Oh My Gosh. That poor girl. She looks petrified the entire way through. Terrible haircut aside, why was he being so rough with her hair? He pulled and tugged it and you can tell it was hurting her scalp.

Muslimah I have donated my hair and that was the exact same hair style I was given. In fact it was a man, my uncle, who cut my hair. I don't think he was being ruff with her. I didn't know what style of hair I wanted and he gave me something he thought would look good. When you have had shirt hair it's experimental. That was a long time ago. Now I have I a style that looks good on me, I love and it's easy to maintain.

Short haircut doesn't have to be ugly. No offense to the girl, but her hair became so much worse because of this 'cut'.

nope. Went home, called my friend, checked on her. Whenever her hair grew out, John gave her her first haircut and he gave me a trim... which was the first time anyone touched my hair after this cut ✨

Not true. First off there wasnt much he could to cutting it that short. Secondly her hair is clearly naturally straight. That hair was still slightly damp at the end of the video and clearly wasnt heat styled as yet which means its naturally not a horrible mess.
All women should sue this clumsy careless man. Shame on those who made/make him famous.

It goes to show how many idiots get carried away by Hype, Fame, Media promotion and Trends. Ive come across super talented stylists that work in small salons and get paid minimum wage. while some of these super famous, media-promoted stylists shouldnt even be doing this job!

I’m seeing them now and they’re making me laugh. I actually liked the cut and I LOVED that I could bring awareness to all that was involved in creating wigs for cancer patients (the process! The costs!). Commenters here are much more upset about a cut that quickly grew out than I ever was - I’ve donated my hair several times since!

I LOVED it! every time I get my hair cut, I tell the stylist how once upon a time John Barrett cut 20" of my hair so that I could donate not one but TWO healthy ponytails for a wig. A single wig requires like 10 ponytails, which still is an absolutely crazy thing to think about.

And a natural-looking wig can cost over $1.5k! let's talk about that instead. my hair grew back. Many women are losing their hair due to life-saving treatment, so let's focus on helping them.

I understand that she was doing this for charity, but her hair should have been cut better than a charity cut!!! Thank you Elle for bringing awareness to cancer and the ability to donate hair, but this end cut was horrible. That cut does not work for a working women and it is sad that she had to walk away with that cut.
as a working woman who actually received the cut, it worked just fine for me. I was happy with it and was even happier to raise awareness about how challenging it is for female cancer patients to access affordable wigs.
I would not want this guy anywhere near my hair.

The front of the haircut looks good, it's the back I can't learn to like. I once pulled the same stunt when I cut my hair at 7 years old.
every time I get a haircut, I go home and cry.

So, it seems like I'm the only one that actually likes the haircut. * shrugs*
However, she did not like it-let this be a lesson to all: no matter how much you care about the cause,don't donate your hair if you absolutely adore it, it's part of your style and it took you a long time getting it to that length,especially when most donations don't even get to cancer patients or people with alopecia or whatever you were told it's happening. There's no need to make yourself miserable when there are other ways to help.
Also, is there a reason for the aggressive pulling or does he just like to scrunch hair between his fingers? Does it make him feel professional or what? I hate when hairdressers play with your hair just because,without actually doing something,like putting product in or whatever. 😒
MediocreHaddie I really like it, too! It is NOT a bad cut. Some may not like it, but the cut is done well, and I think it looks super neat!
I’ve donated my hair 3 or 4 times since then. Don’t make assumptions from videos filmed at 7am! 🤣

I once had my haircut in a famous salon and they cut my hair in a really short bob. I really cried a lot after and since then I had trust issues with high end salons.

you look good in your new bob i really like seeing a person donating hair to charity that makes wigs for people that can not grow hair that is giving of yourself in the closest most personal way so when things are not going right just thunk about the woman or child that is wearing your hair you so generously donated that should put a smile on your face ln fact i have a group of videos with people giving hair donations i am a cancer survivor and that is my way of giving back cancer free for 5 years ed

pssst: it grew back. and then I donated it again. and then it grew back. and I donated it again. and then it grew back... and I donated it again. what's a true shame is that insurance doesn't cover the cost of wigs for cancer patients - cancer patients lose their hair due to life-saving treatment. that loss is traumatizing. but we can help by making wigs more accessible.

She is so beautiful and I feel bad for her, she really looked unhappy. She is so kind and sweet but I feel bad for her because it legit looked like she was about to cry. She came in with beautiful long wavy hair but left with greasy (because of all that damn oil he added) and badly cut hair.

Omg!!!! What did he do to her hair it looks horrendous as if a child has cut off her hair he didn't even style or cut it properly!! It's good of her to donate her gorgeous hair too charity but what's the thanks she gets a terrible haircut!! Poor girl she was trying so hard not to cry but luckily her hair will grow back!!
