Very skeptical about this. That roadmap doesn’t necessarily look entirely out of place for a corporate presentation but the in person event icon seems AI generated to me - the logo is green for some reason which doesn’t strike me as something Mojang would do. Also Spicewood having a logo feels odd to me too, if it’s a code name I’d imagine they’d only make a logo for the actual game title.
The funny thing is that the two criticism could cancel each other. Usually, you don't make a logo for code names, but with AI? Why not just ask an AI to generate a logo for your corporate presentation? It takes a few minutes and probably look better than just a name. It's not like it will go public, so you won't have any player backlash or copyright issue for using AI. But you're right to be skeptical.
Mojang - maybe not, Microsoft - definetely. Microsoft is going after AI veeeeeeeery much. And well, Spicewood could be actual name. It could've different codename, or alternatively they couldn't come up with title and realised that Spicewood sounds decent.
No, I think those might be actual characters in the enchantment table font, it's difficult to tell if it's AI or just a really poor photo of a projection screen (which it also kind of looks like)
2:56 yes, this is the language of illagers from minecraft dungeons. As I understand, it says "vertical slice" which in developer slang means "the game is ready, but it doesn't have much content yet" or something like that
@kliksunjalebeshkin it basically means "every aspect of one specific feature." Like if you took a slice of minecraft, let's say a desert pyramid, that slice would include all the blocks, loot, coding, and world-generation that is necessary for that feature. Basically, it helps organize tasks that need to be completed for incoming features.
@RenaissanceWallets Probably not, vertical slice is a development term that refers to every aspect of one feature, as opposed to a horizontal slice which is the same aspects of multiple features. That might not be a great explanation so I'll give an example: a vertical slice on the spice wood trees might include the block textures, the block sounds, the generation information, the saplings, and all the code that goes into that specific tree, whereas a horizontal slice might include the texture of every sapling in the game. It's just a way of organizing information, especially when planning new features. Hope that was coherent and helpful lol!
I'm not convinced. If this is some internal document, it would have more information than just saying there will be AN event, or A drop. It would probably have some early name or at least specific artwork or icon to actually know what it's about. If it is an internal document, it's really really badly made, not sure what use it would serve.
It does say that it's just a content overview and we also don't know when this document was made so it's possible no Icons and such were made when making it
Oh what made you not convinced was it the "Vanilla game beat" which makes absolutely no sense if you think about it. Minecraft calls them drops, and why would a internal document specify vanilla? Like do mojang devs work on modded minecraft now without anyone knowing? Shit makes zero sense.
My career has been a graphic designer for media outlets (TV, Print, & Radio), documents like this would be created internally not necessary for the company workers but maybe for sales people or those working with the company who would need a timeline. Like stakeholders or other important figures. The real documents, yes, would have more information. This seems like a "sale sheet" of sorts, probably using terms the general public wouldn't know. But only time will tell.
This seems very likely fake imo, everything is super vague especially with the "spicewood" being the only like image teaser on there? So between people calling out that for looking like AI and this road map image being very vague/being something anyone could 'predict' I think it's gonna come out as fake....
Ikr like can someone explain vanilla game beat? Why would a internal document need to specify 'vanilla' considering they are all working on the "vanilla" main game. Also wtf is beat? Did they mean drop?
@@404maxnotfound Internally, the team might use different terms the general public doesn't know, probably specifically for preventing leaks. Fun fact, the symbols above the word spicewood in that logo is the galactic alphabet that is used in Minecraft dungeons. You can find it everywhere in the game most commonly thought enchanting.
Yeah but that doesn't make sense. Why would they use enchanting symbols instead of idk MINECRAFT like literally every other update where it's "Minecraft" then a subtitle. Not enchanting symbols then an update title. Also is the minecraft dugeons symbols different then the regular minecraft java edition enchanting symbols? If they are that's even weirder because why would you use minecraft dugeon symbols for an update to the main game?
That’s the thing, I don’t think it’s an update for the main game. It may genuinely be a teaser for a new spinoff. And also, the galactic alphabet used in Minecraft dungeons according to official Minecraft lore is the illager language. And the galactic alphabet used in vanilla Minecraft is enderling (beings from the end in Minecraft dungeons)language.

If this is in fact real, this looks like something they would present at like a big quarterly meeting for a department or the whole business unit. My company does similar things where they lay out plans for the next few years. So it’s like the big goals. If it is fake, then someone who has spent a lot of time in the corporate world probably made it look legit with like past update timings and stuff

