I had a conversation with someone on a cell phone in my upstairs bedroom that my ex knew about the following week. He had to have had some kind of spyware in my bedroom or in the cell phone that I was using. (We were not a couple at the time) A police officer had the audacity to write up a letter to the courts on his behalf imploring them to get a restraining against me because I was suffering from delusions. The only thing delusional about that is having an untrained police officer that obviously doesn't know the first thing about domestic violence. Until you've been there don't be so quick to judge. When you ignore someone's repeated plees for help...because YOU think she's delusional. You may very well be leaving her in danger. Times have changed and so has the faces of domestic abuse.
The guy has been dragged on TV to prove he isn’t doing what she claims and still feels guilty and apologised... that right there is a good man trying to get by in life.

There's a TH-cam channel "Squirmy and Grubs" with a couple that is interabled. They were asked to do the show and thought it'd be great. Then they were told by people to think it over. They watched some episodes and realized it was more a circus show than something that would benefit interabled advocacy and education so they backed out. They watched the episode they were originally supposed to be part of and it was just Dr. Phil making the partner that was physically abled feel like they were a slave to the partner that was physically disabled. He made the entire episode out as if no interabled couples work despite reaching out to the TH-camrs first (which is an obvious evidence that there are interabled couples that are in healthy rewarding relationships, because that's what the entire channel is about promoting). He just ignored that premise because he wanted a dramatic show. So the TH-camrs basically said they saw firsthand that Dr. Phil's intentions aren't good and they were glad they declined. But other people will go on because it's a popular show, but they're only going to be taken advantage of. Same with actress Shelly Duvall. Dr. Phil isn't in the business of healing the mentally ill. He probably sees his show more like a freak show.
My mom had Schizophrenic / Psychotic episodes like this of having delusional beliefs. They are called Delusions of Reference - it's when you believe unrelated, everyday occurrences have special meaning to you. I truly feel bad for people like this. Hopefully she can get the help she needs.

If I had to sit beside her I would have the same concerned for my own safety look on my face as he had. I had a friend who developed schizophrenia and turned a memory of a genuine friendship (but zero more) into a fictional love affair and she started stalking me. It was painful having to deal with her via the authorities, but when someone is very sick like that they can become very irrational and stab someone, or take their own life. The don’t need hugs that reinforce the obsession, but medication and time in the ward.

I get the concern for his safety and for that I think the best thing he could have done was to be in studio in front of her because there is security and mental health experts present to try and get her out of this delusion. If he had talked or met her elsewhere outside of this, that would likely have had more catastrophic consequences than this. I had a similar situation in college and got called into my dean’s office and confronted with a complaint I was stalking this girl in one of my classes. I had no clue who she was and the dean quickly realized he had a Kookoo-for-Coco Puffs mental case on his hands. She claimed I was with the CIA and I was following her around. I think the look on my face said it all when he asked me if I knew “her name”, and I replied, “Who?’.

I had obsessive love disorder once. I have never had it again and self monitor and shut connections down if I feel those feelings again. In my case i think it was trauma around attachment issues. I was led on by someone who was attractive and then he suddenly changed his mind about me and I went into saving the relationship mode and effectively really destroyed it I feel for her. But people who have a hard time dealing with the facts of reality....that just makes this disorder even worse.) Sometimes there just isnt enough tears in the universe to make up for all the suffering out there

omfg. she has created her own reality to herself now that reality is what you are seing right now crumbling to pieces.
If I had to sit beside her I would have the same concerned for my own safety look on my face as he had. I had a friend who developed schizophrenia and turned a memory of a genuine friendship (but zero more) into a fictional love affair and she started stalking me. It was painful having to deal with her via the authorities, but when someone is very sick like that they can become very irrational and stab someone, or take their own life. The don’t need hugs that reinforce the obsession, but medication and time in the ward.
I'm sorry that's hard. I've got an old bf that lurks my neighborhood on his Harley bc I was a good friend, we got close but he's nutters. I've had to call the police too.
I will never ever befriend or associate myself with a schizophrenic ever again. I don't feel like sharing my story because no cares really. The biggest mistake I ever made was allowing schizoeffective monster into my life. People with schizophrenia especially schizoeffective are extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all cost.

The stigma isolates, and there are kind people who try their best, who get affected very badly by the exclusion, judgement and hatred. Not everyone is dangerous, they just struggle and need human contact and support. But the stigma vilifies them and bring them further in to the hole.

I get the concern for his safety and for that I think the best thing he could have done was to be in studio in front of her because there is security and mental health experts present to try and get her out of this delusion. If he had talked or met her elsewhere outside of this, that would likely have had more catastrophic consequences than this. She is so deluded and so adamant, her obsession could easily have turned physically violent.

These ppl write Dr Phil and ask for his help. They want to go on national TV. I understand how some could see it as using these ppl but I don't feel it is. They sign the paperwork, even mentally unstable ppl can decide to be on TV. It also serves to shine a light on mental health. When I have a hard time after break up I remember this episode, telling myself to work through it, do whatever you can, get every help you can not to turn into this woman. It’s scary. In reality there s a whole lot of people who can’t process their emotions and deal with reality.
This has nothing to do with not dealing with a breakup. This woman has a form of psychosis, delusion, delerium or all of the above.

This type of illness is a terrible thing she truly believes what she is saying so she is comfortable with what she is saying..When you are on the receiving end of it it's a terrifying experience..

It’s sad how she let herself believe that. It’s sad how at the end- the hen the thing about the limousine came up. I wonder if he said that messing around or something, it was so insignificant he doesn’t remember. But she latched into a few words, really believed them, remembered them, and she thought he was absolutely serious. It sounds like maybe for him it was just a fling but for her, she pinned her entire life on just a few meaningless words.

I had a similar situation in college and got called into my dean’s office and confronted with a complaint I was stalking this girl in one of my classes. I had no clue who she was and the dean quickly realized he had a Kookoo-for-Coco Puffs mental case on his hands. She claimed I was with the CIA and I was following her around. I think the look on my face said it all when he asked me if I knew “her name”, and I replied, “Who?’.

I didn't realize my ex-wife had mental problems until we had been married for a couple of years. One really doesn't know what is going on in another person's mind, but there are signs, and sometimes we miss the signs and red flags because we just don't want to believe a person you think you love hates you but hides it.

This disturbs me because this sounds like whatever mental issues my mom has. She swears people follow her because of her ex-husband and that certain things that happen around her are because of him or that he’s sending other people to do it. She even assumes things are true based off of things she creates in her mind and then continues to say they are true just because it what’s she thinks. This is wild.

I had obsessive love disorder once. I have never had it again and self monitor and shut connections down if I feel those feelings again. In my case i think it was trauma around attachment issues. I was led on by someone who was attractive and then he suddenly changed his mind about me and I went into saving the relationship mode and effectively really destroyed it
I feel for her. But people who have a hard time dealing with the facts of reality....that just makes this disorder even worse.) Sometimes there just isnt enough tears in the universe to make up for all the suffering out there
