@@miadmahshidi8101 It is originally from Minecraft Dungeons, where it is used quite a lot, but in 21w37a it was added to Java Edition (although unused outside of commands/data packs)
Here's the thing, I don't think we will ever know if this was legitimate, unless Mojang themselves confirms it. The thing on the list are so vague, literally just "brand colab" or "update," so would be harder to see as predictions than actually names. The only real way to confirm it is if everything lines up perfectly over several quarters, but the problem there is that, with some of those quarters being so far in the future, it's very likely things will change. Basically, this tells us nothing, unless we see one update per quarter for a prolonged period.
Imo the roadmap seems too vague and easily predictable (basically a new drop will come out next year) that it just gives off fishy vibes. Plus the "Minecraft Location Events" graphic looks like it was AI generated. The only thing that seems possible is the "Spicewood" thing considering Roger Badgerman mentioned it at some point
I’m actually kind of getting sick of all these leaks. At the start with Rodger Badgerman it was exciting because we’ve never had leaks like these before. And we didn’t really know who he was, and we still don’t. Then we just kept getting more leaks. And at that point, it really looked like Mojang were getting their social media people to leak this information under fake accounts to build hype for upcoming updates. And fair play to them, it’s a great strategy. But I find one of the most exciting parts of the Minecraft community is everyone waiting together to find out what’s next to come. That’s why I was really annoyed when the entire Pale Garden section of Minecraft Live this year was leaked. A bit of information is nice, but I don’t want to know everything. I want some little teasers, not the whole update
I think the "best" leaks are ones that measure reaction and hype to get an early review for an update so they can change course or correct or go all in. But yeah, leaks overall are a bane that kill hype
Having leaks be able to predict the next 3 years of Minecraft is such a bad sign If they release an update and it requires a lot of changes or there's a lot of complaints, unless they plan on completely reconfiguring their roadmap for every issue, these issues will be completely ignored for 3 years Planning so far ahead leaves no room for hearing the community because by the time you can respond, the issue is already extremely old
Before the nether update they confirmed they knew the updates for the next few years already. They have always known what would be coming a couple of years later.
I think NOT having a plan beyond the current year would be an even worse sign, as it would mean that Mojang had run out of ideas of what to do with Minecraft.
There's new Nintendo 'leaks' daily. Seems to be the hottest trend nowadays to get 5 minutes of fame. If this roadmap is true, which I doubt, interesting that there's a bunch of drops and no major update.
technically they don't mention drops by name, which makes me think it refers to both drops and major updates. we already know that major updates will still happen. I think most likely what will happen is that in spring, summer, autumn this year we get a drop, and in winter we get the next major update. snapshots for said update will probably start around march/april and be developed in an experimental tab while the summer and autumn drops are being worked on.
Crikey that sun in a tropical place your in is about to return to gemini. That's why you're almost closer to the summer solstice just below you or on it. Don't forget to come back in the UK so you can play in the snow! ❄️🌨️
Obviously fake leak is obvious. Ask yourself, why would this roadmap ever be made? What purpose does it serve? "Brand collaboration" this quarter. In no world would a collaboration planned for _this_ quarter be unnamed. It isnt useful for investors or managers. It is too vague to provide incentives, and far too strange a mix of exact dates and approximate timings. It isn't useful for developers. It provides no _real_ information that wasnt already known to them, and doesnt provide any serious timeline. It is _only_ useful for someone who has seen it from a leak. So it was designed to be leaked. And so, without even the slightest bit of a doubt, it was created by the "leaker".
No end screen joke? I'll attempt my own... What did the parrot say to the bat? "G'date, mate!" ...get it? Cause the bat is upside down... like Australia... so the parrot is attempting to mimic the bat... but it thinks it's an Australian bird...? haha...
@ I think one around february or march that is a medium to large update then one around November or August would be better, that way it isn’t too large but more than enough to be added up to one large update over the year
I liked the once a year format, but I can also see why they decided to nix it, because it can be a lot harder to stay on a rigid schedule and fix all the bugs that come with all these changes for one big release date, while at the same time trying to keep Bedrock running at the same pace as Java. The Nether update in particular highlighted these problems, largely because of covid of course, but I get the feeling that the quarantine just made an existing problem more obvious rather than creating a new one. So while I miss the once a year big update, this is definitely more feasible for consistent coding and debugging and responding to community input regarding each small change as the come.
We did get a surprise over the weekend. Seems that the strider was originally a creature called "the crawler". It had a very different design and I think we might see it again somehow.
spicewood? so the next one to come are some kind of deciduous forests? that's like the most autumnly forest you can see, seasons start to look more likely.
