen death. (Possibly along with her husband Jimmy?) And then the torch being passed to Rachel, Jamie, then Lindsey, and then the emotionally scarred Tommy. He has to join forces with the dying Dr. Loomis. And then they realize that Michael is only a piece of the evil they are facing. (2) ROB ZOMBIE is almost perfect IF we use the ALTERNATE ending on the DVD and STOP there and forget the utterly stupid 2nd film. ✝ (3) HALLOWEEN III is fine. We just need to accept that it has nothing to do with Michael. 🎃 (4) HALLOWEEN 1978 🌋, HALLOWEEN 2018 🌋, HALLOWEEN KILLS 🌋, and HALLOWEEN ENDS 🌋 is a mixed bag. I starts it off well. But going from 1978 to 2018 has just too long of a time gap. And of course we have an excess of girl power and guy bashing in 2018. To be sure, H KILLS offers us a significant rebound where the guy bashing takes a nap. I liked the cast reunion with Tommy, Lindsey, Marion, and the redeemed Lonnie. And I loved "It's a Hunter's Moon." And I didn't even have a problem with Corey picking up the torch. But it was not handled as well as it could have been. And of course Laurie has to suddenly turn Corey to stay the "you know what" away from her daughter, after having encouraged her to go out with him. The ending was JUST TOO LYNCH MOBBISH! But just remember, it could have been worse. A LOT WORSE! (5) HALLOWEEN I 😠, HALLOWEEN II 😠, HALLOWEEN H2O 😠. Alright. I won't even mention the idiotic end to this timeline that everyone hates and usually ignores. But H2O just doesn't work. Ok. The FIRST HALF is great. But then subtle and quite horror gives way to the annoying theme of girl power. And the ending is JUST TOO ABRUPT!
I won't click dislike, because I love this channel and appreciate your hard work. However, I stopped at 5:33 because the use of the word "iconic" is overly distracting. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
I think John Carpenter hates Halloween 2 because it essentially ended his anthology idea. Greedy producers wanted to make money and not tell great stories. Season of the witch was one sequel to late imo. Actually crazy because I think many horror fans agree Halloween 2 is an incredible movie. Rick Rosenthal directed terrific sequel. A reluctant John Carpenter made that into an absolute cult classic. That should show you how incredible of a filmmaker/write he is. Even the projects he hates are masterpieces.
John Carpenter was wrong...especially when he tried to do Halloween 3 Season of the Witch....people loved Michael Myers and the original timeline....he should of kept going with part 4 and 5 with Mustafa Akkad...they could of ended the franchise with dignity....cuz David Gordon Green destroyed Michael Myers legacy with Halloween Kills and Ends....we didn't want a Karen daughter we wanted a Jamie Lloyd and Laurie to be related to Michael....

H:Resurrection really isnt that bad, after watching Halloween ends (By Far Worst In The Franchise Even Below H:3 SOTW, Rob Zombies H:2 & H:Resurrection) David gordon green really made me appreciate Resurrection a hell of a lot more than i used to

@@2012banksnb What's wrong with you? I understand people not liking H4's and H5's masks, but not H6's. H6's mask is the best since the OG. Michael looks scary in h6 Pcut. I don't know what they did in the reshoots for the Tcut, but Michael looks strange and the mask looks to bluish. They made their own model, while using the OG mask as a template and it worked. And the story and characters of the Pcut are awesome.

Busta could be in movie HR was good but his character was a bit off then he's ok nut what really did it was making fun of Michael and kicking his butt lol. Don't do that lol. I totally disagree. No one ever tops Pleaense's Dr. Loomis or Harris' Jamie Lloyd. Season of the Witch is a good movie on it's own, but not a good HALLOWEEN-movie.

(5) HALLOWEEN I 😠, HALLOWEEN II 😠, HALLOWEEN H2O 😠. Alright. I won't even mention the idiotic end to this timeline that everyone hates and usually ignores. But H2O just doesn't work. Ok. The FIRST HALF is great. But then subtle and quite horror gives way to the annoying theme of girl power. And the ending is JUST TOO ABRUPT!
I won't click dislike, because I love this channel and appreciate your hard work. However, I stopped at 5:33 because the use of the word "iconic" is overly distracting. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

I’m actually a fan of the Jamie Loydd trilogy.
I think John Carpenter hates Halloween 2 because it essentially ended his anthology idea. Greedy producers wanted to make money and not tell great stories. Season of the witch was one sequel to late imo.
Actually crazy because I think many horror fans agree Halloween 2 is an incredible movie. Rick Rosenthal directed terrific sequel. A reluctant John Carpenter made that into an absolute cult classic. That should show you how incredible of a filmmaker/write he is. Even the projects he hates are masterpieces.
John Carpenter was wrong...especially when he tried to do Halloween 3 Season of the Witch....people loved Michael Myers and the original timeline....he should of kept going with part 4 and 5 with Mustafa Akkad...they could of ended the franchise with dignity....cuz David Gordon Green destroyed Michael Myers legacy with Halloween Kills and Ends....we didn't want a Karen daughter we wanted a Jamie Lloyd and Laurie to be related to Michael....

They should've connected the "Cult of Thorn" to the cult in Halloween 3.

Oh this us like a compilation of your previous videos cause you did ones going that each movies lol. Now they all together lol. They could have did both. Michael ones and anthology ones. Just depends on story and hoe they shot it. The story is interesting in three and good scenes and highlights but when watching the movie it seems longer lol. I can see if they didn't do family angle they could do all these like this cause he was obsessed with Laurie in original even if they weren't related she died. He'd be sad but hear she has a daughter so he goes after her cause she's like a mini Laurie lol six be the one that have some changes if not at least one thing lol.

@@2012banksnb What's wrong with you? I understand people not liking H4's and H5's masks, but not H6's. H6's mask is the best since the OG. Michael looks scary in h6 Pcut. I don't know what they did in the reshoots for the Tcut, but Michael looks strange and the mask looks to bluish.
They made their own model, while using the OG mask as a template and it worked.
And the story and characters of the Pcut are awesome.
