- In this Rocket League tutorial, I teach you how to do the Musty Flick. I discuss where to place the ball on your car and the ideal scenarios to go for a Musty Flick as well as the physics involved in this mechanic I found.

@iModzy it might not be one of the harder mechanics in the game but its definitely not easy its common to see these triple flip resets and forget that people cant even ariel constantly. It's like how in fighting games you see these crazy combos but most people cant even dp consistently.

Hey musty, i know u probably get this alot, but u are my entire inspiration for freestyling in rocket league...i admire that u seek new mechanics and try things most people wouldnt think. Another thing, you can do it when you loose your control of the normal flick and it's too far in front of your car

I've been doing this move for a long time, and I can do it perfectly but I haven't used it for a flick. I usually use it to get back to net fast or for kickoffs now I'ma use it for flicks. Nice video

Funny enough. I didn’t know what a must flick was when I saw the training. I needed up teaching myself how to dribble then power flick. Then I looked up what it was, and I’m amazed haha!

the thing that a lot of people are missing while learning this is that you have to start pulling your nose down as you jump so the ball doesn't fly forward and/or up

I actually started doing this since I started rocket league for trolling opponents that had an open goal. I never knew it was an actual mechanic pros used. I only did it on the ground though, not in the air.

Musty THANK YOU, you explained it really well. I went into training got the musty flick Down. I went into a 1v1 game and the first musty flick I did was perfect straight over his car and into the goal. After I scored again he rage quit.

i normally do kinda similiar, i half flip backwards (not actual half flip) then dash backwards, going forwards the whole time
The back of my car keeps just pushing the ball too far forward, im hitting this like 1/20 times, getting better though!

Im a gold who was in a musty training and I didn’t know how to go forward I always stayed in the same position but now when u said it needs to be above 90 I learned to do it now I’m a op gold
been trying this for a few mins but apparently its easy to get hte car to do it its another thing to dribble the ball and do it.. for me either the ball goes FLYING way up in the air its pointless or hte ball goes WAYYYY to forward

Another note is probably u can also use the musty flick or idiot flick to quickly recover(mostly used on walls),idk if this will help but its been a habit for me
The Optimistic Noob all kinds of flicks can be used for recovery (without the ball of course)
If u do this in reverse by tilting back then forward flip whilst accelerating if you have no boost