Why make this weird abstraction most people in microsoft or mojang would not understand.
Exactly, like this roadmap is so damn vague with the majority of it, and the stuff that isn't is just basic info we've known for months. "Oh wow! We're getting 2 MINECRAFT LIVES this year? AND the movie is releasing on April 4th? AND there's gonna be an update in the summer? Where have we heard this before?
i mean the presentation layout looks pretty believable but there's literally 0% chance the devs would use the 'leaked Spicewood image' in their presentation =))))
Have you ever seen a document from like sega. They look like this. Informal and full of placeholder images and AI. This is not out of the ordinary because it isnt meant to be seen in the public eyes.
All of this is incredibly easy to fake. None of this is new information, and the Spicewood logo is incredibly easy to make in Blockbench with the MCtitle plugin
My idea is that numbers are gonna go up every year, like each year with first drop it goes up by one and doesn't go up later on until next year. Thats what I'd do as a huge corpororation for easier clarity. But if that happens then I'd get rid of "1.XX" updates, like the major ones (1.21, 1.22 etc) because that would tell like "hey, this update is bigger and more important than the rest" and I'm pretty sure that the spring drops won't be the biggest of them all. So I would've started from 1.XX.1 instead every year. So my prediction is that the recent snapshot is for 1.22.1 but it's just a theory! Or else they do keep it the same that summer drop/update is the major one when the number change, who knows
Yknow what would be cool? A PvE co-op game in between legends and Minecraft where we see the warrior villagers make their transition to the Illagers. You would play as the illagers fighting monsters and each mob would be a different class, like Vindicators being a melee brawler and witches being supports
All these new minecraft updates have me stalled on my world.. realizing I couldn't change my world into hardcore mode, I simply had to make a new one.. After already traveling 5000 blocks to get to an ancient city, I've decided I can't travel further than that now. Until some of these updates hit so that I don't have to travel even further than that, just to be able to experience the updates on my new hardcore world.....
It makes sense for summer to be a big drop as one of the biggest complaints was that minecraft live -> summer was too long of a wait so having the devlopers work in the background for a big update while making small changes in the winter is a smart move
Lowkey, after seeing Fortnite and how their roadmap got leaked and killed all hype for everything makes me skeptical that they want to copy them for hype
It seems real, q1 2025 has been lining up in everything -expansion: bedrock preview leaked the name of the "idaho cape" which, by its name indicates that idaho will be the next state to have a minecraft experience. -game beat: the game drop that weve had a snapshot of just now -brand collab: the bedrock sonic addon just released (although it is the third time that sonic and minecraft have had a collaboration) -minecraft live: we already knew about this
I think this "spicewood" is an update to minecraft dungeons, can someone count the letters and see if its the same count as "minecraft dungeons"? Thanks

If they did already know the title of an update why not just do the normal thing where they have "minecraft" and then below the title of the update, like every other update we have ever recieved. Why make this weird abstraction most people in microsoft or mojang would not understand.
@@404maxnotfound How would I know? I'm just saying what a vertical slice is.
convenient that the only date on there is already revealed
Exactly, like this roadmap is so damn vague with the majority of it, and the stuff that isn't is just basic info we've known for months. "Oh wow! We're getting 2 MINECRAFT LIVES this year? AND the movie is releasing on April 4th? AND there's gonna be an update in the summer? Where have we heard this before?
i mean the presentation layout looks pretty believable but there's literally 0% chance the devs would use the 'leaked Spicewood image' in their presentation =))))
Mojang has been adding new wood types every single update at this point, yet they still refuse to give us azalea wood... It's been YEARS now
The Content Overview leak looks so fake its hilarious
kinda sketch maybe not
Have you ever seen a document from like sega.
There are no cherries, yet there are cherry trees. There are apples, yet there are no apple trees
"Spicewood" as the name of a new game is _just_ strange and bizarre enough that it seems likely that Mojang would do it
WHY IS HE COLLECTING BIRCH
We are finally getting the herbs and spices trees update we have been waiting on this for years
How Mojang has 600 devs, let alone 60 with this “professionalism” is an enigma
So, I'm marking my calendar for spring, since I'll be watching minecraft live.
Spice wood sounds more like an update than a new game tbh..
If I had to say, the first or second collaboration could be with Brawl Stars, as some potential minecraft-related assets were found in the game…
We need end update!!!
Lowkey, after seeing Fortnite and how their roadmap got leaked and killed all hype for everything makes me skeptical that they want to copy them for hype
Too this day I'm still waiting for palm trees in deserts and warm beaches
It seems real, q1 2025 has been lining up in everything
-expansion: bedrock preview leaked the name of the "idaho cape" which, by its name indicates that idaho will be the next state to have a minecraft experience.
-game beat: the game drop that weve had a snapshot of just now
-brand collab: the bedrock sonic addon just released (although it is the third time that sonic and minecraft have had a collaboration)
-minecraft live: we already knew about this
i recently saw a brand collaboration in australia around the end of 2024 with minecraft milk
"Wattle into twothousand twentyfive" not twenty twentyfive. Just get it right already!
Wait… Beats? 😮 APPLE is buying Mojang or Minecraft! 😢 10:36
so dune but botanic
I think this "spicewood" is an update to minecraft dungeons, can someone count the letters and see if its the same count as "minecraft dungeons"? Thanks
Yeah this could definitely be a real leak. By the lack of details I would assume the leaker isn’t that high up if the internal “food chain” but still a cool potential leak for a new spinoff.
This kinda gave me an ick.
It was both like seeing your favorite indie project turn purely corporate and also like peeking behind the curtain of something you thought was magical but turned out to be purely mechanical
I translated the pillager runes and it reads: “vertical slice”
I think it’s supposed to read “vertical slide” but someone misspelled it and didn’t realize since it’s encrypted
A vertical slice is basically a portion of a proof of concept game for shareholders to see before they agree to fund it
Basically think of it as a step before prototype builds, in that its more about the idea than the quality since they arent getting into the public anyway
Awesome. You are always first to post these, every other popular youtuber copy from you and post it on their channel and they get more views. Sometimes I just hate the algorithm
lmao yes dude they copy from this guy

I want the Blue spruce tree
Didn't know of Spicewood trees, but I knew that cinnamon comes from the bark of a trer.
Honestly, even though it was just for April Fools 2024, I wish they would bring back the green Potato wood. IT was a nice change and a fun block to work with.
Spicewood seems like a precursor to pale oak with the spicy resin- maybe it's another legends type game