I have my doubts regarding this leak. It all looks like basic and vague information that can easily be deduced from public knowledge. We know that 2MC Lives and a handful of drops will come out throughout the year. Movies usually hit streaming/home media a couple of months after theatrical release, and we know the release date already. The only thing that might be real is Spicewood, but Rodger Badgerman already told us that keyword, and he could have been alluding to Minecraft branded scented candles or something. The logo could be real, taken from a leak that flew under the radar, or just as easily be created by this "leaker" using Badgerman's keyword and a MC-like font/design.
Minecraft Spicewood.... Sounds like the mirror opposite of VivaLaDirtLeague's Honeywood... VLDL does some spoof skits off of Minecraft. *ponders ponders poooonders*
But the "leak" leaked absolutely nothing at all. We already knew that there are multiple small updates per year and we also know that for a long time now they've been making smaller spin-off games every once in a while.
I really done like big leaks like roadmaps, it’s fun and all but I think it usually has a negative effect on the development cycle, like the huge Pokemon leak we had a few months ago, it makes them need to take a step back and act accordingly, things may be delayed, we might not get features in the way they intended because we all expect things to happen a certain way, it’s overall negative in the long run
The longer the roadmap the less set in stone things are. People are just dumb to think that deadlines will be followed so closely. This is how buggy on release happens.
I still think a horror game like Slender the Arrival in Minecraft style would be amazing. The Creaking and Warden are such horror based that they could make a very good game that manages to be E or PG that captures that element.
I'd like to see arrows that use materials other than flint for different effects. Maybe obsidian pierces one enemy, stone is slower and does less damage but more knockback, steel that acts just like a regular arrow but only stacks 16, etc.

Spoiler alert: Mojang is going to do the exact same predictable thing for the next 3 years in a row. Mediocre update, Collab, live, Mediocre Update, pointless cash-grab spin off, Mediocre Update, Collab, Live, Mediocre update…Repeat!
For Minecraft spin-off we need games that are much more similar to minecraft. Minecraft players aren’t necessarily interested in top down games, something more first person is much better. My ideas is a minecraft ultra realistic, as in a more complex, in depth and harder minecraft game similar to RLcraft or better than wolves, using the old programmer art style textures and the legacy console engine as a base (so that it’s stable). The other would be a minecraft themed soulslike, but it has to be deep in mechanics and difficult for it to leave an impact.
The entire reason they do spinoffs is so they can make unique experiences that don't really relate as much to the base game. They understand and acknowledge the community-made side of Minecraft, they won't make a parkour game or something you can mod into the game simply. But they'll always stick close to the same art style. MC Earth, Legends, and Story Mode all had really experimental ideas. Dungeons was the least experimental and so it did the best, as a Diablo-like game. It's likely that they'll just stick to making a sequel for Dungeons next time to build up a side franchise which has proven successful.
What are they trying to gain with these leaks? We know it's intentional, they call them "leaks", nothing is a leak anymore, but what does the "leaker" hope to gain here? It's not like I can update yet, it's not like I'll re-purchase the game I already own because I heard a leak that they're adding stuff, thwy won't get money out of it. In fact I really don't care about or want updates, I'm only forced to update, because if I don't play for a few months, my phone archives Minecraft app, essentially uninstalling the app but keeping my information and world files. Then when I'm ready to play again, I have to delete apps to make room and reinstall Minecraft, but if it's been updated them I have to have room for the full update. I just reinstalled Minecraft and so I have the pale garden update now (I hate the ugly gray loading screen, gross). But it's a chore and a pain in my ass to update. I can't make room for full updates, and if I uninstall and reinstall, I'll lose my world files. So the only way to update, ever, is to stop playing for so long my phone archives the app again, and then try to download the new update. I don't look forward to it, seeing the new things for the upcoming updates doesn't make me excited, it pisses me off, it's inconvenient as hell. And I mostly play with my friend on his ps4, which has no internet so it's on 1.16 and we can't update it. So seeing the updates is just frustrating and a tease. Like what are they trying to set off though? We all own the game, we can't buy it again, we aren't gonna watch their dumb movie because they're leaking updates. Like really why does anyone care? And don't tell me "come on it's a leak, it's an accident". You cannot be that gullible. Every update in the last year was "leaked" and now these future ones "leaked" only months later? It's all pretty damn conveniently keeping Minecraft in the spotlight after their movie totally flopped before it even hit the screen. We all mocked their movie and now suddenly they're "leaking" basically every project they work on?
