I love that the film looks legit like an actual Blaxploitation movie from the 70s, but on top of that this trailer is pitch perfect to how the trailers were for those films as well. I love the movie and I love the trailer. The world needs Black Dynamite. Now more than ever.
They worked really hard to keep it accurate. Black Dynamite's In-universe actor is said to be the running back for the "Baltimore Colts" because the Colts didn't move to Indianapolis until the 80s, And that he "Drives a $5000 car and wears a $100 Suit"
@@stormweaver2535 Unfortunately I've only seen a few clips. I need to find a bluray of the show some time. Even still, I think we should've gotten more movies.
This movie is a hidden gem. It's sad that this flick never got major distribution behind it. This movie could easily have launched a franchise to fill the void left after Goldmember.
Chris Mowry Just watched the OJ Simpson Christmas episode recently. Good stuff. And I love how the Diff'rent Strokes characters are incorporated into the show. The Hungry Games episode with Willis vs. Arnold was great.
This movie seriously changed my life. I've never watched anything so many times. Timeless classic. Every time I watch it I notice a new mistake they made on purpose. Fucking genius
Probably the latest reply to a comment you'll ever get, but I 100% agree. The best "mistake" is probably the bar fight with Bullhorn where he slaps the guy for real and he gets pissed then it jump cuts and it's a different actor, it's gold
Michael Jai White is a national treasure. This movie proved how awesome he is as an actor and comedian. It's a shame Spawn kind of ran his mainstream action star career, astray. I feel like he could have been huge.

I think it's the delivery. The tone. There's something about how it flows. It's a funny line, but not hilarious, and I find it painfully hilarious. Weird.
@@GleedBarry the face that the actor makes is amazingly funny also when he says goodbye black dynamite and takes his hat off or when the other guy says who you are supose to be and he says: oh he's black dynamite that character is amazingly funny
This movie deserved a lot more than it received when it came out. Finally, a movie worthy to stand next to The Naked Gun and Airplane type movies (unlike that Scary Movie, Disaster Movie, Teen Movie crap), and it damn near gets buried. Thankfully people found it.
The masterful thing about this movie is that it literally is just a 70s movie. And honestly if it were left untouched and dropped into the 70s, no one would thinik it's abnormal in any way. It's not so much a parody, it IS a 70s movie. It's brilliant. But why can't we get a sequel like "Black Dynamite goes to Africa" or something like that?
I agree. It seems to me that producers behind the movie had nostalgic respect of blaxploitation movies of 70s rather than they would have tried to make every cliche to be portraid as ridiculous
no it's definitely a parody and would easily stand out from other 70s movies if released in that decade. The comic sensibilities are pretty different and they have many jokes that break the fourth wall and acknowledge that they are inside a film
After all these years I finally, FINALLY saw this movie the other day! It was even better than I had imagined! Not just a clever, on point parody as the trailer shows. But the writing and acting is all completely brilliant (in its own ridiculous way), and the plot goes to even more bizarre extremes than expected.
The only way I knew it wasn't from the 70's was the limo they used in the scene where Black Dynamite's brother got killed. [It was an '80s-era Cadillac limo]
Easily one of the most underrated and greatest movies ever made and an all time classic. Someday, people will revere Black Dynamite the way that Mel Brooks' films are, it deserves all the appreciation and then some.
this brought back a great memory. I remember watching this with my brother ,and without any context to what I was about to watch, he just popped the movie in the DVD player. we had pizza and beer. I remember laughing so hard, for so long, my throat, head, ribs, glands and back were in excruciating pain. This movie was easily one of the funniest things I've ever seen, in my life. I will never forget it. If you haven't seen this movie, you're doing yourself a disservice. Believe me, the pain is worth it. If you're a fan of laughing, you need to see it.
This film puts your ass in traction, it's so good it makes the 70s look like some half assed decade from the 80s. And it's filmed in cinemotronic quadrovision, which I am not quite sure what that is, but it makes cooler than some white assed Speilberg shit.
I had a black belt karate instructor with a big Afro in the 80s who used to kick my ass with all of his moves. I was just a kid. I remember him sitting on the hood of his triumph TR7 picking at he’s perfectly round Afro waiting for my dad to pay him for the lesson. He was also a bad Mo Fo
One of the best movie parodies ever. When I first saw this trailer I actually thought it was to an actual seventies blaxploitation flick until I recognized White.
My favourite comedy movie so far! Gotta love the whacky music in the background, the obvious cutting and editing mistakes, the twisted storyline and the brilliant acting of all the actors! Just the trailer is hilarious! This movie is gonna stay with me for life!
It's funny, some of the comments on here. Clearly some people completely are ignorant of the point behind this film. A little bit of research goes a long way but there's an excellent documentary to curb that issue called American Grindhouse that explains about how there were films like this in the 60s and they were really trying to be serious but were actually really cheesy. This movie pays homage to those black action films.
I just saw this movie last night. LOL it was hilarious. Everyone in the audience was laughing lol. Well done. Very detailed. Very true to the genre. Glad to support this, yall should go see it.
Manborg is the closest I've seen a modern movie to looking like it was shot in the '80s. It was released in 2012 and you can see how it was influenced by Scott Pilgrim in the editing and action, but it's leagues more believable than how over-the-top Kung Fury was.
